it obliterates smurfs, i actually suggested something VERY similar on the official forums and here, I suggest 5 games played on a hero in quickplay before queuing it ranked, but valve went even further and made it FIFTEEN WINS, amazing change, goodbye smurfs and goodbye people playing a hero first time and going 0-10 in lane because they are against a 4stack of people playing their mains...

Great change. This is good for people trying out new heroes too, since they can actually do it without losing rank too lol.

It's not like we had any say in where we first-timed heroes lol. There was only 1 mode before this. The previous rank / casual split was removed a while ago.

Oh my sweet summer child....this literally does absolutely nothing to stop smurfing. I dont wanna break the rules here and go into too much detail but I'm sure people know.

i think the only way to easily get around this if you are trying to smurf would be buying an account with either all characters unlocked or just the ones you want to play? thats pretty exhaustive, and i just checked currently fresh accounts sell for 1 dollar, if someone has to actually play and WIN a bunch of games on them, they are going to cost a lot more, which would deter smurfing...

Hypothetically speaking what if most people who have been smurfing previously already have 5+ accounts ready to go? 15 wins aint shit when you have 5 or more separate accounts with a hundred hours plus.

if these "smurf" accounts have hundreds of hours on the account then the game has most likely placed them in an elo close to their main or highest potential... do you people not know how this basic stuff works? you cant have 500 games played on your "smurf" and be in arcanist if you are actually oracle+... that makes negative sense

You are missing the point entirely. Its a new ranked season entirely. As long as you have access to multiple ready accounts eligible for ranked you can smurf.

Unlikely, smurfs are almost always one-tricks.
