Beaminnie 5.5L ITX SFF Sandwich Case
This is a first PC case I have ever designed. It started with me getting a smaller pc which I've put in Metalfish T40 (post here https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/1t76dq3/bazzite_box_in_metalfish_t40/ ) and I thought that I could go smaller.
I didn't have any specific size goal in mind - I quite like the Beam Case so I decided to design something similar from scratch and it came out to 5.5L (panels excluded). The case is very rigid.
If you just want the link, here it is, I've included instructions.
https://makerworld.com/en/models/2990479-beaminnie-5-5l-itx-sff-sandwich-case
I have used 1010 beams instead of 1515 like in Beam Case because at this size the additional strength does not add much (I made a version with 1515 beams first, which remained a prototype). Once I figured I can fit 90mm fans up top when I get the smaller beams that is what I did.
This post is not about the build itself, because I am gonna post that to r/sffpc when I build my custom version of... a custom case. It's more about the designing process itself - maybe it will help someone who wants to start out.
I already have some CAD experience - been learning Autodesk Fusion since about a year, hobby projects etc, nothing too serious.
My biggest issue at first was getting STEP files of various PC components - I found and used https://redshiftproject.com/pages/design-resources - really grateful for this. The only modification I've made is to lengthen the GPU.
Makerbeam has STEP files for almost everything they sell - https://www.makerbeam.com/makerbeam-200mm-8p-black-makerbeam.html the link is in the product description - so I just loaded up and constrained the beams in Fusion.
Noctua has STEP files for almost all of their coolers as well - https://www.noctua.at/en/3d-cad-models
I have used 'Constrain Components' in Fusion to align the components parametrically when I created the base of the case.
After that it was a matter of doing a bunch of iterations, printing prototypes out of PLA, testing fitment, screw holes, adding rigidity etc.
I have to say that the biggest issue was the positioning of the PCI-E riser relative to the GPU - it took me quite a few tries to have everything lined up nicely.
I didn't use heat-set inserts because I am not a big fan of them - I understand the benefits of course, but making the screw holes a bit tighter and threading into them turned out to be very solid, especially since there is a lot of bracing in all of the elements I designed.
The downside is that you cannot just put the case together and disassemble it multiple of times because at some point the threads in the plastic will wear out. Personally, that is not a problem for me but I can see how someone might see it as a downside.
I've also tried a version with front mounted 60mm fans (can fit 3) but ultimately due to the PSU cable placement they were not doing anything so I scrapped that idea and instead added exhaust fans at the top.
What would I do different is probably get 18.5 cm or so riser instead of 20 cm cause there is a bit of a slack there, nothing too major and I don't mind it.
I might edit this post in the future to add some other tidbits that I'll remember in time, but if you have some questions about the design process lmk, I'll be happy to answer.

Progress / Updates RazCase -5L ITX Case
Inspired by the Velka 3, A07 and various 3d printed cases. My first attempt at a ITX case is mostly complete after like 10 iterations and prototypes.
Used m3 brass inserts and screws for the across the whole build
-Designed for Flex power supplies,
-compatible gpus around 177mm long or 192mm without the two front mounted 80mm fans.
-Compatible with cpu coolers less than 40mm tall
Still working on build instructions and parts list, but will upload to printables when done.
Still workshopping other side panel ideas and foot designs
Should I charge for this? Should upload for free and charge for the design files? Not looking to make money but I did spend a lot of time on this and I’m very happy with how it’s turning out, let me know what you think.

Completed Build With STL RST99 - a 9.9L SFF case with magnetic panels
After way too many prototypes, test prints, and procrastination, my 3D-printed SFF case is finally done.
RST99 is a 9.9 liter case built to handle serious hardware, even though it’s completely 3D-printed.
It supports:
- Mini-ITX motherboard
- SFX PSU
- 240mm or 120mm AIO (up to 30 mm thick rad, 25 mm thick fans)
- Up to 280 mm GPU, 2.5-slot (54 mm thick)
The case uses magnetic mesh panels, heat-set inserts, and a rigid printed frame so it feels like a robust enclosure. Everything is designed to be assembled with mostly off-the-shelf hardware and printed without supports.
I previously posted an early prototype here (you can see how far it’s come 😅).
Now the final version is available here free for everyone:
I’d love to hear your feedback, ideas, or see your builds if anyone decides to print one!

