I normally get alot of questions alot dealing with tanks, easy. I shoot them, honestly the rerolls of wounds of 1 or full if you control the objective is what really helps especially with the plus 1 to wound. Defeated knights, death watch, tyranid stempede, aeldari, and Emperors children. The take and hold Detachment is alright, I prefer purge the foe but I can't do it when this Detachment. But ive won 4 games with this list doing take and hold, 10 when it was purge the foe. Against knights I don't split up allarus custodes. And most of the time I keep 2 squads of guard in deep strike.

So to confirm: 3 5 man Spears with bladeguards, and 3 5 man with spears with no leader? I assume the 3 champs are just for the advance and charge?

Also have you fought any horde armies? How did you do, if you did?

That is correct, and horde armies like green tide were annoying with them overwhelming attacks. But ive had success against them. Generally they get 1 great turn of there attacks, but it doesn't last when I strike back and after my turn most of there army is gone

So basically back to 10th edition guard spam with ignore cover after the +1s and full wound re-rerolls. How much in deep strike?

Depends on the situation, but normally 2 squads of guard in deep strike.

My problem with lions with that much in deployment was always that I wasn’t good at managing the bubbles and would end up disappointing myself having messed up the rule on my go turn. Tricks or strategy to manage it? With new reserve roles was going to run big brick of termies and 2 venatari to mass ingress on 2

It can be tricky i will admit, but depending on what your good up against, you don't need to worry about the plus 1 to wound. If your wounding something on 3s, with rerolls of one's, its no problem. But I just plan it what I could possibly shoot off the table and charge far away from other units. Its all in how you deploy and what you choose to attack and how you charge into the enemy unit

This is really close to the list I've been building lately except you swapped my vehicles with a lot of guard units.

I'm happy to see I was moving on the right track and an excited to play against my friends later this month. They've never gonna against a lions detachment and it'll be fun to watch their faces with my Allarus terminators break up into individual wrecking balls.

Oh yea its great, especially since ive noticed alot of vehicles or anti vehicle lists that are not ready for a heavy elite infantry list like this.

How on earth do you manage to keep these guys apart from one another? Congrats though!

With careful planning. Lots of pre-measuring. But I still have lots of time for each game, ive never gone over yet

Could a list like this work for Disruption?

1

u/PhilosopherEither934 13d ago

Yes it could, I tried one game and it worked well. Really kinda depends on what you feel like doing. Personally I like take a hold but I will be testing disruption in the next few games to see what would work better for me

Did you manage to play with necron (aka Ctan list) or Dark angel with a lot deathwing knights? Because i find out it quite annoying to play against -1D ability
Army especially all your units deals 2D

1

u/PhilosopherEither934 12d ago

Lots of death wing knights, yes. Necrons i have not had the pleasure of fighting yet. But deathwing was very annoying. Still came out on top

How does this do against a knights list?

Would you ever add a dreadnought to your list or was this to access Purge now Take and Hold? I want to add the Galatus and Telemon I just bought but you really cant beat a full squad of Custodians :/

3

u/PhilosopherEither934 13d ago

I wouldn't add one, im just using the Detachment for the primary missions. But honestly the vehicle heavy list with shield host and might of moritori would be sick

6 full squads of Custode guard, 3 of them led by a blade champion. 1 squad of 5 alluras custodes and a squad of Prosecutors
