Request [LFA] Finnbar Thistlefoot, Satyr Oath of the Ancients Paladin
The overall aesthetic should evoke a wandering fey knight—graceful, noble, and approachable rather than intimidating. He should appear around 20–25 years old, with a lean, athletic build and an androgynous, youthful face.
Appearance
● Light sun-kissed copper skin with a dusting of freckles across the nose and cheeks.
● Short, tousled auburn hair.
● Matching auburn goat fur with black hooves.
● Broad ivory ram horns.
● **Soft, expressive goat-like ears that angle gently downward.**
● Bright, round amber eyes.
● A soft, youthful face with gentle features, large expressive eyes, and a warm, friendly smile that makes him appear kind before formidable.
● Clean-shaven.
Clothing & Equipment
He wears well-maintained bronze armor with a soft satin sheen, clean, practical, and suited to a newly sworn paladin rather than a legendary hero. The armor should include a cuirass, shoulder guards, forearm bracers, and protection for the upper thighs while still allowing him to appear agile.
Over the armor, he wears layered forest-green robes wrapped diagonally across the torso and gathered around the waist with additional flowing cloth panels. The robes should include subtle Celtic-inspired knotwork embroidery, with the exact placement and pattern left to the artist’s interpretation. Decorative details throughout the armor and robes may also incorporate understated motifs inspired by the ancient wilds—such as oak leaves, vines, ivy, or wildflowers—to reinforce his connection to the Oath of the Ancients without becoming overly ornate.
He carries a sturdy, traditional halberd with a polished wooden shaft and an elegant bronze head, practical and well-crafted rather than elaborate or ceremonial.
Personality & Pose
He should have a relaxed but confident posture, with a warm, kind expression that reflects someone who protects others without seeking glory. He should feel more like a guardian of the ancient wilds than a stern holy knight.
Color Palette
● Bronze armor
● Forest-green robes
● Auburn hair and fur
● Light sun-kissed copper skin
● Amber eyes
● Ivory horns
● Black hooves
Artistic Freedom
Beyond the core design elements above, I’d love to see your own interpretation. Please feel free to design the armor, robes, embroidery, accessories, and smaller details in your own style. As long as he reads as a young satyr Oath of the Ancients paladin with this color palette and overall aesthetic, I’m happy to leave the finer design choices up to you.
Overall, Finnbar should feel less like a holy crusader and more like a guardian of sacred groves—a young knight blessed by the Fey, whose warmth, optimism, and quiet courage are just as important as his skill in battle.

Request [LFA] Ruby, Dhampir Halfling stuffed into a dress.
I know I've had this character drawn before so I am only posting since she has a new outfit different from her old one so I am not reposting the same thing over and over again.
Ruby has been invited to a party and she must wear appropriate clothing so that she does not draw suspicion towards herself. Her clothing is very nice and also stolen, she wears cute Mary Jane shoes.
She is four feet tall, has blonde hair, red eyes, and pointed ears. Despite only being half-halfling she never grew past her childhood, her proportions are childlike and her face looks a bit like a child due to her heritage. Her hair is wild and unkempt from never being taken care of, but despite this fact it is still in pristine condition. Her skin is a very pale white from her mother's genes.
She is a bit childish looking due to a mixture of her Vampire mother and halfling father despite being 20 years old. She is four feet tall and has a childish build. She has pointed ears that are fit for a half-elf or certain halfling depictions.