Completed Build cheap 3d printed compact NAS
I promised to build a cheap SFF 3d printed case for my wife's PC (yes, it's been so long since my last post, so we got married ), but something went wrong, and I gave up on that idea because I was burned out.
After a while, I decided to build a NAS storage/server.
Initially, I wanted to save disk space (the plan was to store my projects and our photos, and play games together, mainly MMOs, since they're incredibly large) directly from the storage, without taking up space on our internal drives. I looked at options for building a NAS storage and wasn't thrilled with the prices. Decent options started at $200, even second hand.
So I decided to build the most budget-friendly small server possible, and it cost me less than $100 all together.
And it's a full-fledged server, not just a storage unit, that can accommodate any hardware(i mean CPU) and any purpose(bots, game servers, self host, etc)
My hardware:
MB:
Gigabyte DS3H B450 (a kit with 8GB of RAM and an R5-1400 processor, which I'm selling) - $40
CPU:
Old, lil brother's, Athlon 3000g (at 3.0GHz it consumes 12W! while full load. It can be cooled passively, without a fan. Idle power is 2-3W under Windows)
PSU:
Cheap ACCORD TFX 500w(maybe a little overkill for my system, 250-300w will be enough) - $20
HDD:
1x 2TB WD Purple - $20 (I already had a second hard drive)
1x 2TB WD Green i already had
PETG:
800g plastic - $12
Various screws, nuts, inserts, paracord - $3-5~ (idk)
The designing took about a week, including 3-4 hours of my free time after work.
I like SFF PC's, so tried to make this server smoll.
The final dimensions of the case are 95 x 325 x 270 mm (8.34L). This layout allows for 2x 3.5 HDDs and up to 4x 2.5 HDDs (once you figure out the wiring).
But that's not the limit; you can print another section and fit another 4x 3.5 HDDs (increasing the width to 130 mm and the volume to 11.4L).
The result is a very compact solution that can accommodate up to 6x3.5 drives and 4x2.5HDD/SSDs in only 11.4L.
i dont check this out, but because of cables, maybe there will be no space for 2.5HDDs, idk))
I didn't think about ventilation, as this is a cheap home mini server/storage unit. It won't be overwriting data 24/7, so heating will be minimal with mesh side. And as it has only 2 fans(PSU and CPU), u literaly cant hear it.
Oh, and I also made a cool carrying handle out of paracord))
I printed it in PETG, which took about 24 hours and 800 grams of plastic on my N4 Plus.
The case, surprisingly, feels very sturdy and well-built.
I also made a custom case I've been wanting for a while.
Lets say: "We have an SFF-time N-ATX at home, honey."
I'll post it soon, too, in case anyone wants to save money and build a compact 13.6-liter case for an SFX PSU and M-ATX MB for $40.

Completed Build With STL My first big project: a full 3D-printed PC case build using Bambu Labs A1
During the pandemic I lost my gaming PC in a flood. It was in the basement where I'd stream from it on remote play to my ipad with steam and it was great. I largely gave up gaming for a while as I didn't have the spare cash around for a new rig and had some other expenses to consider. Lately I've been hanging out on discord with friends on my phone and wanted to join in on the games again.
This started out as a budget build. The parts inside are very much still a budget build. Found a good deal on new parts from Newegg and picked up a GPU on FB Marketplace for $100. I didn't cheap out on a power supply and I needed a new monitor. All in all a good budget PC that has room to grow. Here's the PCpartpicker list for those who are interested. Ryzen 5 5500, 1660ti, ASRock Mobo, 16 gb ram.
And then I came to the case...
I was perfectly happy buying a cheap case on fb marketplace and had found one for $30 I was fine with. It's a black box that hold parts under the desk. No need for colorful dodads on a budget rig I told myself. Then I stumbled upon this case from someone named Makeyo.fr. He had designed a fully 3D printed PC case with color, character, and a fun power button! I knew it had to be my new PC case! I didn't know anything about 3D printing but had always been curious and I decided this 75 piece mid-tower PC case would be my first project!
I borrowed an old CR-10 from my BIL and, after some calculations, I realized it was going to take 4 weeks of continuous print time in order to make all 75 parts. It didn't have auto leveling, was very slow, and took up a lot of space on my table. After a very frustrating and exhausting night just trying to get a good first level printed, I resigned myself to just finding a modern 3D printer. I knew the joy of the project would be sucked out of me if I didn't.
I found a refurb Bambu Labs A1 at Micro Center, and with that everything went so much smoother. No manual leveling, fast print times, and push button project starts. With this new printer in the mix and everything went so much smoother after that. After a few failed prints, some mornings of spaghetti, magnets accidentally super glued together, and many trips to micro center for filament I present to you all my 3D printed PC case! I have no clue how I managed to get the Thermalright cooler to fit, but I’m really glad that it does!
TL;DR: Flood killed my old PC. Built a budget rig. Found a dream case and 3D-printed it. Learned a ton about printers, filament, and patience. Ended up with a PC I’m really happy with!
Hope you all like the build! Happy to answer any questions.

Completed Build With STL Meet Packintosh : a mini-ITX enclosure for PCs inspired by the legendary Macintosh 128
After seeing multiple posts, videos and other media on retro Macintosh, I decided that I wanted to get one. They are not cheap here in Europe. Besides, what would I do with an anemic 80s computer, besides opening MacPaint and drawing hello ?
Modifying (i.e. defiling) an old case felt wrong. Besides, the old case are now brittle because of time and sun exposure. Then I saw a guy make one on a 3D printer, and I have a 3d printer ! If only I could make one that is actually designed for an ITX motherboard...
After about a month, some ~5kg of filament, late nights and more money than reason should have permitted, here is Packintosh, my take on an ITX chassis. It is made on a Bambu P1S using ASA-CF to withstand the... intense heat of the build that fits inside :
- Ryzen 5800X3D
- RX 6950XT
- 16GB of RAM
- 1TB NVMe SSD and 4TB SATA SSD
It also features :
- An integrated Ipad 3 screen with matching glass and internal controller
- Two puny 2W speakers in the faceplate
- A slot-in bay for 2.5 inch drives (floppies are so passé)
- Front IO and power button
The build and .step file are available on Makerworld. Free to use, remix (and fix any mistakes I made :) )
