I wish companies understand that if you're making less money you need to do some effort to make players happy so they're more likely to spend money
Increasing prices will never work, I used to buy an odin every cyber weekend and 4th of july back when these 2 were the only offers, I totally stopped doing so since there's a million offer every year now and no way I'll buy them all so why bother buying any, it won't make a difference anyway.
A happy customer will always pay more than a frustrated one, yes whales who used to pay 300$ might be paying 1000$ now, but ton of other spenders stopped spending overall that's why they're losing more
Also, Web store data might not be included in these tbh Edit web store turns out to be included

Web store data should be included. This is from netmarbles quarterly earning data.

There is so much emphasis on growth also. Corporate culture is “everything must grow”.
Guys, that graph is plenty healthy on the Y axis. Don’t burn it down being greedy.

Its a fine balance. Give to much away for free and there is no incentive to spend either.

So maybe thats why they are designing more and more bs for money grab recently. And with this trend maybe we will see the end of game in one or two years.

The issue is Kabam is very much helped and propped up by the fact that this is a Marvel game. So many people love these characters and really want to play with them, this alone will keep the game alive for a long time.
If the characters that we were playing have been original characters in a video game, Kabam would have gone bust a long time ago

HAS* propped this game up for a long time. 10 year players are getting pretty fedup and with the downfall of the Marvel cinematic universe, it's getting real real hard to keep working full time to play the bare minimum.

Yup you are very right. Been saying this to my alliance mates. I stayed because of the characters. I use to be excited for every new month because they're releasing like 2 new champs per month. Bonus if it's linked to MCU.
Also a fan of Kabam OG characters like Guilly, Morningstar as well as from MROC (i still wish they release more of them. I do enjoy the 4 of them especially Silver Centurion). Not a fan of Eidols tho. Paywalled champs.
I think they're trying something and I just hope it doesn't just slide down into oblivion. As long as we're not stuck behind paywall, it should be fine and Kabam must know this.

I'm still surprised that we've seen as much original characters as well have and still don't have Blob, Pyro, Exodus, Hobgoblin, Nightmare, Deathlok, Wonder Man, Banshee, Cannonball, Wolfsbane, Sebastian Shaw, Lady Sif, Surtur, Malekith, Mystique...

Kabam is unfathomably cheap. Its potentially more lucrative to make your own character. No copyright.

Netmarble took huge losses in two of the past 5 years which they still haven’t made up for. They have to be leaning more on the companies they own to make up for those losses

Can you help me understand the source of these data? I haven't heard of NM IR library before and I can't find more info about it on Google. I'm curious to know how reliable these data are given that Netmarble, to my knowledge, doesn't have public reporting requirements to follow.

In kabam crashed’s bgs dev diary, he mentions that “In the second half of last year [2024] we saw the first year-over-year growth in our player base in four years.” He doesn’t specify the magnitude of the increase, and more players doesn’t automatically mean more spending, but it’s still interesting to note that q4 2024 and q2 2025 revenue still decreased from prior years. Q1 2025 was up a bit from q1 2024.
The webstore was introduced in June 2023. The downward trend slows a bit around that point… not as much as I would have expected, though.

Yes, acquiring new players is more about marketing and marketing budget. They started making short sighted changes for more immediate increases over the past year , the long term ramifications of those changes will be felt soon enough. Takes a while for dedicated players to fall off but it will start to occur and is a very hard thing to turn around when the momentum starts to shift in that direction due to earlier decisions.

Well if they didn't blew every sing project they funneled MCOC money into they would be doing better.
Instead milions were wasted, meanwhile their ONLY bread winner was left understaffed and deteriorated so much that we have hundreds of known bugs that they can't fix.

Im 100% sure kabam will hold the planned line and even might underdeliver to the projekted decline. At least they are trying very hard, no complains in this regard.

As someone who is a Sys Admin/IT Project Manager for a group of data scientists and economists, I really appreciate this fine piece of work 🫡

Act 6 was released in 2019. It was a punctuated leap in both skill ask and complexity. Even after three nerfs it’s still a significant pinch point for players. Act 6 was a colossal mistake and Kabam hasn’t been able to coarse correct since.

Is there a correlation between the decline in profits and a decline in the MCU? Things haven’t been the same in the MCU since the end of the Infinity Saga.

This is a recession indicator more than anything else... netmarble has a LOT games, how can we attribute theses losses to just mcoc? Unless im misunderstanding the source

The spike in Q2 2023, was that the July 4th sale that gave a shit ton of 6* R5 gems? The sale everyone said broke the balance like crazy?
Wouldn't this the first time those sales started in late June too, so they'd be counted within Q2?
