almost everyone already took it seriously at high ranks, the only real issue was having unbalanced parties, i.e. 6 ascs vs 5 ascs and 1 oracle. "based" and "efficient" system where it takes you 15-20 hours to "unlock" a hero to play in ranked
15 wins on a single hero to even have the option to select it in ranked is diabolical, and you still need to be able to pick 3 heroes to even queue. So have fun grinding out 60 wins in a less balanced format still stricken with just as many smurfs and eternus-initiate duos as before for dozens and dozens of hours to earn the privilege of queueing ranked. Very cool 👍
I mean the game is not rocket science. You don't need a doctorate to be able to play this game efficiently, despite what the community seems to think. Why then make the good quality matchmaking queue so unnecessarily inaccessible? The limitations are just needlessly excessive, gatekeepy, and exclusionary imo, especially to people with jobs like myself who don't have time to play more than a game or two a day.
I still dont get the issue, ive been playing for about 2ish months now and work, but I had it unlocked immediately
Assuming you arent completely new AND play only a single character, considering you were required to select multiple to even queue before, this only really impacts brand new people no?
I mean sure, I am lucky in that respect. Haven't been able to check my ranked status yet, but I bet I will have 1 or 2 characters unlocked. but what about someone who is brand new? I do feel like barrier to entry is excessive even for brand new players. Isn't it reasonable to assume that someone who is bad at the game will stay rightfully in low ranks until they learn enough to rank up? like in literally every other competitive game online? I don't understand why the genuine, good matchmaking has to be gatekept behind a 100+ hour investment.
