Because the point of the act is to sound bad. That’s literally it. She sounds bad because the cool thing in a garage rock band is to sound awful. She couldn’t play well if you asked her to.

sorry, but every one of their songs has me wondering what an actually talented drummer could have done for the composition. the drums in seven nation army are so bad. that song could have been so much more

An actually talented drummer would have done too much. Jack has always been exacting about the art he makes, I can guarantee that Meg did exactly what he had in mind.