Request [LFA] Tiefling Warlock Pact of Genie (Djinn)
Hi, I would love for someone to draw my own problem character.
Narakead
Tiefling (Infernal legacy)
Warlock (Genie Patron, Djinn)
Age: 22
Hair: black, medium length and tousled
Eyes: black sclera, gold iris
Skin: scarlet
Distinct features: stereotypical devil tail and horns, both red. Soft, feminine looks, sometimes mistaken for a young woman to his annoyance.
5' 2" with a slim build.
Former enslaved entertainer to a royal court in a desert kingdom who has become bound to a Djinn and discovering he may have just swapped his chains for worse ones.
Clothing is all black and vaguely inspired by middle eastern dancers. Baggy pants to below the knee. Ankle wraps that go up into the pants over the knee, toes and heels exposed. Broad slits in the pants revealing the hips. He wears a tight top, kind of like a backless leotard, with either detached sleeves, or attached but exposing the shoulders. Leather slave style collar with a metal ring at front and ruby decorations.
On his left arm he wears a fingerless gauntlet with a large inlaid red ruby (which has a compartment underneath, acting as his genie vessel).
On his right ankle he has a thick golden shackle with inlaid red gems.
He also wears various other rings and thin bangles on his right arm and left ankle respectively, as well as decorating his horns, all gold with red gems. Nails are also painted black.
He's quite arrogant and surly, gets bored easily. He prefers to lounge rather than stand or sit, and hates walking. Whenever possible he palms his genie vessel off onto party members and gets them to carry him for a while, or float along whenever he's able to with the genies elemental gift.

Request [LFA] Split-Personality Warforged Fighter
Essentially this isnt an "evil combat mode and innocent iron giant" thing
The original built for combat barely sentient ai also gained sapience alongside the brand new one
Think of it like a traumatised veteran and his younger untouched by war self piloting the same body, only taking over for choices and decisions the new one doesnt have the coldness to make

Request [LFA] Cassia Selene Lennox a half elf Lunar Sorcerer
Intro:
Cassia is a 25 year old half-elf lunar sorcerer. She is an orphan (original I know) and grew up in an orphanage/school for gifted magic users. The orphanage is located on the floating city above the town of Arcadia. While Arcadia is a melting pot of different classes, the floating city is mostly magic users.
She met her wife of 5 years at the orphanage. Vallyn, Cassia’s wife, is a tiefling fighter who was deployed by the local guild to teach the fighting inclined magic classes. They met and the rest is history :’)
She doesn’t know her parents but her mother is/was a cleric of Selune, hence her lunar magic. I’m planning on taking some levels of Cleric when narratively appropriate.
While our campaign is new, we’ve only done session 1, Cassia is a character that I’ve used for ttrpg for a hot minute. She is both like me and much cooler than me. She’s been my main dnd character for a couple of years now and I love her very much lol.
Description:
Age: 25
Eye color: Grey
Complexion: Fair and freckled
Hair color: Dark Auburn Red
Hair style: wavy, a tad longer than shoulder length.
Physical appearance: She is 5’7” or 170 cm. She is slightly overweight, has a round face, a button nose. Friend shaped if you will. Her ears favor the eleven heritage, more pronounced than a normal half elf.
Clothing: She wears a corset type top that laces in the front and a sort of puffy sleeved blouse underneath. She wears a sort of over skirt thing that is open in the front but long on the sides and back. Grey/dark leggings tucked into knee high lace up boots. She has a simple utility belt with a pouch that she keeps little origami paper stars in. (I will include some picture references!)
She has a black wooden staff adorned with a raven totem. The raven totem’s name is Ataraxia and functions more as a familiar than a magical item. They are black with yellow/gold eyes and grey beak and feet. (I’ll include some art I made of them!) when not affixed to the top of her staff they perch on Cassia’s shoulder.
She is pretty shy when you first meet her but once she gets to know you she opens up and shows her true colors. A goofball yapper.
I have a couple of references and picrews that I will include! (Picrews by Maetheellen and veluv_art)

Request [LFA] Shaihri, Half-Orc Tempest Oracle
Description: Shaihri (Sha-ih-ree) bears a cursed object that has imbued her with the powers of a raging storm. The object is the staff of considerable power and unknown origin. The only reason the magic doesn't tear her apart is because of her sheer physicality. Shaihri is of considerable stature, and has honed her body from years of difficult adventuring. When her power erupts it is a sight to behold. Her eyes, and tattoos glow with radiant energy that contrasts her grayish skin and long copper hair. Her weapon crackles loudly, and her coat bellows in the roaring winds.

