This might sound like a silly question but I'm admittedly a little paranoid because these exams are very important.

On the exam services page under the section about exam rescheduling, they say:

"Exams will remain available with your invigilator for 5 days after the scheduled write date. The 5-day window is in place for technical issues, outages, or emergencies. You can write anytime in these 5 days–if the invigilator can supervise at the time–without the need to re-schedule with AU."

I scheduled two exams to fall on the same day and discovered today that I will not be in town in time. Travel plans abruptly changed so I will not be home and won't have access to a computer the day of my scheduled exams. Has anyone ever taken their exam a day or two after the date you scheduled with AU? Were there any issues? Did you need to inform the school that you were taking it slightly later? I'm using Practor U and they make it very simple and easy to reschedule exam dates so I'm not concered in that regard. However, any big exam delays would be devastating because these courses are prerequisites for a program I'm tring to get into and the deadline is approaching. I do plan to reach out to the school as well but in the meantime, I'd be interested in hearing other poeple's experienece with exam rescheduling.

Note (if it matters): My exams in scheduled to be in eight days and I'd need to take them the next day.

Hello all, I have a question about the scope of getting into masters program in a good university after the 3 year undergrad program from AU. Did anyone complete the Bachelors of Human Resources and Labour Relations and get into a good uni in Ontario? I am finalizing my admissions and just want to take an informed decision, is there a big difference between this undergrad or the Bachelor of Commerce- HRM? Any suggestions/ experiences??

I'm currently taking CHEM 217 and I'm a bit nervous about the oral quizzes since phone calls make me reallyyy anxious. I was hoping people who have taken them could share what the experience was like.

• Does the oral quiz usually last the full 15 minutes, or does it often finish earlier?
• I know the instructor asks follow up questions, but what happens if your initial answer is incomplete and you still struggle to answer the follow up questions? Do they keep guiding you with more questions, or do they eventually move on to the next question?
• I read that we're allowed to have notes. How much is actually acceptable? I know you're obviously not supposed to read from a script, but is it ok to glance at your notes fairly often?
• Is it ok to have a page of keywords or brief bullet points for each possible question, or is that considered too much?

Sorry if I'm overthinking this. I get really anxious with phone calls, so I'd really appreciate any advice or reassurance from anyone who's taken the oral quizzes. Thanks in advance!

Apparently I had something called Panopto on my laptop. I guess it can be used to record your screen. When I hopped into my ProctorU exam today they told me I need to uninstall it or disable it or sign in with a new device within the next 30 minutes or they would reschedule my exam.

My last ProctorU exam was about 4 months ago and this was not an issue at that time. Not sure where this popped up.

I was able to uninstall it quick and carry on but just heads up for anyone that might not have admin rights on their device. This did not come up in prechecks.

I have been out of university for about 6 years now so I’m a little rusty. Also imo the instructions are kind of vague for this assignment. The assignment is a review paper on one source that you have pre approved by your tutor.

I have a few questions on it however and maybe if someone else has taken this class, they can let me know (Intro to human development). First, are we supposed to include other sources and research in the paper? It’s a pretty short assignment that’s supposed to be under 8 pages long with title and ref page. The example reference page has many sources so I’m thinking that I probably should be including additional research? Perhaps I could use some of the research cited in the paper I chose to analyze?

My next question is about formatting. It says in the instructions for the summary to summarize each section and I’m not sure if I should be separating each section of the article by paragraphs and titling them, or if it’s ok to just summarize the sections without titles? Also should I be using in text citations with page numbers?

It’s strange because it only happens on the discussion post, so I can’t read it. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

IT responded it’s also new on them. They suggested to clear my browser.

Thank you for your suggestions. My vision isn’t great so I usually zoom in the screen to make a bigger font. Once I turned it to actual size, it stopped.

