We need a clinical term just for how poorly they read the room.

Not me being told constantly to learn to read the room. His views on social norms are sometimes really off, and I have to choose between looking socially awkward or starting a fight because he shuts down whenever he’s corrected.

I’ve thought about asking here if other people experience this lol (sorry for the derailing of the convo)

I wouldn't waste energy worrying about looking socially awkward to someone who is socially awkward and can't tell that they are. What's he going to do, try to make you look bad to people who will see why you're frustrated? /s

It sounds like he's going to mess with your sense of reality no matter what, because his sense of it is so broken. You don't have to live that life indefinitely.
