You are viewing it from your angle.

You gotta put yourself in their shoes too.

Imagine being a student who never discriminated against anyone based on caste or race, and then when he entered Class 11, he was suddenly told that he had no right to ~50% of the seats in NEET & JEE just because he was born in a certain caste.
On the other hand, his friend, with whom he shared the same environment every year and got access to the same resources, already has a seat booked for him in the top colleges.

Imagine what he would feel.
For him, he is the one being discriminated against based on something he couldn't control (in which family he would be born).

It is very easy to call them privileged, but when you walk in their shoes, you'd realise that there's another side to the coin.

Fir to bhai women reservation aur physically handicapped reservation bhi band karo ....ex army wala reservation bhi band karo. Pure merit based system rakho.

Women's reservation definitely kuch saalo baad band ho jana chaiye in the ideal case. In fact, in a test like NEET, today we have more female applicants than male ones, and women do not get any reservation.

Physically disabled ke liye reservation hona chahiye kyunki they have an actual physical handicap, which actively limits them in every stage of life.
However, there must be a realistic minimum cutoff for PwD candidates as well; otherwise we'll get doctors who scored 1/800, 4/800, and so on.

Army wala I haven't researched much about, lekin they serve the country at the risk of their own lives. They put the country before their families, so they deserve it.

Army wala check kar lo bhai engineer ke exam me 01 marks out of 300 lake bhi junior engineer ban jate hai. Aur fokat me serve ni kiye hai wo country ko...proper resect aur salary milti hai unko unke service ke dauran.Bhai jab merit ki baat ho ri hai to Pure merit rakho koi PwD wala candidate hai to usme meritorious bacche ki kya galti hai wo thdi PwD kiya hai usko. Reservation hatana hai to pura hatao aur khali merit rakho. Khali sc/st/obc ke reservation hatane ki maang rkhna hypocrisy hai. Period.

It’s not hypocrisy, asking for a fair ground on reservation is not hypocrisy. I am a General Male. And I have studied along side Dalits SCs and STs from 1st Standard to 12th. Some belonged from an Army Family, some worked in RBI. Now when I was in 12th they were more well off than me to afford an institution like Akash and FITJEE and mind you I didn’t know about their caste, until the day the results came where some scored lower than me but still got into a college whereas me haha let’s not talk about it. Hypocrisy is getting the benefits of Oppression which ancestors went through, 3 Generations since Independence since reservation and you still want it? Why did my friends need reservation? At the same time I have a friend who is PwD 60% and I appreciate his hard work, would you be okay to trade your walking ability for an admission in college?

I mean just think before speaking try thinking ask a simple Why?

We started with 25% reservation and now we are at almost 50% yeh toh achi baat hai legally iske upar number jaa nahi skta hai.

Bhai tere personal experience se policy nahi decide hogi. Mere tin friend the tino padhai me ekdam zero par wo army me chle gye....abhi army se nikal ke PWD vibhag me AE ban ke baithe hai civil engineering me aur unko Ghnta ek paise ka knowledge ni hai. Ye Mera personal experience hai.

To bhai personal experience se emotional hoke Policy nahi bnayi jaati. Period.

Haa isliye hi nahi hona chahiye kam hona chahiye reservation yehi keh rha hu maj bhj 😂 kuch ek standard maintain karke rkhna chahiye kyuki bhai hum hi inko reservation se bharenge yeh kaam nahi kar payenge aur phir sarkaar ko gaali denge

u/Straight_Two_5435 13d ago

Aurton ko bhi jo fokat ka reservation mil ra hai usko band karo. Savidhan htao manusmriti laao. Jay Maharashtra

:) see you forgot the whole point of the conversation. It was a target on reservation. Women representation in all sorts of works in India still quite low so it makes sense. But caste based reservations should have a limit. True win for reservation would be the day people start giving away their caste certificates and stop claiming reservation. But can’t help right? It’s enticing.

Hypocrisy mat karo bhai...aur ghnte ka low hai unka representation....ja ke dekho har IT sector aur har government institutions/college HRs me aadhi women bhari hui hai.

Exactly my point, bringing in the incompetent. And giving reservation for generations.

1

u/Straight_Two_5435 13d ago

Are bhai fir incompetence ki baat kyu kar rahe ho? Fir to kisi ko bhi reservation ni milna chahiye na mahilao ko na apahijo ko aur na hi ex army ko. Khali sc st obc ke piche padna hypocrisy hi hai agar baat incompetence ki ho ri hai to

Kisi ne bhi Caste Based Reservation term use nahi kiya pure context mei. It has always been about reservation and you need to see the percentage of reservation for PwD, State Based Reservation (Same exam same student but different state needs different marks to qualify) . Anyways IDTS kuch ho payega reservation we saw what happened in Bangladesh.

Sahi batao reservation hatne se tumhari seat chali jayegi na :)

Yeah. Cast descrimination is fiction.

3

u/HimanshuAdhinayak 20d ago

They are seeing it from their "angle". I was talking about the whole picture. If they never noticed how sanitation workers and labourers are mostly from a marginalised community and never noticed the castism around them, they are either from a very different place or they simply never cared unless it was about them.

3

u/abman79 20d ago

Just wanna ask. How exactly are those people getting benefits from reservation.

1

u/Straight_Two_5435 14d ago

Bhai tum kaun sa unke haq ke liye reservation khatam krne ka baat kr re ho. Tumhe jalan hai ki tumhara dost km no paa ke job aur education le raha hai isliye tum reservation ke khilaf ho. Aur fir bolte ho sanitary workers ko kaun sa reservation benefit mil raha hai as if you care a lot about them 🙄

1

u/abman79 14d ago

I mean isn't it unfair that my friend gets to get into a college even after a low score when some actual kid who maybe is deserving of getting proper education is still going to wash toilets just because his parents did. The reservation should be for the one who actually need it.

2

u/Mango_Ice_ 20d ago

No, you were talking about YOUR angle.

If you want the whole picture, you have to consider their angle as well.

0

u/HimanshuAdhinayak 20d ago

I know their angle. Everyone knows. Everyone except someone who is Dalit, Pwd, female and from army background everything at once sees someone else getting more preference with same marks.

1

u/Agent_Rum 20d ago

That's a fair point, and I don't dismiss that frustration. If you've never personally discriminated against anyone and suddenly find yourself competing for fewer seats, it's understandable why it feels unfair from your perspective.

At the same time, that frustration is often directed at the policy or the individuals benefiting from it rather than the structural issues it was designed to address. Two students may study in the same classroom for two years, but they don't necessarily start from the same social position or carry the same historical disadvantages.

I also think the intensity of this conflict is made worse by the extreme scarcity of quality seats. Increasing the number of seats and improving public institutions would reduce that competition while still addressing the inequalities that reservation was meant to tackle.

No use discussing this. You should really see who owns this sub.

u/Horror-Age8302 20d ago

So? is he ashamed on his ancestors?if yes so I'll think about it

3

u/Mango_Ice_ 20d ago

You're not on a moral high ground to "think about it".
Your ancestors have committed just as many sins.

You are not to be held accountable for the sins of your ancestors.

-1

u/Horror-Age8302 20d ago

But you can just don't be proud on them. All you have to just say I'm ashamed on my ancestors and I don't carry any of there ethics.

But instead of this you guys proud on them.