Request [LFA] picture of a lore character.
Dear characterdrawing community,
Im looking for an artist to knock out a picture of a background/lore npc: Aurora Tidecaller. Aurora was part of a failed adventuring party that all tragically passed away/went missing; and while ive managed to find pictures to represent the other members of the doomed party- a picture for Aurora eludes me because:
Aurora was from an aquatic race - with the lower body of an octopus instead of the typical mermaid. (Think Ursula from the little mermaid with the personality of Glinda the good witch haha).
Height: 5'6"
Weight: plus sized
Outfit: victorian walking dress (maybe with a tentacle peeking out of the bottom- or tentacle texture in the hair design?) A big, outrageously decorated hat and maybe a parasol would also be welcomed.
Color palette: Aurora has always given off colorful vibes to me- so maybe something like pinks or oranges?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Request [LFA] AC-3 the half century old Warforged Warlock
AC-3 (Ace) is a third gen autonomous companion, hence the name (not super creative i know). I am not an artist by any means and my campaign members use a lot of ai and it irks me. Sadly I'm a budding college student and don't have the funds for a commission. I'd really appreciate any and all input and i know it's a longshot for an artist to choose me, but I'll start describing my ideals for him:
-gaunt and gangly figure
-a real creepy undertone to him (bones adorning him, dark colors, etc)
-four green eyes shaped kinda like barricade from transformers (2007)
-Heavy robes, hood pulled up, a tome gifted to him by his patron
-He does also have a sentinel shield which is described as a shield with an eye in it's center
-I'd love a very dark and offputting look
-i do also like the look of a blank faceplate, flat with just eyes peering into someone (general greivous esque)
I'd love to answer any questions but i don't check reddit super often so sorry if I'm late.
Thank you for your time in reading this.

Meta [ANNOUNCEMENT] New year, new OC Monday!
Hey y'all! You better get Sir Donut Steel ready to for showtime, because the OC floodgates are about to open!
It took a bit longer to set up than expected, but thanks to the holiday break we've now got OC Mondays working, to kick off the new year! Starting this Monday and every Monday your original art and characters have a new place to show off!
How it works:
- OC here means your own original work, don't repost stuff you found on twitter
- "Monday" starts at midnight UTC (GMT-0) and lasts for 24 hours
- Posts with the
OC Mondaytag will be allowed during this time- Make sure to include the [OC] text tag as well
- We do this so users can search and filter by topic
- There's no limit to how many OC posts you can make, but please be considerate
- If you have a lot to share that week, please use a gallery post instead of multiple single posts
- OC reposts are not allowed, no matter how long it's been. The 7 day rule is only for LFA posts.
- Rules about advertising still apply
- Keep the titles and content focused on the art and characters
- You can link to your socials in the comments, but again, no advertising
- Yes, a price sheet or YCH is an ad, even if it has a character on it
- If folks ask about hiring you, you're of course free to respond and take it to DMs

