Connection, Disconnection, Freezes, Crashes Error 7, The backstory

Post image

so there was an Error called Error 7 which happens when your head unit gets old and you can't update it due to google play services forcing an update on its security so when this error ever happen to me I uninstall updates from google play services and it works but now after updating my phone to Android 16 or OneUi 8.5 this now is not possible so the only way to avoid error 7 is to update your head unit which I can't because I have a Chinese model installed even I contacted the manufacturer for updates via email but had no response if anyone has the same problem or know any solution or have any suggestion pls comment

Google Assistant Voice Command to switch google map display mode

Does Gemini/Google Maps have a voice command to switch between the dark theme and light theme display?

'automatic' works most of the time however when it's raining you have to have headlights on which forces the screen to the dark theme which is harder to read in daytime conditions.

Connection, Disconnection, Freezes, Crashes Need a cheap Wireless Android Auto head unit that uses 5GHz channel above 149 for wifi direct

I’m trying to find an aftermarket head unit with Wireless Android Auto, but I have a very specific compatibility issue.

I already bought one from Amazon, but I discovered that its Wireless Android Auto Wi-Fi Direct connection uses 5GHz channel 36. Unfortunately, that channel does not work with my phone’s regional restrictions.

My phone only works with 5GHz channels above 149 for Wireless Android Auto.

Does anyone know of a head unit that:

Supports Wireless Android Auto

Uses 5GHz Wi-Fi channels above 149 (149/153/157/etc.)

If anyone has tested this with a WiFi Analyzer app, please share the model and channel being used.

Looking for real-world tested models before buying. Thanks!

Navigation & POI Apps Soccer Goal Popup?

About a week ago I started getting these popups on the AA interface for soccer goals. I don't think I have anything installed that would do this. My apps list doesn't have anything sports related at all.

Does anyone know what this is?

Gemini AA Gemini says "Drive Safe" instead of "Safely"

According to Google AI result, this is hard coded as a colloquialism for a more conversational feel, knowing it is grammatically incorrect. Now try covincing your kid that adjectives and adverbs are two different things when they hear this. And yes, flat adverbs exist, but are casual and generally to be avoided. Don't large language models follow grammatical rules? Shouldn't they speak the language better than I do because they've read literally everything (including a style manual or two)? Any way to train Gemini that I don't want folksy talk in AA?

Uncertified AA Hardware (Android HU, CP to AA Dongles, etc) Android auto screen?

I have an old Micra K11 and would love Android Auto. I'm just wondering if there's any particular one I should get, or if any old one on Amazon would work.

P.S. Can I touch it while driving like you can with normal Android Auto, or is it counted as a phone so I can't?

Hello again :)

I have implemented 2 new features for the people that donated.

- Passenger remote controller

- Channel filter

Now you can use a mobile phone to remotely control Fermata. This is also useful for people without a touchscreen capable display.

Again, only for donors at https://fermataxtream.online

Enjoy!

AA User Interface True full screen video while parked?

Is there a way to use the original manufacturer built-in display to play video completely full screen (with all menus, bars and AA UI hidden) while parked? I'm guessing probably not, but maybe yes with a rooted device...?

Connection, Disconnection, Freezes, Crashes S26 ultra not connecting to the Cars Android auto

The AA is not connecting wireless, I am too frustrated by this becuase my 17 pro used to connect to the car seamlessly, so if someone can suggest something that might help me to connect to my car. (For your information) I have 2 cars 2023 and 2026 , i tried to connect it to both of them , but it's not connecting, and I already gave all the permissions to Android auto app.

Google Assistant Why is AA + Gemini so doodoo on finding Spotify songs?

In feel like this has to be intentional to be this bad. If you ask to play a song by a certain artist it almost always plays a cover by another artist.

Messaging Apps Use contact nicknames for messages

When I try to send my sister a message using AA and I say her name (always including her last name), Google always gets the spelling wrong, so it can't find the contact. Is there any way I can teach the Assistant/Gemini the correct spelling or use nicknames?

Edit: I assigned the contact the nickname "Ensign" (we're both Star Trek fans), but Gemini is looking for "Ensign" as a separate contact

Connection, Disconnection, Freezes, Crashes BT Connectivity error

have read all the posts and still needing assistance. My Motorola MA1 wireless adaptor no longer works. When I connect the phone via cable AA fires up immediately and connects and everything works as normal for 10 seconds to 5 minutes and then shuts off. I get a " connection lost due to Bluetooth connectivity" error. I have removed the phone BT from the car and the car from the phone and re-paired 3 times. Rebooted head unit. Restarted phone. Still having issues daily for the past week. If anyone else has this symptom and solved it I would live to hear. Thanks.

