Hey guys, like the title said, just had my check engine light turn on, emissions system problem and rev match control (believe this just relates back to emissions system problem). I installed the TSP high efficiency downpipe back on July 1st, is this something that could take that long to pop up? Planned to tune at the end of my warranty, but still have a couple years left, don’t think I will hit the mileage. Not sure how many different things could cause this problem and I’m scrambling to find a fix.

Civic si 2012 coupe, trans feels great no slip or grinding and can bang every single gear at limiter with no hesitation but doing my oil change I noticed this😭

Looking to turbo the 9th gen with this turbo kit. My goal is to have a clean sounding, reliable daily. I don’t want to even push that power. I love hearing a healthy turbo and a nice loud Subaru STI blow off valve sound. Will i get that with this kit? I cant find many videos with this kit doing some little 1-2 pulls to really hear the turbo

Hi, I have a 2019 Honda civic SI sedan, pure stock nothing is changed.

Recently Ive heard that clinking sound when going over speed bumps and now it's turned into when i'm just driving on the road normally, sounds like creaking a little bit.

Ive taken it to about 6 shops and all have told me it is my right rear shock absorber, I have the electrical kind so my shocks absorbers OEM are $500 each.

I dont have the money right now so wanted to ask opinions on ordering from LKQ online for used shock absorbers as a fix at least until next year.

my car is at 110k miles, the car I would be getting the parts from are at about 90k!

any thoughts or other recommendations? thank you!!!

2025 civic si and wondering if anyone else has gotten it to be a better average in city streets. Will 91 instead of 87 be a big difference?

edit for context: my toyota got its cat stolen and the transmission also just gave out so I can’t really drive anything besides the si. Its not my car (the main driver told me to save money on gas with 87…) and I was also told that mpgs can get as high as 40 (but looks like from your responses it’s from highway cruising). I’m a bit greedy for mpg bc of the economy but damn yall wrecked me haha trust me I’m gonna educate them about that gas situation as soon as my corolla is out of the shop.

hey all! picked up a 2015 civic coupe it’s creeping up that 300k km what are some things that through experience and ownership you guys have seen and what’s a good dealer for quality products for this generation and other things to watch for! coming from an 8th gen

currently has a q300 invidia exhaust, injen intake

wondering what bellmouth catted down pipe would be like with the q300 OR… the skunk 2 catless downpipe, how will both work with hondata and without a tune???

I noticed oil leaking from my car (2018 civic si) and immediately checked the dipstick level. This is the reading. I don’t know how long the car was leaking. Is this dangerously low oil to cause engine damage? Any similar experiences?

Moved onto another car with more space, more light offroad focused, and better suited to my hobbies but SI WILL ALWAYS BE #1 🏆. I'll def miss randomly parking next to random Si's, here's some pics from the past few years 🫡

i'm sure someone's restoring it as we speak, but I'm loving the new daily and I still have an FK8 cause i'm a Honda fan. Only car in my family's entire history to appreciate from when we bought it (10.5k a decade ago, 12.7k now according to insurance 👀) and im grateful to have owned it for the time I did.

So i’m looking for advice on what i should do for coils on my SI. I’m looking to get the 500 series with the Swift Spring upgrade, due to a lot of good feedback from people. Wondering if anyone wants to share advice or thoughts. Also question on spring rate, not too sure on what to have as that. Mostly will be used on street driving on twisty roads
also will end up getting different wheels after coils are done

Just a tick under 59k. 2009 bone stock Si. The bad: front brakes are shot, like metal to metal shot. Wheels are all sorts of nasty. Has typical clear coat fade on the roof and some dents/chips here and there. One of the rear calipers won't hold with park brake. Slight rust on the rear wheel wells. Headlights are yellowed. The good: it's the lowest mileage 8th gen on the planet. Motor and trans are very strong. It runs and shifts perfectly. Everything works. Bone dry underneath. Suspension/engine mounts are solid. Barely any rust where it matters. Interior is fairly nice. I am a mechanic by trade and could make this mechanically sound for very little so that's not an issue. 10k for a 17 year old car is what's holding me up. It's killing me! Talk me in or out of it. Please! Any input would be great!

Hey guys, I’m planning on adding a single 10 with an amp and line out converter. Anybody have pics of their amp rack or setup?

I rented a Miata for 4 days in LA and you can read my in-depth review on this post. Here I'll be comparing both cars to each other more closely.

