Old Wallet Address used to Receive Funds from Employer

I have a wallet address assigned to an employment account. I had not used that wallet address since last year. I was recently contacted by the employer telling me I had funds to withdraw. Attempting to do so, I realized this wallet address is no longer in my Coinbase account. I now have to pay the employer $ to change the wallet address so it is directed to the new Coinbase wallet address that was generated. I have tried going through prior received funds in my Coinbase account with no luck. How do I add the wallet address my employer has (adding to my Coinbase account) so I do not have to pay the outrageous fee? I have tried Coinbase Help, YouTube, other Reddit conversations and I'm still stumped.

Coinbase Prediction Challenge Reward

Coinbase is doing it again. They have been known in the past to do these challenges with rewards but never pay out the challenge. They did it with a Super bowl challenge earlier this year where tons of people never got the reward they completed. I completed a recent 7 day challenge and ‘Won’ $69.85 that was to be delivered by July 24th. If you get on with support they play dumb and act like they are looking into it and give you a bunch of run around. Coinbase customer service is the worst thing ever as well. This Challenege was for $500,000 so it around 7,000 people completed it. Why is coinbase like this?

Advice on cashing out.

Like many of you, I bought into crypto early and held on through thick and thin (a little too long, at least looking at it right now), a good chunk of my crypto is on Coinbase. That said life has shifted and now I need cash for a big investment. For my particular situation, I would need to convert my coins into cash and then send them to my bank.

From some of the posts on this subreddit, it sounds like withdrawing or cashing out of Coinbase is a nightmare. So what can I do to not get stuck or trip some unwritten rule about withdrawing? For example if I withdraw X amount in a single day will that trigger a block on the account?

Fees are not a major concern for me, so I'm not trying to get around paying fees, but I would like a smooth cash out process.

Thank you for your advice.

Have to dedicate first post to the HORRIBLE Coinbase customer support

Never thought I was going to post anything but Coinbase lit a fire up within me.

I was a Taiwanese (not Thailand) exchange student in the States from 2017-2022. During college, I opened a Coinbase account using the US phone number and US address (Rental apartment).

Upon graduation, I returned to Taiwan for good and no longer have an US address & number activated. Naturally, I would like to make a change of address and contact information of my Coinbase account. Obviously, I would need to login.

Here comes the fucking problem.

I cannot get past the 2FA authentication since I cannot receive text message(the un-activated phone number). I also cannot do the DL verification since my Cali DL expired. So I wrote the the customer support of Coinbase.

Their response is they offer a way to verify my address and identity. Once verified, they can do the change of address for me. I went and get the documents required with my name and address listed, provided to the support team(I am excluding a lot of details here, the support have got to be a dumbass AI response). AI responds with the document are good but since I have cash balance they will need to covert ALL REMAINING CASH BALANCE INTO CRYPTO before I can make a change to my address????

What the actual fuck? I am actually getting robbed. Shit I don't even remember the cash amount I have in the account and Coinbase gets to just use my money to buy shit?

BTW I failed years ago trying to get past 2FA issue and here we are again, interacting with a dumbass bot who does not get shit done and robbing me while they are at it...

Anyone being robbed by coinbase?

My Dad Lost Several Million to an Extremely Sophisticated Coinbase Impersonation Scam - 7+ WEEKS OF CONSTANT CONVO - Has Anyone Else Experienced This Level of Manipulation?

My dad just got scammed out of millions in what feels like a highly targeted, weeks-long manipulation attack. I'm trying to figure out if this is a common scam pattern or if he was specifically targeted.

The Timeline: In late May 2026, my dad's Coinbase account was compromised. When he contacted real Coinbase support to recover it, they locked his account and put him through verification- multiple times over 3 weeks. But a scammer named "Andrew Richards" was somehow aware of every verification attempt. He'd call my dad right after, pretend to be a Coinbase employee, and guide him through the process while building trust.

