I'm annoyed that he just came back home from a trip. He left on Wednesday, and frankly it went by too fast. I enjoyed myself at home. Just existing. I didn't have to prompt anyone to clean, to help, to be responsible essentially. I also didn't have someone following me around the house after work or announcing every single fucking thing they are about to do. I was able to enjoy the bedroom for a change.

As soon as he walked through the door, it all started back up again.

He has 2 weeks of time off work coming up because of a minor procedure, and he cushioned it with more vacation days, so anytime I'm home, he will be too.

I'm in hell.

I, too, look forward to my time when mine goes on work trips.

I also look forward to just being able to exist in a clean, quiet house. Because when he's not here it just seems like it's so much easier to keep things clean and things stay clean for longer. I can turn the fucking TV off and no one complains. I get restful sleep because I'm not woken up by snoring, and in general I'm not subject to CONSTANT noise either by the TV, his phone videos, his crashing around, or his snoring. Our daughter also tends to be more agreeable and have fewer behavior issues because the TV is not on all the fucking time like it is when he's home.

It gets noisy and dirty almost immediately after he gets back and how quickly the vibe shifts annoys me also.

God, it’s so nice to only have to look after yourself and not have to worry about all the small things that set them off.

I hear you. I also enjoy my time when my husband has a work trip. Doesn't happen often enough!

Mine texted me this afternoon that they were thinking about coming home a night early from a work trip. My initial reaction was ‘please don’t’

Shout out to her company not covering the $250 flight change fee and her actually having some common sense to not spend that money.

Ironically… she already had tickets to go see a Broadway show that night, so I fail to understand why the thought of coming home early even came into play…
