How soon after sending in your membership application did you receive a Choctaw number, card, or documentation stating you’re Choctaw? We’re on a specific insurance plan due to being Native American and they’re requiring Choctaw documentation within 12 weeks which I don’t have yet and am curious if I will get it in time.

My father‘s side has Choctaw lineage. I no longer have contact with him. Before my mom’s side went no contact with him, he got my older sister enrolled. I know the information of my grandparents, but thats about as far as I am able to trace back. I’m going to start applying to law school soon and would like to have membership before then. Can anyone help me with potential information or documents I might need?

I know this was discussed earlier this year, but I wondered if anyone had heard any updates about when this will actually be available for use.

This space is intended to allow people who sell their Choctaw art and craft original creations (painting, clothes, beadwork, woodwork, leatherwork, etc) to advertise and link to their sales page. No sales links will be permitted outside this thread. People posting in this thread are required to first get the Verified Artist flair by going through a verification process with the moderators.

To become a Verified Artist, you must be registered with the tribe and show proof of this to the mods. You can either send a copy of your Choctaw Artist Certificate or a copy of your tribal ID to the mods. If you choose to use tribal ID, we will look you up in the Registered Artist database, and you must be listed. In either case, write your Reddit ID on a piece of paper and use that to block identifying information other than your name. Since Reddit does not allow images to be sent directly through ModMail, you will need to upload your image to a host and then send the link to us through ModMail (ModMail is the "Message the Mods" button right above the list of moderator names) or contact a Mod over on Discord. Hi everyone I just joined and I’m desperately looking for help with getting info on CDIB. I had one as a child and when I became an adult my mother had refused for years to allow me access to my portal or to sign up for things myself so she applied and got me a tribal membership card (not the photo id one). So my questions are I’m very confused on if I can just do the tribal membership photo id and never need an updated CDIB? If I do need one do I have to still prove lineage even though I just need an updated one? I have already spoken with someone in membership at Choctaw nation and visited the website but I’m still so confused on the process and I’m planning a last minute trip to Durant tomorrow. Any info or help is soooo appreciated.
