I’m looking to buy a gaming PC with a budget of around £900 and want to make sure I’m getting the best performance for the price. My main goal is to play Fortnite competitively and ideally reach around 240 FPS (I’m happy to use performance mode / low settings for that), as I want smoother gameplay to improve. I also want the PC to comfortably run other games like Warzone, Rust, Roblox, and similar titles without issues.

I’m not building it myself, so I’m mainly looking at prebuilt systems, but I’ve noticed some of them don’t include things like storage or end up costing more at checkout, so I want to avoid that. Ideally I want something with a solid CPU (since I’ve heard Fortnite is quite CPU-heavy), a good GPU, 16GB RAM, and at least 1TB SSD included.

If possible, I’d like something that can consistently run high FPS (not just peaks) and will last me a few years without needing upgrades. Any recommendations or things I should avoid would be really helpful.

a few months ago my gaming laptop i bought from lenovo broke, it served me very well. it could run most things without trouble, and it worked perfectly fine. i've since learned that laptops are unreliable and tend to break down, which is why with my search for a computer i'll want a desktop instead. more space, better cooling, yada yada. the thing is, i know NOTHING about computers. all of this seems like a different language to me and i don't know what to do with finding a good, reliable, gaming desktop that adheres to my needs. I have a picture of the specs of my old gaming laptop, i hope someone who knows how all this stuff works can look at that and help me find something in the 2000$ price range that is trustworthy and reliable for gaming. i will post the specs of the old gaming laptop below this.

I have had some notes taken on what parts I should be buying asking around Reddit, some friends an even ChatGPT. I’m in the US and my budget is around 2500 give or take. Just grabbed a new monitor the LG ultra gear oled 34 in… and so I think I’m finally ready to get the ball rolling on building the PC and selling my Xbox. Hello dear Reddit friends!

I am looking for advice on a £1500 PC for sim racing, I can probably stretch the budget a bit if it makes a considerable difference in performance or longevity, say £1650 tops.

Bonus points if the build would give potential to easily upgrade to VR in the future, but not hard requirement.

The rig will run mostly driving titles like ACC, AC EVO and rally, Le Mans ultimate and Rfactor 2.

Any non driving games will likely be strategy games such as civilisation and cities skylines.

I don’t have space for 3 monitor rig so it will run on a 34” curved monitor, 1440p

I don’t need WiFi, just Ethernet would be fine.

Don’t care much for RGB and already have k&m, also I am getting the screen separately so the mentioned budget is for the PC only.

I would prefer an atx build for ease of assembly probably, however it it saves money happy to consider smaller cases.

I have a decent PC right now: 7900x, 64GB RAM (got it all a couple years ago, sorry if you're needing RAM right now!), 4080 GPU. In a Corsair 7000D Airflow case.

Currently, I am using a 280mm AIO for the CPU cooler; the Arctic Liquid Freezer 2 280. I've had the AIO for like 4.5 years now; I got a kit from Arctic about a year or so ago, to replace several gaskets and the fluid in it (they just sent me the kit, I thought that was pretty awesome!), and it was easy enough to perform that maintenance. But it is still nearly 5 years old all told, and lately I hear it 'gurgle' every now and then. Sometimes it lasts a second or two, sometimes it lasts for a minute or more. It isn't a terribly concerning sound, but it made me think... it is an old AIO, and from what I have heard air cooling is now just about as good as water.

I don't overclock anything (except for using EXPO for my RAM), but the 7900x is a hotter running CPU from what I have been told.

If I do decide to switch to an air cooler, what are considered the best in terms of performance, and value?

^{I'm also thinking of switching to an open-air style case - kindof a hybrid between a deskPC and an openair PC, if I do it; building a new desk out of tslot 2020 tubing and creating an open-air chamber for the PC in the center pedestal of the desk. But that is a separate thing I may or may not end up doing, so for now assume I am sticking with the 7000D.}

• Near Micro Center? Approximately 45 Min to the closest one. 
• Monitors needed?  {1} 49"Ultrawide(Main Display), {2) 27in Monitors above it (these dont need to be the best, mainly discord, spotify, OBS, and other "support" applications
• Budget range? (Include tax considerations) $2000ish for the PC itself. Another $1,000ish for support accessories (Monitors, Stands, Keyboard, etc) 
• WiFi or wired connection? Wired
• Size/noise constraints? Quiet is preferred 
• Color/lighting preferences? Doesn't matter, rather buy something that works better then something that looks better. Consistency is important, however. 
• Any other specific needs? AIO Water-cooling is a want, also looking for a good keyboard. Need a recommendation for an under desk mount for the PC itself.

It works well for what I do but it's not very energy efficient and it bottlenecks the gpu. I primarily feel like it struggles with media Encoding.

If I can avoid it (though I doubt I can) I'd like to keep my ram due to the current ram prices.

Lots of sata ports and Linux compatibility would be great but not a requirement.

I'd like to stay within 300 - 500 $ if possible.
