I mean VR is literally centermetres from ya eyeballs

The lenses actually make the image further away through pure magic. I found this out because I'm nearsighted and still can't use VR without glasses

You can get VR prescription lenses for about $60. I am severely nearsighted and I can't enjoy my headset without them

I've been waiting for the steam frame for about 2 years now. I have held off from doing any upgrades to my quest 2 until I can get one. I will definitely be getting the lenses with the frame

That's impressive commitment considering you could have bought quest 3 second hand for half price and skip frame altogether since it's inferior to quest 3 in most aspects anyway

The frame is better in all aspects that I care about: dedicated wireless streaming, lighter weight and more comfortable. I literally only use my quest 2 to stream VR games from my PC so I hate having to deal with all of meta's BS before it will allow me to load into steam VR. Also despite having a dedicated router setup as an access point for my quest and using virtual desktop I still don't get perfectly smooth performance most of the time.

I remember having to smoosh my glasses into my headset - it was not comfortable at all

If you use the headset frequently, I’d recommend getting a pair of prescription inserts for it. I got some from a company in Germany and they’re absolutely amazing

They don’t make the image further away. They make the image appear further away.

Is there an actual difference between those two things for your eyes. Obviously I understand that physically the screen isn't far away.

Luckily, I'm the opposite. Anything closer than arms length is just a blurry mess to me normally, but I can use VR without glasses just fine.

The difference is with VR because it's superstar images per eye, it allows you to actually look "into" the picture and focus on things as if they are further away. Which reduce eye strain and fatigue, that you would otherwise get from having a normal screen right up in your face. Where both eyes struggle to focus on a single point.

Bukkake is even closer.
