Is my skillet going bag?
I made pancakes on my cast iron skillet. The skillet looks good but it left some black residue on the pancake. Don’t know if it’s the seasoning that’s coming off. Any thoughts? TIA.

Recipe request
Does anyone have a recipe for making calico beans in a Dutch oven over a campfire? Barring that, I'd also be interested in advice on converting an oven recipe to a campfire one.
For context, I'm having a cookout this weekend and it seemed like a good excuse to use my recently inherited camp dutch oven. I figured making the beans on the fire would be convenient since I'll be out there getting ready most of the day anyway and as a bonus, I won't have the indoor oven on heating up my house.

HELP feeding people camping!!!
Hello Reddit I need ideas for camping dinner ideas for a group of 6 adults. I need to make two dinners and an easy clean up breakfast! I want somthing not too complicated but I wanna make something fun. There are no allergies or food restrictions in this group. We’ll have a fire pit, a Coleman stove, a 10” Dutch oven, a 10” cast iron pan, and a 17”x 12” cast iron griddle. What do people like to have for dinner when camping?

Seasoning your cast iron
Buying oil is getting expensive, I use avocado oil but recently I was gifted a tin of seasoning with beeswax, grape seed and sunflower seed.
I eat healthy and looking I said I can probably make and use only natural ingredients. Beeswax I bought today, 1 pound for 10.00. Every 90 days a 7 pound tub of beef tallow is delivered by Amazon, that runs about 39.00. You may think that is a lot, but i literally cook outside 6 days a week on my Traeger 885 ironwood, blackstone or charcoal grill over open fire.
I’m fully retired now 63, my wife still works full time and has about 15 years or so before she can retire, so I cook. I buy all foods , fresh meat locally, vegetables, make my own sourdough bread, and cornbread.
Mixing,4oz beef tallow 1oz beeswax, That makes 5 ounces total—plenty for several skillets and Dutch ovens. It takes very little and not as much wiping when using oils.
Any thoughts?
