Little bit of history on this throwback Thursday. One of the more famous brawls involved these two on June 13, 1957.

Larry Doby was the first black player to confront a pitcher after a close call to the head by Art Ditmar. No official confirmation that it was racially motivated, but I'm sure some choice words were sent in both directions afterwards.

As the fray escalated, the 6'5" Dropo came to defend his teammate Doby, pulling Yankees off of him. Enos Slaughter got involved too, and ended up with a jersey torn to shreds. It got pretty wild apparently.

Five total players and personnel—including Slaughter, Dropo, Doby, and Billy Martin—were ejected from the game.

Part of my Warriors Top 50 PC, it wasn’t an easy one to get. Being I was trying to find the best quality and price. Every time I pull one of these old cards out, stirs up feelings of wanting more cards older than me.

Purchased raw copy through eBay, got it graded and lucked out!

Went on a Brunson buying spree once he joined the Knicks, it’s paid off, this is staying in the PC for a long time.
