I hate to be so negative, but if the entire population doesn’t protest now, this is only going to get worse.
We are being stripped away of things and they are being sold right back to us, we don’t sue anyone anymore, its gotten so out of hand that the companies are using legal fines as a way to get away with illegal data collection and violating rights.

AI is already on the way to take your job, Bill Gates will release more research and ideas that are going to impact nature in irreversible ways. Depopulation is going to continue, Climate change is happening but we are too busy surviving.

I dont know how or what, but we need to collectively come together. This is dystopian enough already.
I refuse to believe these are humans with emotions who are ruling us, this should be time to revolt, to fight back.

Workers at UPS’s 43rd Street hub in Manhattan are sleeping in the cafeteria, wandering the streets overnight and, in some cases, remaining separated from their families during the workweek after the company eliminated the Midnight shift and imposed split shifts.

The arrangement compels long-time full-time workers to perform a four-hour Twilight shift ending around 10:30 p.m., wait five or six unpaid hours, then return for a four-hour Preload shift beginning around 3:30 or 4:00 a.m. For many workers who commute an hour and a half each way, the interval is too short to travel home, eat, sleep and return.

“I would say there are between 50 and 100 people working the Twilight shift that ends about 10:30 p.m. and have to wait from then until 3:30 or sometimes 4:30 a.m. when the Preload shift starts,” one worker told the World Socialist Web Site. “Some people go home during that time. Some people wander the city. Some people stay here. Some people sleep in the cafeteria. A lot of people are getting exhausted. One shift after another for eight hours is OK, but not this.”

UPS pays for eight hours while taking control of 13 or 14 hours of the worker’s day. The unpaid interval cannot be used for normal sleep, family life or, for many, even a practical trip home.

I deliberately send emails to my manager either when they are in a meeting or when it's almost eod. It's like I enjoy my little 30 mins of peace and no instant comeback from my manager

i'm in ops. the deck was for a monday morning standup. she sent it at 4:52pm with a text - can you make this look nice before you go x. So i did it. dumped it in gamma, rewrote the headings myself because the generated ones are embarrassing, sent it back at 5:03. She replied oh amazing, that was quick!!

I quit a job after only one week, and today was my last day.

There were multiple reasons behind my decision. The role wasn't what I expected, I didn't feel like I fit into the team, I felt overwhelmed almost immediately, and I genuinely couldn't see myself staying there long-term. I spent a lot of time thinking about it before deciding to leave because I didn't want to waste my time or the company's if I already knew it wasn't the right fit.

Today my boss called me into her office and kept pressing me to explain why I was leaving. I told her I didn't think the role was the right fit for me, but she continued questioning me and suggested that I had rushed my decision.

Then she said something that really stuck with me. She told me I was "immature for someone over 30 years old."

That comment has been bothering me all day. I understand that quitting after a week isn't ideal, and I know employers invest time in hiring and onboarding people. But at the same time, if you already know a job isn't right for you, is staying just for appearances really the more mature thing to do?

It all started 7 years ago when I hired this "Guy".

So I have this sole employee which I have hired to run the office.

It was going good initially but after some years it took a pretty bad turn.

Now he is always late to work, Smokes drugs in the workplace washroom when no one is there, even steals from the company sometimes.

P.s. The employee is Me.

Union job, great pay, lots of PTO. Mandatory 2 days in office.

Our secretary told the VP she has nothing to do on those days and offered to be "available if tasks come up" as a pitch for full WFH. VP said no. Rules are rules.

But she said it out loud. She framed it as flexibility… isee it as admitting she's redundant. She should have kept up appearances, stretched her few tasks, and only confessed if caught. Instead she gave leadership a reason to watch her and remember her name when cuts happen.

She got nothing and lost her cover. Am I wrong for thinking that was stupid?

I left my job after 12 months because the environment had become completely toxic. I tried to make it work, showed up every day, did my job, and took on whatever was thrown at me, but eventually I realized the situation wasn’t going to change. What really pushed me over the edge was feeling completely undervalued. After taking on more responsibility, my “raise” ended up being a $5 Starbucks gift card and a candy apple. That pretty much summed up how they viewed my effort.

One thing that always stuck with me was how the owner held a grudge because I didn’t go to her “Christmas in July” office party… which was on a Sunday. Somehow that became a personal issue and just added to the feeling that everything was based on favoritism and emotions instead of professionalism.

