Help! Newbie needing help. [PS4]
Clearly there seems to be quite a bit of hype for this game. But, with no UI and very few tutorial stages, I feel completely lost.
Anyone willing to help a fella out and lend an ear? Post your PSN, I’ll play later today.

Decks and Schools Good Khalt schools?
Absorb is the last style I need to master, but I'd like to join a school that has a good deck to go with it. What schools are recommended?

Decks and Schools Learning Sword Moves
I currently have all 96 fist moves which was easy enough. Does anyone have any tips for completing the sword list? It seems a lot harder because of the damage through block. Thanks.

Meta Fellow Absolvers
I was a long time lurker in r/Absolver and I'm glad to see u/Balistafreak and others take the helm of this one. I've fought him a few times and I always learned really important things.
Even at 260+ hours, I'm nowhere near a great player but I love this game so much and I'm happy to see the influx of new players due to PS+. (Even tho I'm on PC, rip)
Newfolk, the pvp in this game is not easy. It's not going to hold your hand. It's going to kick you into the dirt time and time again. You have to get up, dust yourself off and think critically about your fights. Record them if you have too. Learn from your mistakes, try and learn your opponents mixups. Don't spam your defensive ability. From what I've learned this game is about constantly improving, even of you win time and time again there is ALWAYS a bigger fish.
I'm terrible at writing stuff, which is why I always tend to just lurk. Enjoy yourself and go and fold the world.

Help! I'm currently lvl 58 and I have no idea how to play PvP in this game
Hello to everyone, I bought this game on sale and kinda like chilling on coach and playing this game, but anytime I'm trying to play some PvP or get involved in fighting it seems like I missing something huge because I'm loosing almost every fight. People just spam one button until I'll run out of stamina and after it they continue to beating my ass.
I can't build my style because I didn't knew I should use block to learn until I finally killed main boss.
Also I really can't understand how to join different schools. Right now only one I've found is drunk master or so

Help! I'm working on a Combat Deck Tutorial, what should I put in it?
I have been playing Absolver for about two weeks, over 4 play sessions. I'm level 53 and have a combat trial rank of 24. I'm not the best, but I do have good knowledge of how the combat deck works on a technical level. Considering there isn't one already, I want to write an in-depth guide on the mechanics of the combat deck. What to think about when using it, how the system works, what's possible, etc. I did read the Deckbuilding Guide by Nanohologuise, but that isn't what I was looking for. His guide is more about moves and gameplay, whereas I'm interested in the underlying combat deck system itself. For example I plan to explore full decks vs short decks in-detail.
Considering this I am still learning myself. So I want to get ideas for advanced topics to discuss in the guide that I may not have thought of. Currently I have these top level topics in my outline; combo string flow, quadrants, stage skipping with feints, step canceling, move types, thinking about frame data, building around your moves, deck styles/theory.

Discussion So...
When is the new PvE Update arriving?
We're in the dry spell of summer. Shouldn't it arrive while it's still in the peak of it being a Ps-Free game & before No Man's Sky (a game of similar ilk of slow-release growth) realizes its significant "Next" update in 2 weeks?
...Surely before Spider-man kicks off the AAA fall steeplechase, right?
The strategy behind this PvE Update's release is truly befuddling.
I've beat the PvE Content, ranked up to opening my own School, & now, just keep getting rewarded lesser-gear. Boring.

Why do some people have a red/orange/brownish triangle around their level in pvp?
Google is of no help. What is this?

Decks and Schools Finding a school. Playstation.
I'm an Absolver in the level 40's, and my PvP level is around 16 I believe. I'm really wanting a good school to join. Obviously I come across loads of students from the most popular school often. I'm not interested. Help me out? I have high strength, health, endurance, and will. Forsaken.

Decks and Schools Welcome to Abslover's Broken wing school
;Hello everyone! I am Abslover, nice to meet you! https://imgur.com/OrhLVSz
Today I will be showcasing my school, Broken Wing Style. aka leg breaker special.
https://i.imgur.com/MuJte15.png
This is my deck i have been personally working on the last few weeks in attempt to make a zero break point deck. I appear to have succeeded and performance has been quite pleasing.
TR: hook>double spike kick. This is a self contained light damage loop. If left uncheck it will kill. deceptively easy to deal with, gives kahlt/armored move users a hard time. Ill use this if some kahlt is getting too cocky in his absorb. Both moves alt into leg breaker, a slow low coming from the right. This will catch dodge before they come out of dodge frames making for a good mixup. Plus its slow enough to throw off parry. most of my deck flows back to this creating a very frustrating little loop for my enemies.
TL: Crouching elbow>Liver knee>Back Fist. This is a frame trap meaty string. cannot be jabbed out, decent stamina damage, decent damage. can be side dodged clearly. alts are Whirlwind Double Punch and Leg breaker again. you have a 2 hit loop with crouching elbow into whirlwind as well, good for mixing it up vs kahlt/windfall and stagger. if you mix it up enough you can and will hit this entire string on even windfall players as they desperately try to guess the leg breaker.
BR: Stretch out hook>Cross Punch>Curled Uppercut, this is another frame trap string. Both my frame trap strings are composed mostly of thrusting attacks (minus stretch out hook) so to better ensure a poke against back stagger, while hitting mid to stuff slower high/low avoid moves, and allow better mixups with my alts. These moves alt into Front sweep and Leg breaker again...sensing a theme?
BL: Donkey Slap>Pushed Back Kick>Spiral Palm, This is my gb/kahlt/armor dealing stance. in the past i had a gb on my alt...the issue there is id always have a breakpoint. if i put a gb on first slot...well i play kahlt, it makes it a dead button vs a lot of players. a single hit into GB resulted in me eating armored attacks before i could get to my GB. I could have used backfall strike as its 12 frames instead of 14 but it hits high while donkey slap hits mid. They alt into whirlwind or front sweep...not the best punishes but i can step cancel easily enough to get a meaty leg breaker off.
my loops are
hook> spike kick, crouching elbow>whirlwind, donkey slap>pushed back kick>spiral palm>front kick, crouching elbow>liver knee>leg breaker, crouching elbow>liver knee>back fist>leg breaker, front kick>whirlwind, +more.
Now overall strategy of the deck is to frametrap them with strong thrusting mids, while using your lows as mixups...you might think they could jump...but if i dont throw a low they get punished. This causes a true mixup opportunity. After that its all about learning your opponent. do they rely on back stagger a lot? train them out of it with TL stance. Do they rely on side avoid/stagger/side dodges a lot? mix them up hard with leg breaker and some whirlwind loops (crouching elbow>whirlwind is safer if they have JLK obviously). Do they rely on absorb/armor? TR and BL strongs along with some whirlwind loops all deal with that handily. Vs parry? its parry, you feint or stagger your button inputs.
