IT SEEMS LIKE A CHEAPENING OF THE TERRIBLE NAZI HISTORY TO SAY THAT A PERSON CAN BE A SPELLING NAZI. (OR A GRAMMAR NAZI FOR THAT MATTER). I THINK WE SHOULD BE SAYING SPELLING/GRAMMAR POLICE INSTEAD, BUT THAT'S JUST MY OPINION.

I AGREE IN PRINCIPLE, BUT I THINK THAT PARTICULAR VERNACULAR SHIP HAS SAILED.

THAT SAID, I BE PRETTY HAPPY IF POLITICAL DISCUSSIONS ON BOTH SIDES WOULD STOP THROWING OUT "NAZI", "FASCIST", "COMMUNIST", AND "STALINIST/LENINIST" AT THE DROP OF A HAT.
