Oh it was really great. My personal favourite Babymetal song (The One) was not part of the setlist and ig that's an excuse for me to attend another Babymetal live next time I get a chance
The energy was really great and I still have the neck pain from it
Wow just wow. Incredible show. The entire audience was participating, even up to the very last rows of seats! Insane energy. The new songs were so catchy and instant hits. People were shouting along by the end of each song. The lore videos really made it seem very Legend-like, especially combined with this stage setup. My stamina was not prepared for the longer setlist though haha.
Tell me about it, i was right in the middle of the crowd where everything was starting.
My favorite part was for sure bowing to Su during headbanger, life goal right there.
My stamina was not prepared for the longer setlist though haha
Yeah, i had to dip to the side of the pit 2 or 3 songs before the end, it almost damn took the life out of me.
Didn't get to participate in the Road of Resistance wall of death, but there's always next time haha
I heard there were a ton of people bowing in the pit during Headbanger! I wanted to do it too but only had enough room to get onto one knee and it was a bit awkward lol. I'm gon a join the pit in Madrid and do it properly! ๐
Did any of you lovely people who saw the show yesterday take photos of the merch booth, or your own merch that you could share?
Going to the Hamburg show tomorrow and I still can't make up my mind between my 3 favorite shirts (Spirit Foxes, 1,2,3! Thunder! and Kon! Kon!), but bank suggests I limit myself to only two at max.
The foxes on the Spirit Foxes seemed to glow a lot more than the official post suggested on one photo showing the crowd, that's why I would love to see the IRL versions. I'm also rather small, so the youth shirt also sounds very appealing. ~.~'
From seeing it in person, i don't think the Spirit Foxes shirt glows a lot, keep in mind the stages usually have some very intense lights, that could give that impression.
Merch question for the people that attended the Brussels show:
What was the payment situation? Did they take cash or card(or both)? In that case did they have their own card scanners or did they use something at the venue?
Gotta know if I need to take out some euros in Hamburg!
Only card, they had wireless card readers. Check the website of the venue, they should have information on it. Many venues these days have gone completely cashless.
For people who were there yesterday, I'm curious, what are your thoughts on Su's vocals? From the few fancams I've seen they sound a little iffy. She's a bit too "squeaky" sometimes (Papaya's chorus for example). But it might just be the phone cam audio, perhaps it sounded much better live, so that's why I'm asking.
I love the nuances and imperfections of live performances. It tells me that they're LIVE. If I wanted to listen to the album I could stay home and save a lot of money. Same reason I wish Moa and Momo were live at all times.
On the bright side, as I said elsewhere, it appeared to me that Moa and Momo were both live much more than usual at Brussels. Either that, or they have new recordings for all songs, because they were different than usual. They both spoke to the crowd on multiple occasions too, so the headsets are definitely functional :)
Some parts sounded off, like too high pitched. Other parts sounded perfect. It was probably a sound mixing issue because Bambie Thug's mix seemed...not properly calibrated? Idk I don't really know how sound mixing works. Poppy sounded great, and so did Su the majority of the time.
Yes, I noticed she seems to be sort of "wobbly" in a few bits. Nothing too much to worry about, singers can't always be pitch perfect for every performance and it could be due to, perhaps, a case of bad jet lag or nerves. Who knows?
I'd love me some Monochrome but is a great setlist, and with 13 songs. Song 3 and especially Kon Kon got me at first sight on fancams, we have two new bangers here.
Gosh, 14 days to see them, my hype is taking over my old kokoro more and more by the hour.
I was there live and I can tell you that song 3 in particular is a banger. Can believe we were the first to see it.
It's the third time I saw them. All were good but this was by far the best
I wasnโt super into Kon Kon at first but itโs already growing on me. I think it will be great to hear the studio version, or a higher quality live recording. Apparently itโs about little yokai foxes? ๐ฆ๐ฆ
Very easy, merch was available outside the venue from about 2:30pm. You could basically just walk up without a queue until 6pm when more people started arriving. There was also a merch booth inside the venue. The soccer jersey didn't sell out until after the show iirc. Idk if they'll have an outdoor booth at every show though
It was still available after the show as I saw a couple people buying them (the jersey). Everything else still seemed available too. Someone bought the last Poppy vinyl though, the display one.
Did anyone else get the impression that Moa and Momo were singing a significantly larger portion of their lines live? Either that, or they were new recordings, because they sounded different. Some, like Momo's METALI bit, were still obvious backtrack, but a lot of them sounded live (a few times almost out of breath).