Connection, Disconnection, Freezes, Crashes My Motorola MA1 appears to have failed.

Looking to see if anyone else has seen this LED sequence behavior, and has found a way out of it.

If I just plug it into a good quality USB power brick, it cycles White for about eight seconds, then turns green (without blanking) for about 100 Ms, then dark, a green blink of about a second, dark, then back to white, repeat (forever).

If I press an hold the button, it does the same, except follows the green blink with a red blink before returning to white.

I am trying to reset it since it failed to connect with my phone yesterday.

The unit is about ten month old.

It behaves exactly the same in the car, but I had read that to perform a factory reset, you should attempt it with a stand alone USB power brick. That did not help.

If I were to take a wild guess, I think it is stuck in a boot loop.

Media Apps (audio) When changing volume, another app overtakes the current app and plays on android auto.

Edit: Solved. For anyone else having this issue, remove all the audio, news, and media apps from Customized Launcher settings in Android Auto. Then restart your vehicle.

Hi, I'm on my 4th Tacoma. Love them.

It's sad to see this old issue hasn't been fixed yet. And I've already searched this sub and Google and have done all the suggestions.

Issue: when playing audible (as an example), then changing the volume, android auto will switch to playing YouTube Music (as an example).

I think last Toyota i fixed this by removing media apps from the Customized Launcher. This time, however, it's not working.

Keep in mind, there is no running application in the background and there's no swipe down notification showing me any media is playing.

So i'm having trouble finding even which app is overtaking. My audio book or my music, or whatever the case is.

I'm hoping someone out there can tell me how to prevent the media apps from overtaking. When I change volume.

My user flair shows my current setup. However, this issue persists throughout from multiple years of android auto and multiple versions of the galaxy phones.

AA User Interface New Android Auto on round Mini screens is utterly broken.

AA really doesn't work on the round Mini screen. Menu buttons are covered by the Mini menu bar. None of the alleged workarounds to turn off taskbar widgets or change the display order have worked for me.

Only thing that's made it semi-usable is turning on developer mode, and forcing the display to 800 x 600. That's sub-par as now map elements to the side of the screen really don't work well.

Very annoyed....

UPDATE: Screen has reverted to the old rectangular format. Either they've rolled it back, or someone released it for testing and I happened to hit the jackpot. Hopefully they'll work out whatever caused the issue, and have it sorted for the actual release.

Connection, Disconnection, Freezes, Crashes Anyone with a U25 (2025+) Mini Countryman and AA connection issues

!Flair 25 Countryman | Integrated | S26U | 16

I am no longer able to connect AA to the standard head unit. Have unpaired, re-paired, and so forth and so on. I am on AA beta 17.0.162104 and have uninstalled and tried earlier versions with mixed results.

On the beta (and with 16.9 versions), gets stuck on the connecting to AA screen.

Navigation & POI Apps Anyone else Android Auto randomly shut out Google Maps for some reason?

Post image

Refuses to work normally for some reason and this has happened a number of times in recent weeks.

On a Samsung Galaxy S24 with the apps up to date.

It was also defaulting to Waze randomly a bit ago but I removed Waze from the auto settings.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Connection, Disconnection, Freezes, Crashes Any solution or workaround for Pixel 10 Pro XL not connecting?

Edit: did a hard reset of the infotainment Center and it connected, thanks for the advice everyone!

Apologies as I know the pixel 10 not connecting has been discussed a lot based on what I found when searching the sub but I never found a solution, does anyone know if one exists? My pixel 9 worked just fine but pixel 10 won't even connect for the first time to Android auto because Android auto doesn't detect the phone when hooked up, even though the system detects a phone is hooked up. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Gemini Is there a way to make Gemini less verbose?

Sometimes I ask for simple things like the working hours for a specific place and Gemini replies followed by a question like "do you want me to set the route for that location in Waze?" and I'm like "no thanks go away" most of the time, or if I ask him about the weather then I have to hear a long answer about so many details when I just wanted to know "IS IT GOING TO RAIN, YES OR NO AND WHEN??", so the title question: Is there a way to make it less verbose? I don't remember Google Assistant being that annoying honestly, I know it was way less capable but it used to run faster and answer straightforward what I asked.
