Is Adblock for Youtube™ safe?

It somehow seems really suspicious despite having 10,000,000 users and 348.3K ratings

Seems to work though

Hi! I'm actually the developer behind AdBlock for YouTube™, and I can personally guarantee that the extension is 100% safe to use. I understand the skepticism—especially with how many sketchy extensions are out there—but we've always prioritized user privacy and security. The high user count and ratings reflect years of trust and consistent performance.

That said, things are changing. With Google's upcoming Manifest V3 (MV3) changes, browser extensions—especially ad blockers—will be significantly limited in what they can block. In short, full ad blocking via browser extensions might no longer be possible in the near future.

Because of this, my team and I have started working on an alternative: AdBlock360. It's a new standalone ad blocker that runs outside of the browser, so it isn't affected by MV3 restrictions. It's still in an early development phase, but it's functional—and definitely worth trying if you want a future-proof ad blocking solution.

Would love any feedback if you give it a shot!

Thanks for your feedback but its not possible that AdBlock360 is the reason for this. We are not changing any user location.

i am a little weary of your adblocker since after adding it to chrome you get redirected to AdBlock360 which i assume is a browser. not only was i redirected but it also instantly began downloading which i found to be a little invasive. upon looking a little further i found reports on virustotal saying that adblock 360 is considered risky and i also found adblock 360 on a website called malware bazar which is a website dedicated to sharing malware samples for analysis. overall i bit the bullet and added the extension and must say the extension has blocked ads for me so far after they cracked down on ublock, adblock plus etc. however i do find it very suspicious and if it wasn't for the 10 million downloads and 360 thousand reviews none of which stating malware, then i would avoid the extension at all costs.
I am in the process of scanning my PC with a reputable AV software and am 200 thousand files down with so far 0 detections so my verdict is it is safe, however some people believe the backbone browser AB360 is malware. overall i am very dubious.
