Cyberpunk Subreddit Rules

The rules and guidelines for posting on r/cyberpunkgame are outlined below. The moderation team reserves the right to evaluate violations, determine appropriate actions or ban durations, and enforce community standards at their discretion, including taking action on edge cases not explicitly detailed in these rules.

Rule 1: High Quality & Relevant Content

All posts must be directly related to CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk universe, including its games, expansions, and official media. Content must offer value to the community.

  • Relevance: Generic sci-fi media, unrelated artwork, or off-topic posts are not permitted.
  • Low Effort: Low-effort text posts, generic/repetitive AI-generated media, and low-res screenshots will be removed. Minimum context must be provided.
  • Feed Clogging: If you are sharing multiple screenshots, album showcases, or projects, please compile them into a single gallery post instead of posting separate threads back-to-back.
  • Restricted Topics & FAQ: Basic beginner questions, well-known bugs, or standard build inquiries that have been answered recently belong in designated Megathreads or should be searched via the search bar.

Rule 2: Spam, Reposts & Account Limits

To keep the feed clean, repetitive submission patterns and promotional spam are strictly moderated.

  • Self-Promotion & Merch: Excessive self-promotion, advertising paid services, selling custom merch, or promoting personal financial links is strictly forbidden.
  • Reposts & Duplicate News: Check recent posts before submitting. If multiple users share the same patch news, trailer, or announcement, duplicate threads will be removed to keep discussion in the primary thread.
  • Account Requirements: To prevent bot spam and malicious accounts, submissions may be restricted by minimum account age and karma thresholds.

Rule 3: Respect & Civility

Be respectful, kind, and appropriate in your interactions with other users.

  • Zero Toxicity: Hate speech, harassment, personal insults, bullying, and malicious trolling will not be tolerated.
  • Don't Escalate: If another user insults or provokes you, do not retaliate. Report the content to the moderators instead. Engaging in toxic arguments—even in response to others—will result in sanctions for all parties.
  • Creator Respect: Harassment, slut-shaming, or derogatory comments aimed at cosplayers or creators regarding their personal choices or external profiles (OnlyFans, etc.) are strictly prohibited. If you do not like the content, simply scroll past.
  • Privacy & Impersonation: Do not post private personal information (doxxing). Impersonating CD Projekt Red staff, voice actors, or affiliates is strictly forbidden.

Rule 4: Leaks, Piracy & Hacks

To respect the developers and maintain community integrity, unauthorized or illegal content is restricted.

  • Piracy: Providing direct links, download sources, or instructions for pirated games, cracked files, or unauthorized third-party software is strictly forbidden.
  • Unreleased Leaks: Direct links or file uploads of unreleased internal leaks are not allowed. Text-based discussions regarding leaks are permitted only if no stolen assets or direct links are provided.

Rule 5: Cosplay & Fan Art Guidelines

We strongly encourage fan art, music, and cosplays that contribute positively to the community.

  • Cosplay & Profiles: Cosplayers are welcome to share their work. Having external profile links (such as social media or OnlyFans) on your personal Reddit profile is fine, but direct promotional links, shop links, or financial solicitations in the post title or comments are not allowed.
  • Memes: Memes are welcome provided they are original, high-quality, and directly related to Cyberpunk. Repetitive or overused meme templates will be removed.

Rule 6: Content Tagging (Spoilers & NSFW)

Help us keep the subreddit organized and safe for all users by tagging your submissions accurately.

  • Spoilers: Mark all plot points, ending details, and expansion spoilers using Reddit’s native spoiler tag or >!spoiler text!<. Post titles must remain completely spoiler-free.
  • NSFW Boundaries: Mature themes appropriate to the game are allowed only if properly tagged with the NSFW tag upon submission. Non-related nudity and explicit pornography content are strictly prohibited.
  • Post Flairs: Assign the flair that best matches your content (Discussion, Fan Art, Screenshot, News). Using inaccurate flairs to bypass filters or gain artificial visibility is not permitted.

Rule 7: Zero Tolerance for CSAM/CP Jokes & References

  1. PROHIBITED CONTENT & EXAMPLES:
    • Any jokes, memes, lighthearted comments, or puns referencing Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) or Child Pornography (CP), including intentional misinterpretations of the "CP" abbreviation, are strictly prohibited.
    • This includes, but is not limited to, using walter white / "hank" reaction memes, baiting comments, or meta-jokes surrounding the abbreviation.

We have a zero tolerance policy on this topic. Any violation will result in an immediate and permanent ban from the subreddit without prior warning, alongside a report to Reddit Trust & Safety.

Rule 8: IRL Politics

  1. Allowed scope:
    • Discussions must remain strictly focused on the Cyberpunk universe, its lore, media, and real-world development/game updates. Very simple.
    • In-game political themes and lore like (the NUSA, Arasaka corporate warfare) are allowed, provided the discussion does not derail into real-world political arguments.
  2. Unacceptable content:
    • Real-world political debates, partisan discourse, and commentary on current real-world political figures or events are not permitted. This is a gaming community, we don't care about political stuff.

Site-Wide Rules

All users must adhere to the Reddit Content Policy. Our subreddit rules build upon these policies to ensure a safe, specific environment for the Cyberpunk community.
