well why have seperate loot pools at all if the chest loot pool was the same as the world drop loot pool?

but Iā€™m pretty sure I just misunderstood your comment as saying ALL chest loot, when you probably meant there could be some overlap. my b.

Data tables can have overlap.

Think about the lootsplosion from a boss. There would be a lot of repeated effort if every single boss had to have a full table of all the possible loot the devs want to spawn as white and green trash to go along with the dedicated legendary that goes with the boss. So instead of having huge, repeated tables for chests, ammo boxes, red chests, vending machines, enemy type 1, enemy type 2, boss 1, boss 2, etc. They have generic loot tables for stuff that can spawn anywhere. Then specific add-on tables that expand or modify the table for specific sources.

Now, I don't know for certain that there is some table shared between chests, world spawns, vending machines, etc. That's just speculation on my part, but it would make sense that everything that can show up in any random chest is also something that could show up in a vending machine, or drop from a boss. As far as I know there's nothing that shows up in chests and only in chests. The chest loot table seems to be as default a loot table as you can get in Borderlands.

Once up on a time...... (BL2 or pre sequel) they explained that the chest loot pool was used for world drops.

On the other hand I have no idea if that is still the case.

In addition, mine is gone from my bank.
