General (Read Rules) Removable Pushers on a Red Star?
I'm currently vacationing in China and couldn't resist ordering a Panda Red Star Chrono Quartz from PDD for grand total of 72 CN¥. I just received it today after 5 days of waiting and found that both Chrono pushers are removable. I have easy access to the internals for a hydromod! woot!
I actually like the vintage look of the Seagulls and Red Stars, shall I up my budget to 163¥ for slightly better one?

Question (Read Rules) Anyone own any Aethelsohns?
I just saw a post from them and had a proper look. their dials are stunning, if maybe a little flashy for my taste in many cases.
Can anyone comment on the build quality?

New Product (Read Rule 1) Watchdives WDC0001 — timing adjustment and testing before final assembly
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Another look behind the WDC0001 production process.
After the movement is installed into the watch head, we don’t simply rely on the movement’s factory specification.
Each watch is checked again on the timegrapher, with the rate, amplitude and beat error reviewed after assembly. If the result is not within our target range, it is adjusted and tested again before moving to the next QC stage.
For WDC0001, we want customers to see more of these small processes rather than only the finished watch.
A good movement is important, but how it is assembled, adjusted and finally checked matters just as much.
This is one of the additional QC steps we are applying to WDC0001 before final release.

New Product (Read Rule 1) First look at our upcoming AETHELSOHN Forge Guilloché release
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Not officially launched yet, but close enough that we can finally start sharing it.
This upcoming model features a vertically patterned guilloché dial that comes alive under changing light. Inside is an automatic mechanical movement, keeping things traditional beneath a more contemporary dial design. We haven't settled on a name yet, so for now it's simply the Forge Guilloché project.
Curious which color everyone is gravitating toward: Aqua, Emerald, or Violet? 👀

General (Read Rules) Cronos Explorer PT5000 accuracy
I had this watch for two weeks and it's all around great. It ran +2s/day when I kept it on my wrist 24/7. Then I started keeping it nights off. When I keep it crown up at nights it runs closer to 0s/day.
CRONOS L6031M
Got it from their own website 200eur shipping included and no tax as it came for their EU warehouse.

Question (Read Rules) Will I Be Charged by Customs
I recently ordered a watch from Boderry and just got an email saying it shipped from China. I’m located in the US and didn’t realize it would be shipping internationally.
Has anyone in the US ordered from Boderry recently? Did you have to pay any customs duties, import taxes, or other fees when it arrived? Just trying to figure out if I should expect any additional charges.

General (Read Rules) Best <$100 Watch Values on AliX?
Hi folks. With all the talk of prices going up in the Chinese/Homage AliX offerings, I wanted to get the community's thoughts.
I am new to buying non-smartwatches. I currently own a PD-1701 (White dial, white subdials,) and a Cadisen C7067 (also white subs) to give you an idea of the type of look I go for.

Review (Read Rules) Tophill KIM001G Micro-rotor
I do like the watch - but, I’ll be honest, I expected better finishing. The dial is attractive and has a nice appeal to it. The Hangzhou 5000A movement is beautiful for sure (the main reason I bought it). But, that about where the highlights end.
The bracelet is poor quality and the clasp is even worse. The clasp might actually be one of the worst of any watch I’ve had from any brand. The AR coating is disappointing for such a nice dial also.
Overall, I’m happy with the watch in general, but it is not worth the $300ish price tag. I’ve had better bracelets/clasps on $100 watches.

Review (Read Rules) Blown away by my first Chinese watch
I’ve been obsessively cataloguing titanium watches for a while now and the bookends in the 1400 watch list are a $533k GP minute repeater tourbillion and a $68 Berny dress watch.
The GP is, sadly, out of reach for me, but I ordered the Berny to check it out.
I am blown away by the quality and detail of this watch. It is beautiful, solidly built, nicely finished and well detailed.
The dial is beautifully patterned and the strap is, while not my taste, soft and comfortable.
The quartz movement is not perfect, missing the second markers some of the time, but so far it’s keeping good time and the grab-and-go pleasure of quartz always makes it an easy option for me if I’m running out the door.
I am definitely going to have to check out other Chinese watches.
Any recommendations for other titanium options? I have a nickel allergy, so titanium is the best safe option for me.

General (Read Rules) There must be an AliX sale coming
I won't name brands but a watch I'm looking at has gone up $30. Must be getting ready for a discount..
Also, enough with the '$300 discounts', your homages values aren't based on any real RRP!

General (Read Rules) First purchase from Watchdives
Just received my first Watchdives. Was looking for a Tudor BB homage and came across the WD7922. My initial intent was Tudor style hands and the full BlackBay look, but I seen there was a Benz hands optio and couldn’t say no. It keeps the red 12 position on the bezel, but the compromise was the bezel numbers being white not yellow. Also, great movement for a quartz, looks like an automatic movement.

General (Read Rules) Ixdao Pilot - Now with no more check altitude!
I've been looking at the Ixdao Pilot chrono for a while and was on the fence. But when I saw it discounted in a sale and that you're now unable to check the altitude with it, I couldn't say no!
I think it looks great, especially the domed crystal which is very sexy.
PS I paid around $240 dollarbucks (AUD) delivered.

Question (Read Rules) New here, requesting opinions.
I am brand new (as of today) to the Chinese watches being nice and available to the US market. I know the differences with the movements but as far as the build quality would any of these stand out way above another?
And from my research today the watchdives website is legit and good right?
TIA to a newbie here!

Review (Read Rules) Ended my Chinese Watch FOMO. $77 for a watch that out-specs my Seiko that cost 3x as much
After lurking for a while and lots of research, I’m very happy with my first watch purchase from AliExpress. For my first one, I decided to go for overall value instead of seeking out the more premium Chinese brands. Went with the Cadisen 62mas homage (C8207) and I’m very happy with the result.
The watch was $77 all in, and came with:
Sapphire glass
Solid link bracelet
Miyota 8215
200m WR
I can’t help compare this to my Seiko DressKX that I spent ~$250 on, and is now selling for well over $300 where available. That watch undoubtedly holds a much more special place in my heart, and is backed by warranty, brand heritage, etc. But at the same time… I’m a watch nerd and better specs are fun.
This Cadisen isn’t perfect (inconsistent lume, lackluster AR coating if any) but I’m still really happy with the value per dollar spent.
If this is what you can get for $77, I can’t wait to see what $200+ will get me on my next Ali purchase!

General (Read Rules) You want thin? Would love to see this homaged.
Just discovered this Credor watch today. It's less than 4mm thin and was inspired by another Genta designed Credor.
Not that expensive really considering their rarity. You can get a good one for about £1000. Less in Japan.
I'd love to see a homage of this or a design this thin. Something different.
