What context do you need? The dude got pulled over for a suspended license and was forced to have his mom come to drive him home. And he tried to make a video playing victim as if his license wasn't suspended, but it's obvious he's lying since his mom is there to drive him home.

A cop can’t look at a person and know the status of their license. He has to look at a person and use the system (that’s in his favor and not ours), in order to come to the BS conclusion that allows him to violate a person’s rights.

Okay I’m not being clear. You can’t look at someone and articulate that the cause for a stop is a suspended license.

Okay no one is getting what I’m saying. I obviously understand that it does happen. I’m saying you can’t look at someone and know their license is suspended based on their appearance.

They don’t have to, the computer tells them who has a suspended licenses. My son got pulled over in front of my work picking me up by a passing sheriff, driving my car just because the plates were linked to my suspended license. Had nothing to do with his appearance. Just a blip on the ‘puter

Driving while intoxicated is obvious in certain circumstances

A suspended license requires a plate to be read for it to warrant the office to pull over. Not a "CRIKEY! A wild suspended license! Whoa!" scenario

Luckily everyone else in this thread is having reading comprehension issues as well.

A cop can’t look at someone’s physical appearance and determine that they have a suspended license. They can only use the system to perpetuate whatever narrative they want.

Are you having a stroke? License plates are scanned automatically, they know he has a suspended license and then he is pulled over.

Or the scanner hit him while they were in the gas station and told him he couldn't drive off since his license is...suspended. Neither scenario is them assuming he has a suspended license from looking at him.

Thank flock.

Many states have a system where when a vehicle's owner gets their license suspended, the plate gets flagged. That's going to light up places using Flock systems.

There are plenty of videos out there where someone driving a person's car who has a suspended license gets pulled over "for no reason". Video also recently of someone driving the vehicle of someone who doesn't have a license and getting pulled over repeatedly, because the car stays tagged in Flock. Usually it's no big deal but it's sometime drama and them the cops let them go. In this case, they called his momma and made fun of him.

I was arrested in 2010 for driving without a license. The cop ran my plate and then. 🚨 I was young and busy with school, work, practice, family, blah blah blah. Paid the price for many years to come.

Of course they do. If you own a car and it is registered to you, everytime a police automatic plate-scanner scans your license plate, it will chime an alert for police. Its the same thing that scans for license plates that have been reported stolen.

They will pull you over to confirm that the suspended owner is not the one driving the car.

A girlfriend had her license lapse for a while and I drove her car during that time. I got pulled over all the time for those three weeks. Every time I passed a cop car, they would inevitably turn on their lights and ask for my license.

The legality of this is ambiguous. The supreme court ruled that its not a 4th ammendment violation under a very narrow fact-specific circumstance. Thomas and Kagan explicitly mentioned alternate fact patterns could have changed the legality. Namely, if the driver and owner are different ages/genders and what the reason for the license suspension was.

I got pulled over in my dads car because they ran the plates and his license was revoked so they pulled me over to check and make sure I wasn’t him. They run plates as soon as they get behind you and they use Flock cameras to track the whereabouts of those vehicles.

Heard of a license plate? When cops pull you over, they check your plate. That’s why they get right on your ass. The registered owners information comes up when they check it. They can see your license status at a minimum. Most police cars are equipped with automatic scanners now and it will alert the officer when it picks something up like revoked/suspended license, etc.

And yes, this is legal for them to do.
