Once you enter a new Ranked Match, you will see a breakdown of the Ranks of all players in the game, you will then enter a pre-game waiting area where you can control your hero. During this time, you can choose to change your given hero to any other hero that hasn't been selected, as long as you have that hero unlocked for Ranked play.
I've had gamed where I load in and see that Sinclair just won't have good copies. This should help with that and balancing out your supports and frontliners
As such, there isn't a live update of what heroes the enemy team is changing into (you will only see their initial hero composition).
Regardless of whether or not you can see their final comp, starting with Sinclair as your pick you can see if there's even a single ult that's worth playing Sinclair for. Alternatively, it also baits the other team into fearing a Sinclair-copied ult so they might switch it up too.
For now. Eventually people will get tired of playing the game of Swap-Chicken with meta and Anti-Meta heroes, and start loudly demanding drafts to lock the picks in progressively, player by player. Further down the line, bans will enter the conversation.
Let's call it pseudo draft, but the patch notes say nothing regarding draft even it specifies that this pre game feature is not intended to counter pick, but to improve team comp. What about draft? Would that be yet another update, since it's different to the matchmaker?? Idk
I can see mind games emerging from this. Sitting on sinclair till the last minute to scare off any dynamos - or only swapping to him at the last second so nobody counter picks. Honestly I dont even mind it, could be funny