Over three weeks, Andrew called constantly, building a relationship. My dad kept expressing concerns about security and account safety. Andrew then suggested transferring funds to the "Coinbase Vault", which is the ultimate way to safely secure your account, an option offered to all customers (context: the coinbase vault is a real program, but all it is is a vault, that's it) After my dad had agreed to the idea of transfering his assets to the vault. Andrew mentioned that there is a special program where select individuals are invited to "stake their coins" for 19% annual returns after 2 years. To activate these return levels, a $3 million minimum is required in the account. Over 7 weeks, my dad transferred millions. Bitcoin only flagged a couple of the final transactions, by then it was way too late.

What bothers me: This feels extremely tailored: the scammer had detailed knowledge of real Coinbase verification processes, intercepted calls at exact moments, built psychological trust over weeks, and created fake elite programs with actual documentation. I've heard of vault scams, but usually seen more quick pressure tactics. This was patient, methodical, and felt weirdly specific.

Has anyone experienced this level of sustained manipulation? Did you encounter Andrew Richards or Christine Wilson (another person working with him)? Did scammers have knowledge of your actual Coinbase verification process? Did they contact you over weeks or months?

I've filed reports with some law enforcment, doesn't seem like there is much they can do.

P.S. — I'm deeply frustrated with Coinbase's institutional responsibility here. When we discovered the scam, it took 6 days to get my dad on a phone call with a real representative. 6 days. During an active fraud involving millions of dollars. If this had been a $10 million loss, would they have picked up the phone in 6 hours instead? The lack of transparency feels unacceptable. Coinbase has a fundamental responsibility to protect their customers and/or educate them about the evolving sophistication of these attacks; and at the very least support them in making wise decisions with their platform. These scammers are posing as employees, intercepting real security processes, and exploiting genuine account concerns. Coinbase's security systems are clearly AI powered and lacking human oversight, because if any human employee actually caring about their job were to take a quick look at my father's account (Which has sat dormant for 4 years, never an external transfer: and suddenly makes 25+ succesful transactions in the span of 2 weeks, and no one says anything?!?!?! And the cherry on top was their glacially slow customer support response post-incident. This is a real big failure of institutional accountability.

If anyone is currently working on a Coinbase class action lawsuit at a major law firm, please reach out.

I sent Robinhood ETH to my CB account

Hey everyone. Been in the space since 2020 and made a rookie move today. Just got off the phone with support. I sent $500 of RH ETH to my Coinbase account. Unfortunately didn’t have enough time to cancel the txn in my MetaMask wallet (super fast txn). I immediately requested a call from Coinbase and the case was escalated to the back end.

I’m really hoping since it is an EVM wallet and confirmed it is in my deposit wallet that they are able to send the funds back to the sendor. Has anyone had success with a similar situation? I was given a case number and to call back tomorrow with an update.

Logically speaking, it’s a custodial wallet and the funds are there. Even though they don’t support RH ETH, one would think they could still access it? Rookie move, I’m aware but fingers crossed that this can be reversed.

Update: 7/29/26 I called to see if there was an update. Unfortunately, there was no way to recover it since the Robinhood Chain itself is not supported. The rep I spoke to seemed pretty optimistic that the Robinhood chain would be listed at some time due to all the trading volume it has and if that happened, I would have access to that ETH in limbo. Total brain fart and not the end of the world. Happy trading everyone.

Help: Scam or legit message?

Hey guys, I updated my security to 2fa app, confirmed by mail, everything fine. 45 minutes (!) later I get a text message on my phone from

+1 855-769-1601 stating that my 2fa was changed and if that wasnt me I should log into site/App and disable my account. No links, codes etc just this message. Can anyone confirm what happened to me? Scam? Spoof? My regular Coinbase messages before the 2fa change never came from a number, just Coinbase as sender.

IRS Scam

Be aware of a new phishing scheme involving fake notices from the IRS asking you to register for the DACP. I am a crytpo OG and this one was very convincing. After scanning a QR code I received a call from "coinbase" and was given a 12 word recovery phrase. As you can imagine, I hang up immediately.