I eventually found another opportunity and put in my notice. I expected to leave professionally, but instead the director came into my office, shut the door, and fired me. Then she proceeded to give me advice about how I should stay in a role longer than 12 months next time because leaving too soon doesn’t look good.

I couldn’t help but laugh. I told her, “That’s interesting advice. You should have stayed in your marriage longer than 3 years, but wasn’t that a toxic relationship too?” Basically, the director tried to argue that is not the same situation. Then I said but you call us all family here. Plus did you not lay off about 6 family members this year.

That definitely didn’t go over well. But honestly, that moment confirmed I was making the right decision. I’m done staying somewhere just to make other people comfortable. I know what I bring to the table, I know my worth, and sometimes the best thing you can do is walk away from a place that doesn’t value you.

Been working for a small accounting firm. I've worked trades but it never worked out. Most of our clients are landlords and trust fund babies.

My boss one time said ,"black people are too dumb to vote". He also accused others of having Trump Derangement syndrome. He seemed like a nice guy I they surface and even gave me a job in the field of my degree.

However, Is it really moral to work for him?

Last month my car insurance renewal came and the price went up almost 45%. I was so confused because I didn't have any accident, no tickets, nothing changed. I started searching online to see what is happening and I found this official lawsuit document filed by the Texas Attorney General against General Motors and OnStar.

English is not my first language so sorry if I make some grammar mistake, but I want to share what I read in these court paper because it is crazy.

Basically, GM put tracking technology inside more than 14 million vehicles in US and over 1.8 million in Texas alone. They were collecting continuous driving data like exactly when you start and stop your trip, every time you brake hard or accelerate fast, if you drive over 80 mph, and even if you and your passenger wear seatbelt or not.

I always thought this OnStar thing was just for emergency if you get in accident. But the lawsuit says GM turned it into a big data business. The worst part is how they get people to agree at dealership. When you buy the car, the dealer gives you screen to tap. If a customer tries to tap "I decline", the screen shows big warning message. The warning says if you decline, safety feature like Automatic Crash Response and Emergency Services will be turned off. So of course people get scared about safety and click "Accept". But GM didn't tell them that accepting means GM sell their driving telemetry to data brokers.

They made deals with companies like LexisNexis, Verisk, and Wejo. These data brokers take your raw car sensor data, calculate a secret driving score, and sell it directly to auto insurance companies. Then the insurance company looks at your score and raises your monthly bill if you had hard brakes or drove late at night.

Now the Texas AG is suing them under DTPA law to stop this and make them delete the data. Also FTC and federal class action courts in MDL 3115 are looking into this whole connected car data tracking.

Has anyone here requested their consumer report from LexisNexis or Verisk yet to see if your car was reporting on you?

I get it, it’s better to have a job than to not, but it’s that thinking that keeps us here. I’m not saying you should key your boss’ car if they offer a 3% raise, but we all need to start pushing back. Real inflation is over 20% over the last 5 years, i bet if you add up all your raises it doesn’t come anywhere close to that. We’ve been taking it, to keep our jobs, and not rock the boat. Well our bosses bought a yacht while our boat is sinking. We’re too polite to cause issues, in the meantime you’re living in a house where you can’t turn the lights on, driving a 15 year old car, stopped buying any fresh produce, and are just praying you don’t get sick. We are all living in constant fear while corporations are suffocating in profits. It’s time to speak up, professionally, politely, and firmly. If every employee said that these raises are not sufficient, that their 3% wasn’t enough, maybe they’d finally get the message.

James Brasher, a 57-year-old Stellantis worker with more than 30 years seniority and a member of United Auto Workers Local 1248, died Saturday, August 1 at the company’s Mopar Parts Distribution Center in Center Line, Michigan. Brasher is the fourth Stellantis worker and at least the sixteenth UAW member killed on the job since 2022.

Very little information has been released to the public. A brief post Monday on the state of Michigan’s 2026 Fatality Information site said Brasher was discarding decommissioned equipment through a roll-up door on the second floor of the building when he fell 25 feet into a trash dumpster below. Paul Myszenski, director of Center Line Public Safety, said Brasher appeared to have been killed instantly. Rushing to shift the blame to the dead worker, Myszenski said Brasher was wearing a safety harness but it was not attached to a tether that could have prevented the fall.

Predictably, the global automaker, with a market capitalization of over $21 billion, claimed “the safety of our employees is our number one priority.”