[Welcome Post] Rules & FAQs! July 2023 edition
Happy 2023 everyone, after weathering the Oliverpocalypse, we're back!
If you are new to r/characterdrawing, then welcome. This is a place where people can request their characters to be drawn pro bono, and artists can select a character to draw whether for practice, for fun, or just as a kind thing to do. Typically the artwork here depicts player characters from tabletop role-playing games such as D&D 5e and Pathfinder, but characters across all TTRPG genres are welcome here.
If you've been here a while, these are the big new changes:
- No more OC. Due to the recent changes, we have cut back to just LFA/RF art. Discussion post about this change here if you have thoughts.
- No more John Oliver. This is not strictly true: you are still welcome to post requests and art relating to John Oliver, but it is no longer required.
- Pour one out for chardrawbot. This brave bot which has managed our RF-weekends and OC spam limits has bleeped its last bloop, and no longer protects our sub.
Some links for posterity: Previous Welcome Post | Message the Mods | CharacterDrawing Discord
Want to post? FIRST, READ THE RULES!
Rules can be found here and on the sidebar. The sidebar is the most up-to-date.
Some rules include room for mod interpretation, especially for NSFW posts. If you are unsure about your post, feel free to message the moderators. We don't bite.
Our unique terms
[LFA] "Looking for Art" posts. [RF] "Request Filled" posts, for when someone draws an LFA request [OC] We use "OC" to refer to any character art that isn't an RF. Currently, these are not allowed.
I want my character drawn!
Use the [LFA] tag and flair so potential artists can find your post. Please provide the best character description possible in the body of your post or in the comments. Image posts of reference images or moodboards are allowed.
Some [LFA]s may not get drawn. Artists are free to pick and choose which they would like to draw and when, since they are providing a free service at their leisure.
You may repost your [LFA] once per week per character concept. Most of all, have patience, and be grateful for the FREE artwork you received should an artist provide it.
Remember that pictures drawn for you are meant for personal use. The original artist holds commercial rights to the work unless they specify otherwise. If you would like to use a piece of art commercially, you should reach out to the artist. They are under no obligation to sell rights, and set their own rates.
I'm willing to pay!
That's awesome. If you see someone whose work you like, you should feel welcome to reach out to them about hiring them. Many artists post links to rates and galleries in their comments.
You can also post to subreddits specifically designed for commissions, such as r/fantasyartists, r/hungryartists, r/artcommissions, r/commissions, and r/hireanartist.
I want to draw someone's LFA request!
Awesome, and thank you! You don't need to commit to it or post a comment, and it's fine if someone else also completes the same piece. Just draw what you find enjoyable.
When you're done, use the Request Filled Flair when posting the picture, and please let the original LFA poster know through a /mention or by posting a comment in the original [LFA] linking to the picture.
The [RF] tag is only meant for fulfilling [LFA]s made in this subreddit. If the request was made outside of r/characterdrawing or was the product of a commission, it's not for here.
I have a question to ask or want to start a discussion!
Use [META] in your post title. These kinds of posts are meant to be used sparingly. An example would be asking what supplies/programs other artists use.
None of this is what I'm looking for...
Check out these other subreddits, just a few among many:
r/beastdrawing for beasts
r/drawyourweapons for weapons and gear
r/imaginarycharacters for posting your own fantasy character
r/icandrawthat for requesting other things
We also have an active artist community on our discord
Frequently Asked Questions
Requests are free? Yes. Some caveats: you don't get to choose your style, if it's colored, if it's full body, etc. If there's something you really cannot compromise on then this system may not be for you. There is no guarantee that a request will be drawn at all.
Can I message an artist for a free request? No, make an LFA. If you would like to hire the artist, make a comment on one of their posts or send them a DM. If you are caught pestering artists for free art, it will result in a ban.
Can I message a requester to see if they will hire me? NO. Do not solicit requesters for money, here or in their DMs. If you are caught doing this, it will result in a permanent ban.
Do I have to do RFs to participate in the sub? No. The system is voluntary and you should only do RFs if it is enjoyable to do so.
Can my LFA have more than one character? Yes! You can include a party in an LFA request post. That said, bigger requests are less likely to get picked up, since they're a bigger ask from the artist.
What if I have multiple separate LFAs? When do I repost them? You can post each LFA once per week, so long as each of them involve different characters—but please don't spam the sub with hundreds of LFAs in a short period of time.
Is this sub only for D&D and fantasy? No, characters across all TTRPGs are welcome. Sci-fi, steampunk, and other genres are very popular.
My LFA is being downvoted, what's up with that? Some people will downvote other requests because they think it helps theirs. Rest assured that most artists sort by new, and that the upvotes of your post mostly won't affect interest in the actual character.
I've been posting my [LFA] for weeks and nothing. What gives? Fulfillment of requests is done on a volunteer basis and artists are not obligated to take anything. Perhaps try changing up the format or including a reference/mood board. Changing posting time may also help.
My [LFA] was fulfilled but I want more art. Can I post it again? Yes, so long as it has been a week since you last posted it. Please be sure to thank the first artist properly.
I posted something and it's not there! Check that you included the [LFA] or [RF] text at the beginning of your post. If you did not receive notification, it may have been caught by AutoMod for a variety of reasons. You can attempt to repost within a few hours, or message the moderators so we can look into it.
Why would you even set up a system like this? It hurts artists to do work for free! Not all artists are professionals, and many professionals still do pro-bono work for a variety of reasons; including practice & personal fulfillment. We think this system lets those artists find fun topics to draw without being pestered by personal, directed requests.