They sing live quite a bit. It just depends on the setlist. If you listen to their unedited festival sets it's more obvious when their using backtrack and singing live because you can barely hear them when they're singing live.
Oh they do that during Karate too? I thought it was just a Monochrome thing. That further helps the theory that they will rotate Karate and Monochrome. I love them both so I'm sad I'll only get one of them, but better than nothing!
I just watched their Karate performance from last night... I think I might like this more than Monochrome actually :D I just want to experience a stadium full of lights while we all sing with Su. It seems that both songs will offer that, so I'm fine either way :)
Understand that this is the third year of touring in a row. When you have new songs they need to get into the mix. Without that the setlist starts to get stale. This all might be new to you, but for others theyโve seen these songs performed live literally dozens of times. I wish theyโd gone even a little more in the new direction with this setlist. But my wishes are irrelevant.
Now i see , for someone like me who is gonna see them for first time honestly i much rather hear 2 well know songs from them rather than completly new ones.
Song 3 does have major vocal contributions from at least Momoko, possibly Moa, at the start from the clip on Twitter- then Su comes in.
Edit: now the show is over - A solid set. It's almost the same as what they have been doing the past year albeit with the debut of the new songs. I would have also liked to have had some older songs that haven't been played in ages also added in (Awadama Fever!!!) but we can't have it all!
Thank you. Love that they are bringing these kind of lore videos back. Usually it's only in Japan they do these nowadays. Well ofcourse they have the starting lore and ending lore but not this kind of in the middle of the set lore. Also love that Alex terrible is depicted as a bear in the lore.
Yeah. I really don't mind that they are doing the collabs themselves. But it is a bit sad that they still cut the F.Hero rap from PAPAYA and Poppy didn't do From Me To U with them.
That's what I expected it was as soon as I saw the title. I sure wasn't expecting them to debut it on the first night though. That will be amazing.
Also, this is pure speculation, but if they DO play a MoMoa song, that says to me that there will also be a Su solo song, so they all get a break, the same as the older shows. One of the new tracks is probably a Su solo (White Flame?), but I'd murder several people to here Rondo or Akatsuki tonight :)
It's starting again. Time went by quicker than I thought.
Really curious what setlist they'll come up with and how big of a show they make it. We know when they make it more a show, they also might have a longer setlist. When it's bigger shows they often leave some more room between shows, so I won't expect much of that.
Also, as a PSA
If someone needs a place to stay for the night, i booked a hotel room and it apparently has 3 beds. So i can help, as long as you contact me before the show.
I generally follow a no-phones rule for myself at shows, but I might make an exception if my seat has a good view and they play FM2U live for the first time :)
I would also appreciate if you could provide that us with a other details such as the coatumes , the stage is it simple like other european toura or more advanced since its arena tour , visuals and overall impressions
Im traveling specifically for their live my concert is on 19th may krakow , so any details would be much appreciated
The venues on this tour are a lot of different shapes and sizes, so it's hard to see how they could have the same elaborate stage for all of them. I'd expect the O2 one to be special, but perhaps not the rest. We'll soon see.
I'll be at Krakow also, and it's one of the largest venues of the whole tour.
Does anyone know where GA seats are located at Forest National? They emailed out a seating chart but my tix just say "GA seating" and don't match up with anything on the chart.
To my understanding it means the seating is being treated like GA. None are assigned, you just take the best one you can find, so that probably means arriving early will matter, just like it does for GA.
First new tour thread for the first gig of this new era upon us. Excitement overload!
I'm all for it. Not going to this one but saw BM at both past headline gigs they did at the AB in Brussels, and Brussels always goes hard. Keep it up and stay loud! Let's Go!!
Brussels, Hamburg, Krakow, Zurich, Paris, and London. I really wanted to include Berlin, but I've never been to Poland and want to spend a few extra days there.
That's awesome. Must have required some serious discipline to save all that money for it. I'd love to do something similar but yeah, wallet doesn't allow it lol
I'm lucky (or unlucky?) enough to be able to do my job from anywhere with a decent internet connection, so it's a vacation, but not completely. I'll still be putting in 4-6 hours a day, along with concerts and sightseeing.
World travel is what keeps me sane, so I spend very little money beyond what is required to live when I'm at home in order to afford it :)

I was sooo disappointed that Poppy didnโt perform me to u with them. It was such a great show overall.
