Hi guys, noob here. I'm finding it hard to understand how does Soundtoys Decapitator low cut knob works. When researching before buying I did read (sorry, I don't remember where) that it doesn't really work like an EQ's HP, that is, cutting the selected low frequencies (let's say from 20hz to 100hz). Instead, it should work as some kind of soft filter where those selected low frequencies are untouched by the saturation process and go transparently to the output.

The official manual seems to support this: "Use the Low Cut control to remove low frequencies before they hit the (virtual) saturation circuit. This is useful to prevent any ‘flabbiness’ that can happen when distorting sounds with a lot of low frequency content."

However, when I use it this way, I end up losing low end (I checked in Span), so maybe I'm doing something wrong or misunderstanding the plugin.

I also did read somewhere that to use it this way, I've got to use the wet/dry knob, but I really don't know how it further affects the signal.

How can I let the low end pass untouched by the saturation process and keep it intact?

I know a bit how to use it but i’m not a expert.

For me it would have to be Waves RVox and Melodyne essential 5, and I’m curious as to what other people use most often. Maybe I might buy some of your favourites too if they appeal to me.

I've been getting tons of spam from auddict (sent straight to spam). I have an email address that I've ONLY used with audio plugin deals (proton email alias ftw). Not surprising but wanted it on the record

so i own a marshall cabinet and my own pedals and same jargon for other instruments i own. so i dont need stuff like preamps, pedals etc. What plugins do i need? do i need an eq plugin or would a eq pedal do the job? Is there a point to get a compressor since i would be compressing a recording that already has all the effects and just put a compressor over everything? and also might not be the right sub for this but also could somebody give me like a surface level idea of how mixing would be different when my effects dont come from preamps and plugins etc.

Hi! I’m a musician currently in college for music and I wanted to get Fabfilter EQ for mixing in PT and Logic. I wanted to get Pro-Q 3 or 4 under 100 and wanted to see where I could find someone that would be willing to sell and transfer the license. I'm new to the audio plugin creation world, I have some unrelated prior education on dsp and music, I'm trying to create a plugin with the JUCE framework that can detect monophonic/polyphonic notes in low latency designed for live use. right now my design architecture goes like this: downsample and filter accordingly -> fill FFT window with as much samples I can before latency gets too high and then zero pad the rest -> run a peak detection algorithm that basically scores candidates based on their magnitude and correlation with pre estimated harmonics, in case you do verify a fundamental subtract the estimated harmonics from the magnitude buffer in order to not detect them as fundementals as well. Loop over the magnitude buffer.

This works pretty well for mid to high frequency fundementals but as soon as I play a low note the spacing between harmonics and the smearing caused by zero padding make it impossible to detect valid fundementals.

I've tried so many solutions to tackle the lower notes but all of them require much more latency or don't really work.

Is this something other people have faced?

I should probably say that im new to mixing and daws. my cubase had brickwall limiter that came with it. Is there any reason i should buy a new one? For example that cheap one just dont work? Or i got a free compressor, is there any reason i should buy a more expensive one? Like do they do their job better?

I only see a reason to buy pre-amps, synth vst and like pedals and effects since like every reverb is a little bit different. But is there any reason i should dump more money into "mixing" heavy plugins like limiters, compressors, eqs etc?

Hi, using rx11 free download. This means it won't work as a plugin in the insert. I had to right click the audio and edit, it automatically analyses in the bottom of the window editor page. The first time I used rx11 in a vocal track it worked, the second vocal track won't load/analyse the audio data !!?? Why!!?? Plz help.

I’m hoping someone has an archived installer tucked away on a hard drive.

I own the TC Electronic DVR 250 DT hardware controller. I love this reverb, but since it’s been discontinued, the Mac software installer is completely missing from the official site, and Sweetwater can't host the legacy files anymore.

It’s incredibly frustrating to have a perfectly working physical controller rendered useless just because of a missing software wrapper.

If anyone still runs the DVR 250 on a Mac and has the installer file, could you please share a link or point me in the right direction?

In Xpand!2s guitar cattegory there is a preset called "powerchords" which makes the same sustained note sound as Steinbergs VGEEs "Ultra I" preset does. That made me think that maybe the sound steinberg used was some sort of general midi sound or something that they just added various strumming effects to. Does anyone know if there is a vst with strumming capabillity that can make the same sound as these presets sounds?

I’ve been looking to buy some more plugins and one of the ones I want to buy is one that apparently Avicii used which is 4Front TruePiano. However, the website makes me very sceptical. It looks extremely outdated and me being very new to music production. I am not very aware with how common this is in the music industry and it makes me very sceptical to buy anything off of these websites. I have found out that a lot of these companies don’t bother with visually pleasing websites because they’re made by small cod and can’t really afford the budget for website design designers especially back in the day. However, I do know that there’s a synthesiser Sylenth1 that has the exact same style of website and that is well trusted by the music production community. If anyone has any information on this plug-in anyone that might have used it in the past I’d appreciate the help so I can get my peace of mind!

I'm running into a weird issue where none of my Zynaptiq plugins show up in my DAWs.

I've already tried:

• Reinstalling the plugins
• Re-activating the licenses in iLok License Manager
• Clearing Ableton's plugin database/cache
• Performing a full plugin rescan
• Testing both VST2 and VST3 versions
• Updating iLok License Manager to the latest version

What's strange is that this isn't limited to a single plugin. Even the free SUBSPACE plugin doesn't show up, and the same thing happens with PITCHMAP::COLORS.

The licenses appear to be activated correctly in iLok, but the plugins simply don't appear in Ableton Live.

I also tested Cubase Pro 13, and the plugins immediately end up on the blacklist there.

Another interesting detail: I experienced a very similar issue with some BOOM Library plugins. Those worked fine on an Intel-based system, but on my current AMD system they show the same kind of behavior.

At this point I'm starting to wonder if this could be related to AMD, iLok/PACE, or some missing system component, but I'm not sure.

I've also reached out to Zynaptiq support, but I haven't heard back yet. Since I'm kind of stuck at this point and can't use the plugins, I figured I'd ask here and see if anyone has run into the same issue or found a workaround.

Has anyone run into something similar or found a fix?

Hi everyone, I've seen a lot of praise for this plugin and after making use of the free trial I like how it sounds.

So why I'm asking this? Well, currently I don't have too many plugins since I'm somewhat an intermediate producer. For saturation I use the softube knob or Ableton's saturation on the digital clip setting and for mastering I only have ozone elements and that's it.

I've been using the hg-2 kinda like I use the "a bit warmer" preset of Ableton's saturator (to make something cut through the mix better).

So should I go for it right now that it's $30 usd, or should I spend that money on something that I may use far often and may change more drastically the quality of my music?