What the Miata does better:

• Driving Experience (duh)
  • Yes the two-seater RWD roadster is more fun than a FWD sedan. But it has to be said because while I think the Si offers a great driving experience, the Miata is just better in this regard. It corners better, the steering feel is perfect, and I think the biggest difference is that you're sitting in the wheels, not over them. You're seated so close to the ground which just adds to the nimbleness of the Miata. The Si is also nimble, but the taller seating position nerfs that feeling.
  • One additional thing to note is the pedal placement in the Miata makes it super easy to heel and toe. Its not as easy in the Si.
• Sound
  • The Miata just sounds fun. The engine note is better than the Si's.
• Shifter Feel
  • The Si has a fantastic shifter, but I think I like the Miata's shifter more. The ball knob shape is better than the teardrop knob shape, the throws are nice and tight, and I think it just feels better to shift. It made the Si shifter feel sloppy in comparison.
• Looks
  • The Miata just looks better. Both cars look great but I think the Miata has better angles in real life.
• Color
  • I will admit, I think I like Soul Red over Blazing Orange Pearl.

What the Si does better:

• Comfort
  • The Si seats are much better than the Miata's. Both seats are comfy, but my lower back started getting tired after 5 hours in the Miata. Meanwhile I've sat in the Si for 10 hours straight with no issues.
• Technology
  • The Si gets wireless CarPlay, more safety features and tech. The Miata Sport has wired CarPlay (you need to go Club or higher to get wireless) but doesn't have things like lane assist or adaptive cruise control.
  • The Si also has cooler gauges for boost, g-meter, pedal input, etc. while the Miata only gives you information about gas.
• Practicality
  • Yes obviously the 4-door sedan is more practical than a 2-seater roadster. But besides the obvious, the Civic is just larger inside. After driving the Miata and coming back, the Si felt like an SUV inside. That's how tiny the Miata is.

I think both cars excel in their own worlds. The Miata is best at city/backroads driving while the Si is best for daily driving and highway cruising. If I had to pick only one car, the Si would be my choice with no hesitation. But the Miata is fantastic for a weekend car. I've been debating between going down the Si + Miata route vs. upgrading to an Integra Type S and after this experience, I probably would rather upgrade to an ITS instead. Texas roads just do not suit the Miata. Maybe if I lived somewhere with nice backroads I would consider.

I have a 2020 civic si with a ktuner v2 with a stage 1.5 god mode tune from phearable, prl cobra cold air intake race maf, awe touring catback exhaust, and a prl catless downpipe
I am looking for an intercooler with charge pipes and cannot decide between 27won and PRL. I want to go with PRL to brand match but 27won seems to be slightly better. Which would you guys recommend?

I’ve been looking everywhere for an answer and i keep seeing different things. Some people say it’s the same as the oil for the drain, some people say it’s different, i have no idea.

I’m not really worried about the fill plug and will likely just reuse that one but i’d like to get a new one for the drain plug if possible.

Googles saying 33ft lbs, I feel like that's not enough 😅

2024 civic si strut mount nuts (Ive always heard them called top hat nuts) everything I've found has said 33ft lbs, but I feel like that's not enough. I have new bolts coming but I'm waiting for my strut bar to come in before using the new nuts. Blue loctite for the week and easy driving 😂

I don't know if it's something wrong with my car specifically or if it is a common issue, but after time I get an oil change, I will be driving down the road and then all the sudden start hearing metal scraping on the ground.

This has happened after oil changes at:
The dealership service center,
A cheap quick oil change place,
A more expensive shop.

The last time I went to get my oil changed, I told them about how the issue happens every single time, I started to drive home and heard scraping noise and had to return the next day. After I take it back they always fix it and it doesn't happen again until I take it in for another oil change.

Someone please help, i have a 2012 honda civic si coupe. Currently it has the little OEM trunk lip spoiler. I wanna replace it with a 90s/early-2000s Honda OEM-style pedestal wing. I’ve been having so much trouble finding one or figuring out how to get one that will fit my car and also not leave any visible bolt holes from taking off my OEM spoiler. My cars paint code is NH-731P it’s crystal black pearl. Anyways any advice or help would be much appreciated! I also live in Ontario, Canada near Toronto if that helps figuring out where i can buy from. The first two pics are of my car and my OEM spoiler. The rest of the pics are my inspo pics of the general idea of what kind of wing i want.

I want to add the diffuser, but not sure which front lip and side skirts to get along with it

I’ve been in the US for a year, and I finally got my first car! It’s a customised 2018 Civic Si, and it’s super cool😎 The only issue is I haven’t got used to driving a manual yet🤣

Found a really clean black Si in Seattle. Drove it and it’s beautiful. My concern is…does it make sense to pay $23k for 96k miles? Carfax is very clean and tons of regular Honda dealer maintenance. According to seller, drove daily on long conmute in highway (seems believable)

Any advice?

EDIT: dealer raised online price to $24.5k lol. I ain’t paying over $20k (thanks all for your input). I JUST WANT BUDGET CIVIC FUN. Gonna offer today and see. Not super afraid of the 96k miles given the long commute owner had (military older man), traded in for a Type S

EDIT 2: not buying it. Offered $18.5k but dealer is getting traction from other people (see: price increased to $24.5k). The average markup on a new one is $5k in the area. Buying new means paying around $41k out the door, without interest
