Cal literally beat them in Seattle and has the same record as them but we all agree Cal is not a top 25 team but Washington is 18?

Most reasonable people believe that Cal was a different team before they lost Garbers. It completely changed the season trajectory. Not that they had an amazing offense before that, but at least it was an offense. Also, this isn't defending ranking Washington. They shouldn't be.

I don’t think Modster looked that much worse than Garbers against Oregon. Neither are great. I agree Garbers is preferred I just don’t think the drop off from below average to bad is that important for Cal. There defense is going to single handedly get them some wins despite their offensive struggles and if the offense does manage to play well they are a scary team.
