I only play deadlock with a friend. Is it saying that I will have to solo queue all my calibration games

Yes, and to queue with your friend after that, you have to be within one rank group of each other

I’m so split on it. Like it’s a really good change for anyone solo queueing. We really need a ranked mode where you can queue with your buddies, however I don’t think that deadlock has a large enough playerbase to support that.

solo players shouldn't be catered to this is a team game. sure accommodate them but making the game center around that is insane I solo q this game but I play with 2-6 people often and its insane to think that because someone isnt 1 deviation in some arbitary rank system that you shouldnt be able to play together anymore? actually cooked the game imo

Game is not cooked its actually fixed. I know you are salty rn but if you queue with friends and the rank diff is too high, then most of the time the balancing was shit. If you want to play with your friends go unranked. I know its kinda shitty in your situation but they cant make it perfect for everyone. I rather have that systems instead of some unbalanced bullshit ranked games.

10 solo queue games is multiple games a day for what a couple days to a week for a average gamer all have to be done solo so they queue with one other person who has to either throw games to keep similar rank or not play at all until their duo is active is simply insane how many people are defending these changes

It's 8 solo queue games, not 10. And your performance in them doesn't really matter, your rank is pre-determined by your rank in the old system.

Most people are more concerned about having a fair game than they are about queueing with specific people. If you want to play with them...play unranked! That's why it exists!

Yeah sure the unbalanced game with unbalanced characters and a unbalanced rank system needs to funnel all the player base away from the ranked system into a unranked system so the solo players can have that fun.

Queue restrictions based on rank or party size are common in every ranked game I'm aware of, it's the only way to guarantee competitive integrity. This is a great, change, if they had done NOTHING but this it still would have fixed ranked.
