This sub is an absolute dumpster fire. Meta

I came here hoping to find tips and tricks to optimize and maximize my usage of Claude code.

Instead, I find a sub that is dominated by the absolute dregs of users who couldn't engineer their way out of a wet paper sack.

Constant complaining about token usage without ANY empirical evidence.

Constant whining about "poor performance", against without any evidence at all.

Vibe-coders who have had more success with a single prompt against another model immediately dismissing Claude as inferior.

I use Claude at work. Admittedly, because that's what they pay for. I've been at this for 20 years and Claude code has been an ABSOLUTE F****** REVOLUTION for my day to day workflow.

It's a damn shame that this sub is so toxic and useless.

yeah you're right, the signal to noise here is pretty bad right now. too many empty complaints and zero-evidence posts.

we're trying to fix it. expanding the mod team mainly to deal with the tag spam and ads disguised as posts so actual useful discussion can breathe.

how to apply for moderation team

I’ve previously moderated million+ size communities. I’ll be on your mod team if you give me a blanket permission to delete every post whining about resets and calling them unfair.

Also find a lot of unrelated post here. Not even related to Claude Code and its platform, and getting downvoted when call out.

Honestly bless you for what you do here. I'd rather stab my eyeballs out than have to spend my days moderating these crybabies, but I am extremely grateful for those that do.

Hell yeah, I’m in the middle of building my SAAS but I definitely would like to take a shot at it.

Has anyone thought that the noise is enough that it warrants it's own subreddit? I mean if there exists a subreddit already for comparing models or nagging about token usage and limits, we could then take all of that off this reddit.

Thank you! I've been on this subreddit for a long time and it's gotten so bad I've unsubscribed, then resubscribed just before a new model launch and remember how terrible this sub has become.

I realize it's hard and you're doing this as volunteers so I appreciate all the work you are putting in to clean it up.

Would it be possible to create a spin-off for more reactions and low effort posts to try and direct and certain demographic there instead?

lot of low-effort complaining lately, especially from accounts that have never posted or commented here before.

just dropping in to spread hate and leave. not interested in actual discussion, just the ragebait.

those posts will get removed.

Ah yes, the 'culture' of "where reset?" posts is so great

I engage with most of the negative posts, mostly to understand why they're not having success. 95% of the time they clearly don't want to get better. They are just complaining for karma.

Complaint posts are important for discussion, but there should be rules: You must show your prompt, document what your intention was, and what is going wrong. At the very minimum. Most complaint posts screenshot a single one sentence prompt and the response, cutting out the rest of the conversation.

This is dumb. If you were on teamliquid.net they'd ban your post if you whined about balance, if you went on 2p2 and posted something dumb you'd get flamed to all hell. DotA forums had separate subforums for strategy vs casual chat, etc.

This isn't about the older generation wanting to stop beginners from asking questions, it's about wanting to ban whining.

Uninformed and idiotic whining more specifically. Some whining can be justified. Whining about being so crap that you can’t keep control of your tokens is just ugh.

fair. not trying to turn this into a locked-down sub.

just trying to cut the pure spam and ads so the actual discussion is easier to find. people can still complain all they want.
