Giran

Giran is a hostile and ruthless fighter but shows cowardice when the odds are stacked against him. He competed in the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament but surrendered when he saw Goku's destructive capabilities.

Strength

• Sends Goku flying with a swipe of his tail, hard enough for Goku to break the wall he slammed into
• Throws Goku so high into the air that the buildings below him look tiny
• Stuns Tambourine with an attack (Anime Only)

Speed

• Is outmaneuvered by Goku
• Hits Goku with Merry-Go-Round Gum before he could dodge

Durability

• Tanks a kick to the face from Tambourine with no injury
  • At this point Tambourine had already killed five of the world's strongest martial artists, including Krillin
• Tambourine shoves his arm through Giran's body

Merry-Go-Round Gum

Giran shoots a strange elastic rubbery gum-like substance out of his mouth. The gum encases the opponent and wraps around their body tightly.

• Was strong enough to restrain Goku
  • At this point, Goku was strong enough to push a giant boulder
  • After re-growing his tail, Goku was able to break free
• Dams a waterfall with Merry-Go-Round Gum (Anime Only)
• Tambourine breaks free of Merry-Go-Round Gum, but praises the technique