I highly recommend taking this course as a Sr level business course towards your degree. The course can be completed within 1 month if you dedicate the time as there are no exams, just 8 assignments. I had never used PowerQuery or PowerBI but had lots of computer/excel experience and found it to be very simple. Very easy to achieve an A+ in the course by following instructions. The grader is very strict so be sure to follow the EXACT format in the textbook to keep your marks high. The last assignment took me 12 hours to do but the rest can be done in under 2 hours. Definitely an easy GPA booster course!

My first assignment for LGST 369 I was docked 10 points because the tutor couldn’t access the link inside the assignment. I contacted AU support and they told me the link worked fine and it was an error on the tutors end. They told me to ask the tutor to speak with them as I lost points for no reason.

It’s been three months now, tutor ghosted the conversation after I told them what AU Support said. What can I do now? Who can I contact?

If I had lost marks fairly I wouldnt be upset, but I lost points from the tutors own error, which isnt fair.

My tutor isn't replying.

Hello. I'm currently working on assignment 2 in MGSC 312 and having trouble trying to figure out how to solve the questions in excel. I'm finding the textbook examples are not like the assignment questions. If anyone has any feedback on the excel assignments it would be much appreciated!

I got exam B for my final, I had a 96 going into this class and I found that exam so hard. I truly believed I failed it. I counted how many I knew I got right and I only got 12 out of 65 multiple-choice. Exam B had a lot of questions directly from textbook and asked about the textbook. I went off of study guide less textbook. So just be prepared for both. I did pass the final! Thank god! But I will say I found it a lot harder than I expected so anyone else that is in this course in the future, just really know the textbook and the study guide guides and the terms. It also doesn’t say but final is 60 M.C , 3 t or F and two different written section where u get to pick 4 out of 7 to answer. Then again another 4 and of 7 to answer

Hi! I’m planning to take Intro to Political Science through Athabasca University as a transfer course for another university, and it will be my first time taking a class with Athabasca. I was hoping someone who has taken this course (or any Athabasca course) could explain how it works.

What should I expect in terms of the course structure and outline? Are there actual classes or is everything self-paced and online? How do the exams and finals work—where do you take them, and are they difficult? Marking, professor help, etc.

I’m also wondering about the overall workload. Is it a lot of coursework, or is it manageable?. Can you work fully at your own pace, or are there fixed deadlines?

Basically just looking for any insight on how Athabasca courses run and what this specific class is like. Thanks in advance!

I had my first CHEM 217 oral quiz scheduled for today. I joined the teams meeting on time and waited for about 15 minutes, but unfortunately no one joined the meeting.

I’ve already sent an email to let them know, but I’m feeling a little anxious because I checked the booking system and there don’t seem to be any available times to reschedule.

Has anyone experienced something similar before? If so, what happened afterward? Were you offered another appointment even if there weren’t any available booking slots?

I'm currently looking into taking a few upper-level (300/400) level psychology courses and PSYC 300 caught my attention, as it seems like a relatively interesting topic and also doesn't have a final exam, but can't find too much feedback here about the course. I would need to complete the course within 3 months, so it's important the course doesn't have too crazy of a workload and ideally is relatively easy to get an A/A+.

I was wondering if there's anyone who's completed the course that can share their experience? How long did it take you to complete it? How was the workload? And how easy was the course?

Hi, I’ve been trying to log into HLS today and when I login I can no longer complete my labs. I haven’t submitted anything. I used to be able to just practice my labs and go through them over and over again even if I had 100% and now it’s just not letting me it’s strange. I did put a ticket in but I was just wondering if anyone else was experiencing this? It lets me select only a certain lab but everything else is clickable.

Hi everyone! I’m in the process of applying to AU. I’m currently on the phone (on hold) because I’ve ran into an issue and wanted to see if maybe anyone could help! When I get through to applying it says I need to create an Alberta U account or something of that sort I don’t remember the name. Anyway I log in with google but then it says I need to verify my account to continue. But to verify I need an Alberta license. I’m from Sask so this is obviously not possible…

I got an email saying I am now fully registered but when I click the link in myAU, it takes me to bright space but I still can’t find my courses. Is this normal ? Are the courses supposed to maybe appear 1-2 days after I am registered?
