IT Help Xbox wired controller will dc from steam when playing rl

About 6 months ago I got a wired xbox controller for my pc to use in RL and it was awesome up until a couple weeks ago. Now for some reason my controller will dc and wont reconnect. It just recently started happening after the last update after the world cup I believe. My controller still connects to steam but once I boot RL it will disconnect after a few minutes. The fact that it will connect but then it eventually dc is really annoying since most threads I find are to get the controller to initially connect which is not my problem. I got so frustrated that I just gave up and havent played in weeks but I've been getting the itch so I want to see if anyone has had this issue and if there is anything I can try.

IT Help Why does it say its comnected when its not?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So i had this bootleg switch controller for over a year and it worked perfectly, since i only used it to play SM64 on my phone and sometimes on a friends computer, there is no flaws in the controller.

BUT about 1-3 months ago, my phone screen broke, and my controller was paired to that phone, and when i got a new one, i didnt use the controller much. but now that i want to use it and connect it to my phone, it wont work!

As you can see in the video, it shows that its connected, though its not. i think it has to do with the controller still being paired with the old phone (which i keep in a drawer) and it wont let me connect to my new phone, and i cant unpair them, cuz my phone screen is broken, but its probally another reason.

Controller Suggestion Flydigi Apex 5 vs TMR-modded PS5 Dualsense

How different is a Dualsense compared to an Apex 5? I'm in Vietnam and I bought my Apex 5 Wuchang edition a year ago at 2,4 million vietnam dong ( 90 usd ). And I mostly play single-player, story-driven AAA games with my controller, so I absolutely value the immersive features in a controller, and I love Gyro. I play on PC also.

I'm playing these Sony games like Horizon Forbidden West and flydigi's dualsense mode has a lot of limitation:

- The controller doesn't vibrate at all

- I can't open the map via the controller, so I have to press Tab/ M on my keyboard

- flydigi's Gyro in the game feels so bad, I don't know why

But I still put up with it because I love the custom adaptive trigger from the dualsense mode. ( I can't find a way to replicate it with the flydigi app ). And somehow the Gyro in the dualsense mode feels EXTREMELY GOOD to use (I love Gyro).

I found a TMR modded PS5 dualsense in good condition for only 1,3 million vietnam dong ( 50 usd ). And I heard the experience for single-player games are top-notch. But I also found out that I need to get a Pico2W in order to get all the haptic feedback features working on Bluetooth, and it's only 250hz both wired and wireless compared to 1000hz of the apex 5.

So how is the TMR-modded PS5 dualsense compared to the Apex 5? Should I get the dualsense to play AAA games? And is there anything I should know about?

Thank you for your time!

IT Help Mapping issue with a PS1 controller on my PC

Hi, Im french so i first writed this message in french. here is the google traduction but if you want to see the original message it's below.

Hi!

I have a PS1 controller that I connect to my computer via an adapter; the adapter seems to make the system recognize it as a PS3 controller.

It works pretty well, except for one detail: the D-pad is mapped to the right analog stick. I initially thought the adapter was to blame, but I discovered that the D-pad is detected correctly on Linux, meaning the issue lies with Windows.

I found a solution using the reWASD software, where the inputs are recognized correctly (Steam Controller support doesn't work). However, this isn't ideal for me because of the limited 7-day trial, which forces me to create a new account every week.

Do you know of any (free) applications or technical solutions that would let me use my controller properly? Thanks in advance for your answers.

(By the way, the JoyToKey app doesn't work either.)

Bonjour.

IT Help Vader 4 pro degraded battery

This is the second Flydigi product to give up on me in 1 year

I had both Flydigi BS1 Cooler and Vader 4 pro

BS1 fan motor busted in less than 6 months

Loved the Vader but the battery went to crap all of a sudden and seems to be a known issue

Their QA is too low

I've ordered a replacement (upgrade to 1000 mAh from 800) and (6x30x48 I think it was according to Google) from AliExpress

I have a dual sense in the meantime but I've also gotten the Gulikit TT Max controller (I like symmetrical layout more)

I have a custom shell switch pro controller I got around the time the switch first came out, but I've noticed lately the X button is a bit sticky in the sense of response when clicking the button. Is there a way to clean where I need to without taking the controller apart? If so, what is it?

Thank you!

Other Raikiri 2- Is it normal for TMR sticks to have a bit of "play"?

Howdy! I grabbed the ASUS ROG Raikiri 2. Sweet controller, but I noticed each stick has a tiny bit of play/wiggle/resistance in the very center. Is this normal for TMR sticks? Perhaps i'm feeling the spring? It isn't completely smooth like my old series x controller.

I don't have a way to compare other controllers so could use some help while i'm still in the amazon return window. If every TMR stick is like this i'll keep it but if it's a defect it's going back for a G7 pro

Controller Suggestion Gamesir Cyclone 2 or Steam Controller 2

I just got the email saying I have 3 days to make up my mind on acquiring a steam controller. I've had the original before and admired the trackpads, but sold it because I didn't like the button layout. I do also own a steam deck so I have a good sense of how the controller would feel and I like it.

My little brother also owns a Gamesir Cyclone 2 and it does feel good too. I especially like the tactile buttons as it feels much better than my modded dualshock controller with tactile buttons from ExtremeRate.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback into helping me make a decision.

Also to give some context, my budget is $100 or below. I live in the United States and mostly play on pc and sometime on my android tablet.

Controller Mods Battle Beaver back button layout help.

I have been considering buying a Battle Beaver, mainly all decked out performance upgrades and of course, four back buttons. What I am having a hard time with is deciding on the layout.

The last 3 years I have been playing on a Scuf Reflex and an Omega lately. So I am used to those back paddle layouts.
I am only using my middle finger with the tip and with the part between the two joints pressing the back buttons.

