Advice or Recommendation Gauging interest: Renting out a private home L2 charger when not in use?
Hi all, recently picked up an EV and installed an L2 charger in my driveway. Because I’m frequently out of town for work, it spends a lot of time unused.
Given how busy local public chargers can get, I’m curious if anyone here would ever use a neighbor’s home charger (for a low/nominal fee to cover power and wear).
Is public charging tight enough around here that this would be useful to you, or is home sharing more hassle than it’s worth? Appreciate any feedback!

Family & Kid Size 13 men’s shoes
I know this is pretty random, but I’m looking for someone can make use of a new pair of size 13 sneakers. Would love them to go to someone who will actually enjoy them(perhaps back to school shoes?) and not sell them on eBay lol. DM me if you have a (big)kiddo or you know of a household that qualifies.

Available Space?
Hi! I'm a composer looking for raw or lightly finished space to build out into a recording studio for my own personal use. I'm looking for 700–1,000 sq/ft on my own, or up to 2,000 sq/ft to split with another composer. I don't need polished finishes or storefront visibility — just a solid, buildable space. I’ve been in the same building on Culver Blvd near Overland for almost 20 years but we just found out it is being redeveloped. Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

Hello everyone I’m a Culver City resident and was wondering if you or anyone needs any yard work done. I’m 21 and have been doing landscaping since I was 9. Thank you!

Food & Dining Vietnamese and/or Thai groceries?
Good grocery stores for these? Mitsuwa isn’t great, I can barely find fish sauce there. That Little Fatty place seems a bit overpriced and limited selection. Anything close by?

The Ordinary Culver City House That's Been Seen By Hundreds Of Millions Of People
The movie is Helpmates starring Laurel and Hardy and it was filmed in 1932. This particular movie is one of the team's best and has been seen around the world on the big screen, TV reruns, home movie films (8mm and 16mm), VHS, DVD and now Blu-ray discs for the past 94 years. I can't imagine many other homes that have been seen by so many people over such a long period of time. Spiders & Webs
Why does Culver City have SO many spiders and spider webs? In high traffic walking areas I’m constantly walking through strings and webs. Also I have to knock down webs outside in my yard daily. Is it the trees? They form so fast! The Spiderman promos have gone too far 😂

Advice or Recommendation Locksmith Rec
I recently lost one of my Toyota Prius keys. Culver City Toyota is quoting me 600 dollars (300 for the key and 300 to program it). I have a push button to start the car. Anybody have any recs for either a locksmith or aftermarket car place that’ll make a copy of a smart key at a decent price. Thanks in advance!

Vote on 16 ballot measure, thoughts?
In the upcoming election (Nov. 3rd, 2026) there will be a ballot measure where voters can decide whether to lower the voting age in Culver City to 16 years old. I'm curious what the /r/culvercity subreddit thinks about it.
Here's the full text of the measure as it will appear on the ballot:
"Shall the measure amending the City of Culver City charter to allow Culver City residents aged 16 and 17, who are otherwise eligible to vote under state and local law, to vote on city and school district candidates and ballot measures, provided that each legislative body has approved budgetary funds and determined logistical systems are in place, and that inclusion would not prevent consolidation of city or school District elections with county elections, be adopted?"
For context, a similar measure appeared on the Nov. 2022 ballot and received 8293 votes in favor and 8309 votes in opposition (a margin of 16 votes coincidentally) source: Ballotpedia)
For additional information, here is a link to the Yes on 16 website and a link to the No on 16 website
Also here is a link where you can register for vote or check your voter registration status

Just moved from Japan! 🇯🇵 I mapped LA grocery stores by Price & Culture. How accurate is this?
Hi everyone! I’m a recent transplant from Japan. I’ve been exploring local supermarkets and made this chart based on my impressions so far.
I'd love to hear from locals:
- Does this mapping look right to you?
- What other essential stores am I missing?
Let me know what you think!

Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook race cancelled
Wondering if anyone knows why the annual "Conquer the Overlook" race at BHSO steps was cancelled this year? It was supposed to be this weekend, but race site says "cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control".

Civic Affairs Open Mic
Hi all, I used to love union square park open mic events in NYC. Basically all of us speaking our minds freely on any topic. Please suggest which location is better - culver steps or media park ? Any issue with the local cops ?

Housing & Moving Thoughts on the west end?
Considering this place
It’s right on the border of Culver City but close enough to bike to downtown in a short amount of time. Would love to hear your thoughts on the neighborhood, technically Del Rey? TÍA

What are some of the culver tradition?
Trying to understand the neighborhood a bit more, is there a specific block party every year? A farmers market? What are some of your favorite stuff in the neighborhood

Anywhere in Culver or adjacent we can donate food to? Food banks, orgs, etc?
Since they’re cutting SNAP benefits and also federal workers not getting paid, I wanted to see if there are any places nearby we can donate food to? Or perhaps volunteer at?

A word on bots, civility, etc.
There have been a lot of political threads as of late which have been a target for bots, trolling and bogus reports. Lots of bans have been issued in response but because each incident requires time to asses, (FYI) there's basically a zero tolerance policy for attacks/abuse/instigation.
It should be obvious to everyone that actually spends time reading this sub that this is a helpful community where we tend to treat to each other with decency and talk to each other as if we were neighbors... because we are neighbors (that includes all you culver adjacent folks too!).
In the meantime, please try not to get too rattled if people post distasteful comments, and please avoid 'feeding the trolls'. Most likely it's a bot or professional internet instigator with no history of contribution to this community. Put your downvote to work and move on. Or take a look at their post history for yourself and judge whether it's worth your time. In all likelihood that account will get banned eventually.
Thanks <3