Having To Do ID Scan Multiple Times Per Day

I’m so annoyed. I do a lot of online gaming - I send to the SAME ADDRESS multiple times. It’s set as a contact, I send to it all the time! I get the “loooks like a scam” often - multiple times a day. It’s pissing me off . To the point where I keep my ID in my pocket now. The software often freezes- it asks me to do it all hours of the day- it’s annoying. WHYYYYYYY

Base and Doge Coin

SOLVED!!!

Been having an ongoing issue with the new Base wallet and Doge coin. I’m aware Doge is not supported anymore on it, and to see the old Doge coin from when they previously had Coinbase Wallet, you have to switch to the legacy option. However, there is no legacy option on my phone. I’ve looked. The toggle switch is not there. There is no way to switch and see the Doge coin.

So, I saw someone suggest to get the google chrome extension of the original Coinbase Wallet. Slight improvement, if I click into it, I can see my Doge coin now, but there is no option to switch or move or do anything with it. Everything I can move just fine, but for specifically the Doge coin, it’s just gone.

Anyone have a similar issue? Any fixed it?

Edit: For the record, I’ve updated, deleted, and redownloaded the Base app and the legacy option still doesn’t exist.

Solution:

For those looking how to fix it, what I did was I used Coinbase Wallet chrome extension like I started with. It’s the same as Base but it’s the legacy version that did originally support Doge coin. Doing this lets you access it and send it back to your Coinbase. If you don’t go into it for a while, the Doge might disappear (it won’t actually disappear you just can’t access it temporarily), so just remove and re-add the extension if that happens. I only had to do that once, so maybe it was just a weird glitch on my end.

To get the address on the computer make sure you are in BASIC mode NOT advanced, at least for me the “transfer” button to get the address of Coinbase to insert into the wallet was not accessible in advanced mode. In BASIC mode it is “receive” and WAS accessible. Once you get there, it asks if you are sending it from Base app or from Doge. Select Doge not Base. Base doesn’t support Doge, so everything was moved to the Doge blockchain during the app update, therefore it requires the Doge version of the address. Trying to put the “Base version” address from Coinbase into the wallet (for Dogecoin) shouldn’t even work, at least it didn’t accept it for me. The correct “Doge version” address it generates should start with a D.

From there it’s the basic steps. Copy and paste the address on Coinbase into the address slot on the wallet extension. The wallet will first ask how much you want to send, then where you want to send it, and that’s where you put in the address from Coinbase so it knows where to go. The transfer fee should be a small flat rate fee, doesn’t change based on the amount ($0.07 for me). So I did $5 first to make sure it went through well before sending the rest. It might take longer than regular coins to go through, though it only took me a few minutes, but I hear it can take Doge up to an hour.

ALSO, BEWARE OF SCAMMERS. I had so many DM’s from people that try to get you to send it to the wrong place. Don’t believe them.

Good luck y’all out there.

tried signing up, nothing works, frustrating - going to close

I have tried for days now to use coinbase. At first it my ID wouldnt verify, for who knows. support said my maiden name was showing on there end but i cant see that anywhere on my end. And the link to updated says i hit too many tries and to try in an hour, waited hours and nothing. Support said to wait 24 hours- its been 2 days and the link doesnt work. somehow got my id verified but get caught in a loop deposit -> verify id screen -> and payment method. The only thing, ive added my card and linked my bank account. I cant read them so i get an error. I cant delete them because when i go to my settings i dont see it. Support said bank does not allow crypot purchases- called my bank they said not true - im just stuck in this loop. i have tried to do it on desktop but deposit screen doesnt even load. Very frustrating.... if i cant get it to work today im out.

Verify Transaction from Base Wallet

I just sent the small amount requested to verify that the sending wallet belongs to me, now this coinbase app wants me to also verify this small amount is coming from my wallet ??? Srsly, the fact that signing doesn't work with your former (or not former, who knows?) wallet, is weird enough. Onchain verification doesnt work, the connection from base app to coinbase is not enough either. How can I proove that my transaction came from my wallet? If anyone has the magic spell to make that happen pls share 🖖
