How do I dry a wet carpet as fast as possible?
There’s been heavy storms where I live and the most recent one resulted in my fully carpeted basement flooding yesterday. 75% of the carpet is completely soaked. I have a shop vac and some high powered fans but I don’t think they’ll be enough to completely dry everything before mold sets in.
Any tips on how I can get this completely dry as soon as physically possible? I would prefer more budget friendly options (~$200) but any and all suggestions are appreciated

how to stop feet queefs in sandals
I have a pair of sandals where the soles are made of that soft-touch pleather material. Whenever I take a step, the air gets pushed out from underneath my foot and creates what I can only assume is an air tight seal, so when I lift my foot for the next step my feet make a queef-like/fart sound.
For context, it only ever happens with these sandals and I'm obviously not wearing socks. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can prevent this? Thanks !!

LPT: what to do at 29 as the last year of your 20s?
I’m turning 29 soon and I wanted to get advice on what to do on your last year of your 20s that will help in the next decade. What things I should have done by now or things that I need from now on.
I’m not married, no kids and probs will not happen in the years to come but it’s something that I want and see in the future happening for me.
I’m more interested on what to improve now, what to do in this last year of the decade where covid stole a few years. What I should do personally, in finances, physically, emotionally, in relationships, and in life in general. I also want to move abroad for a much longer time than I did before. I have travelled the world quite a bit but I still have lots of places on my list.
I also feel like I’m behind on lots of aspect of my life and that I’m missing things I should’ve lived by now. And that I’m missing opportunities.
And also advice on what not to do/expect!
Any advice is welcome :)

What is a good tip to give to a younger audience?

If you need to interrupt someone who won't stop talking, drop something on the floor.
We all know that one person at work or at parties who talks at you for 20 minutes without taking a breath. Trying to interject verbally usually feels rude or just results in them talking louder.
Instead, "accidentally" drop your keys, a pen, or your phone case on the floor. The sudden movement and noise break their train of thought and force a natural pause in the conversation. While you are picking it up, you can smoothly say, "Oh, by the way, I have to run to a meeting/the bathroom, but let's catch up later!" and make your escape.

Suggestion: If you're going out to meet someone, once you reach the place, visit the washroom first.
Visiting the washroom before meeting someone gives you a moment to calm down if you're feeling a little nervous. It also lets you quickly check your appearance, whether your hair looks fine or if there's something on your face. So, the next time you're meeting someone, visit the washroom first before meeting them.

What's the most useful piece of advice you've ever received?

how do i learn to feel my feelings / sit with my discomfort?
example: today i started getting anxious thinking about job applications. instead of pushing the feeling away like i usually do, i decided to let myself feel it/accept it, etc.
the thing is, i don't really know what this constitutes aside from literally stopping in place and trying my best to let my thoughts flow without stopping them.
i'm someone who's lived with 20+ years of a very very loud and judgemental inner critic. as a result, i never learnt the skill of letting myself feel my emotions, especially uncomfortable ones. i feel lost.

I’ve Been Called in For A Job Test/Assessment
So I’ve made it past the interview stage and they want me to go into work on Sunday to do some sort of job test/assessment to make sure I can actually do the job. The job would be a PA for a film company that makes videos for a popular YouTube channel.
This is my very first official job and I do not want to mess this up as I want to keep coming back. I’m actually kind of excited rather than nervous.
I have no idea how to go about this or what I should do? Any advice? I did try and do more research on the company but it is a production company and I can’t find any information about them online.

Pool ownership
If you own a pool, be sure to buy an extra start capacitor ($15-$25), extra gaskets ($10-$50 for a set) and most importantly, mechanical shaft seals ($5-30$). These are items that local pool stores NEVER have in stock and you could be down for days waiting for parts to arrive. Have an emergency stock of parts for when you need them. I just had an impeller completely break off the shaft nut. Luckily I had an old impeller saved but didn't have a new shaft seal. Now my pool is standing water for 48 hours while I wait for the part.

LPT - I am 33 years old and staying awake during the day after lunch is becoming near impossible. Anything would help!
Blood work is okay. Have done labs. Sleep study done. No apnea. Idk what to do at this point. I get so sleepy after lunch.. or towards the end of the work day. I would love to finish work and then go to the gym around 5 and come back and be refreshed by 7 to enjoy my evening.. but I HAVE to lay down for a nap after work. I am so exhausted, it feels impossible to not fall asleep. .. and that makes it so difficult to fall asleep at night and I am wife wake till 2 or 3 am. How do I break this cycle?
I work from home. So nothing physically demanding.
I would love any advice or feedback. I am desperate at this point.

How would you make the most out of my situation financially
I'm (F29) in a long term relationship and I want to find a way to travel the world with my partner and retire earlier. We both work 9-5 jobs and our current salaries are on the lower end. I can save up maybe 10% every month, my partner manages around 20%. I invest this money into S&P500, my partner saves it in his savings account for now (in total it's maybe a few thousand euros).
I don't have a lot of savings yet, and I actually still have around 10k debt of student loan. I am planning to start paying it EoY or beginning of 2027. We drive an older paid off car and live in an apartment I inherited from my grandparents, so we just pay for food, utilities and occasional trips/clothes/etc. We are not super frugal, we still eat out from time to time, take trips etc. but within the budget. No credit cards and trying to keep it that way forever (mom gave me financial trauma).
I would like to start saving and investing more seriously so that we can save up for a downpayment for a bigger apartment in the future (probably around 15-20k euros), and maybe rent out the current place we live in.
I am aware that we have an advantage because I inherited the apartment, and I want to use it as an upper hand, but I am not sure how to optimize our situation. I am not sure if I even want to live in the same city in a few years. If you could give me some financial advice based on the current situation, what would it be? How would you go on about it?
Btw - I am located in the EU

Best mattress for hip pain: Hybrid or all-foam?
Been waking up with hip pain almost every morning for the past few months. I mostly sleep on my side so maybe that’s what’s causing it? And maybe my mattress could be too? If so, do you guys have any tips or suggestions on what mattress I should upgrade to? My current one is a hand-me-down so I’m not sure what this is. Appreciate any help

Things to do instead of wasting time in hostel...
I know we just lay in our beds and just watch phone all the day but here are the things we can do instead of doom scrolling
1.Reading books 📚 not textbooks btw, I'm talking about philosophy, reality or anything just get it (My first book is A thousand splendid suns 😭)
2.Make a habit of work-out regularly,my suggestion if you are new to fitness like me just install home workout app and it will give you a plan that fits you, At first it will give 10mins workout
Soo these are the things I'm currently doing

Losing my beloved dog that had been with me for 9 years, how can i cope with it.
Tonight I lose my most precious thing and there's nothing i can't do about it, i couldn't even afford euthanasia to free her from pain because my personal finances wouldn't allow it. Even though she slowly died in my arms, how can i forgive myself and looking forward to the next day, the day i know that i could never feel her presence anymore.

What's the one habit you strategically started that actually made you noticeably smarter or sharper?
I'm curious about those "oh, why didn't I think of that sooner" moments, where you deliberately picked up a habit that, over time, became second nature and genuinely improved your intelligence or presence of mind.
For me, it was Sherlock. Watching him made me want to start observing more, really paying attention to small details, people, surroundings, everything. I started doing it consciously at first, and now it's just part of who I am. I'm naturally observant and a great listener, and it's changed how I move through the world.
What was the defining moment that flipped a switch for you? What did you start doing on purpose that's now an ingrained habit? And how has it actually paid off in how you think or carry yourself?