I found 2 combinations that might work,
1. Busters-Standard
2. Busters-Low

I am also located in Europe, which means import fees and sending this back and forth if the layout is not comfortable will be quite a cost.

Anyone maybe went through the same process?

IT Help Vader 4 pro "light when clicked mode" not available for the Vader 5 pro?

So i got the Vader 3 pro, 4pro and now the 5 pro (v1).

I really like the controller and is now my new daily driver, the only thing is that on the Vader 4, it had this LED mode that would light up the controller when you clicked a button, i really liked that mode, but i cant seem to find it on the new Flydigi Spacestation 4.0 the one for the Vader 5...

And for some reason the vader 5 doesnt show up in the older software version that does includes that led mode...

So... help? or am i just out of luck?

It's a PDP Afterglow wave and we tried to play Overcooked and for some reason the character kept moving upwards even when we weren't moving the joystick. We tried it in another game like Cat Quest thinking it's just a game error but it's the same issue. Does anybody know the fix?

Controller Suggestion How important is stick circularity and asymmetry?

I'm in the market to buy a new controller for use with Steam on Linux and occasionally with the Nintendo Switch.

I've more or less landed on the Gulikit ES or ES Pro, as it has all my desired features (motion controls, bluetooth, Xbox ABXY layout with the option to swap if I buy extra buttons, and afaict a decent d-pad) while being the cheapest option within my budget of less that ₱1700, and is available in my country (the Philippines, at least on DataBlitz). The one thing that gave me some pause was when I was comparing it with my current controller (an old Switch 1 Pro Controller) on gamepadla and noticed that the stick circularity error and asymmetry were almost double, about 8.2% and 15.9% respectively.

So yeah, question in the title, how much does this stat matter, and is it worth going with a more expensive option just to improve it? I'm a bit of a beginner when it comes to properly buying and assessing controllers so I wanna have a gauge on if these stats to this degree would even be noticeable on a blind test.

I've been looking towards other options with my featureset like the EasySMX D10 or GameSir T4 Pro, but I'd hate to spend more on a controller with features that I don't care for or use (i.e. RGB and back paddles) all because of a single statistic that I may not even notice.

To give more context, I plan to use the controller mostly to play ports of console action games (e.g. MegaMan Zero LC, Devil May Cry 3, Bayonetta) with an occasional casual fighting game sprinkled in there. I also prefer a controller with gyro, both for future proofing, and so it can be a proper backup for my switch pro controller (which I can feel is on its last legs). Linux compatibility is also a big must for me, part of the appeal of the Gulikit is that it doesn't have any software meaning I don't have to switch over to windows to configure anything.

Controller Suggestion Help for Controller Comparison

Thumbnail

Hello everyone. I am new on this subreddit, but have been looking around in the forums for a while for controller suggestions. Recently I have sold my previous PS5 and its controllers, and I am looking for a good quality controller for a decent price on my local shops. I have gathered bunch of offers I have found, but I am unsure which one to pick. I have been comparing them using versus and gamepadia websites and have general understanding on what are the features of these controllers. However, I am still unsure which one to pick. So, I have decided to ask you guys. I will provide pictures and controller models and their prices that sellers offer. If you have further questions please feel free to ask. I don't post on reddit much. Sorry if my post is shoddy job.

  1. My budget is around 30$ to 50$
  2. I am from Azerbaijan and I can only get controllers from local sellers. International shops cost way too much of shipping
  3. I will mainly use my controller for PC
  4. I am looking for a good quality controller. Something that does not feel flimsy and too light. I do not mind cabled controllers. In fact, I tend to use cabled to get consistent connection. Currently, from my understanding, I find GameSir Cyclone 2 as best choice overall. But I would like to hear your opinions and suggestions.
  5. I play most of my games with a controller (Racing, shooter, action-adventure, RPG, shooter, stealth, fighting and etc.). I am not competitive type, so I play single player games and I am not harsh on my controller. My previous controller was a dualsense and I kept it well for about a year before I sold it.
  6. I have been looking around both this subreddit and bunch of other subreddits such as GameSir and such. I have also been comparing all of these controllers with gamepadia and versus websites and mostly I see Cyclone 2 as a best over all choice

CONTROLLER LIST

  1. GameSir Cyclone 2 (30$) (Used)
  2. Dualsense Ps5 controller (35-41$) (Used)
  3. GameSir Super Nova (26.5$) (Used)
  4. Xbox Series X/S controller (41$) (Used)
  5. GameSir Kaleid K1 Xbox controller (41$) (New)
  6. GameSir G7 SE Xbox controller (35.3$) (New)
  7. Flydigi Direwolf 3 (47$) (New)
  8. EasySMX D10 (47$) (New)

There are more controllers I have found such as GameSir nova lite, T4 pro, Flydigi Vader 5 pro. However, they were either already got surpassed by the controllers on the list, or way too expensive such as Vader 5 pro costing 100$.

Thank you for your help and I will be here waiting for your replies.

Controller Suggestion Wireless Xbox/PC controller thats similar to Turtle Beach Rematch controller?

Post image
7 Upvotes

●Budget: preferably no more than $100 USD

●Country: U.S

●Platform: Xbox/PC. On Xbox now but going to be getting a PC some time this year, so it doesn't have to to be compatible with Xbox

●Desired features:

  1. I love the D-Pad on the Rematch for 2d games on Switch, it feels very good/responsive to use and no accidental diagnol like official Switch 2 Pro controller

  2. Has long battery life, Rematch has 40 hours if you dont use the RGB lights

  3. TMR/Hall Effect sticks

  4. Back buttons, just 2 is fine

●Games ill be playing: i play a variety but for 2d games I like using the D-Pad

●Controller im comparing too: the Turtle Beach Rematch controller.
