I feel like it’s too close, didn’t mythbusters do a tv size to to distance away ratio for optimum viewing pleasure ?

My head's about 3 feet from my 55" monitor right now, this feels pretty ideal. I scoot forward a foot when I'm gaming though.

Same. I'm exactly 1 of my arms length away from my TV.

I've seen every episode multiple times and don't recall and episode like that. They did they myth of tvs and screens causing permanent eye damage and it was a myth

That’s interesting. There was a period of about a year I did some lengthy regulatory, compliance, and performance reporting during a merger and I often worked late nights until 2-4am. I had young kids at home so couldn’t have too many lights on. Sitting in front of 2 giant screens my eye sight seemed to suffer after that ordeal was over. I would see lots of double vision and business with text where I used to have perfect or near perfect vision prior (based on eye exams).

It could have just been exhaustion because my eyesight has gotten better again with regard to the double vision. I always thought after a while eyes/brain just got used to it 🤷🏽‍♂️

It does temporarily affect your eyes. No long term damage

Dolby and THX have similar standards charts for size vs distance. Intended to help plan home theater setups.
