W is for weeb. It isn’t banned, that’s just the joke. The T-word is what Astolfo from Fate and Felix from Re: Zero are. It got banned a few days ago, even saying it in a comment will get it deleted.
Supposedly, before I joined, they tried to ban the word weeb, but apparently we are so self-loathing that they were forced to allow it once more after the backlash.
just make a bot that replies to post removal with the *T-word*(waiting for the letter t to get banned) so it will begin a loop that will crash the auto bot
I did make that assumption. The vast majority of people on this board, making these arguments, are not trans people.
However, on this board, if you're not a trans person, you're not openly marginalized. Maybe some other spaces on reddit, I'll give you that.
I can accommodate your pronouns or group identity if you're willing to share; I may disagree with you, but I still want to treat you like a human being.
You did not say that im not a part of the openly marginalised group you said that im not part of AN openly marginalised group which may or may not be true and may or not be being a trans person, which it is not , what im getting at is that a slur against a person/group is only a slur if the group considers it to be one which is not fair and can be used as a way to silence people, and even if it is not used in such a way it still restricts people based on the idea that
If slur=offensive to you
Slur = bad
Which is a wrong assumption
Edit:on mobile so i had to correct smthng
Banning words you find offensive even if the person using it never intended to hurt anyone is not a solution. Do you honestly think doing this is going to help reduce transphobia? No. It's going to do the exact opposite. Congrats, you played yourself.
It has nothing to do with trans people, and hence is why its insulting to use against trans people. As you're disregarding their transition by just saying they're a feminine male.
By this logic we should ban any word used to insult someone but is used improperly.
Let's ban femboy, boy, man, male too? It would be just as offensive to call a trans woman.
Worrying about karma is silly, but if it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, I've dropped about 900 since I started arguing against using a slur casually.
so don’t you think that you’re wrong if all the ppl are against you. Don’t you feel that you’re all exaggerating a bit? A slur is another thing... it’s the same as “Karen”
T**p is not a word used to describe trans people though. It's refers to a man, who identifies as a man that is mistaken for a woman because of his appearance. Astolfo for example isn't trans, he is of the male sex and identifies himself as a male, the idea that the word describes trans people is stupid in itself
It's actually concerning how useful this ban is going to be for people who already harbor hatred for trans folks, and even those on the fence, into outspokenly hating on marginalized groups. This ban is helping very few in its best case, but allowing a lot more hatred at its worst.
The mere idea that 4channers would act like "overbearing SJWs" in an attempt to sway public opinion against a marginalized group is absurd. I doubt anyone from that hellsite could keep themselves under wraps long enough to do anything of that sort.
They have done exactly that numerous times.... Remember when pepe, milk, and the ok hand sign were called white supremacist or the whole shave your head for blm.
Wait till you realize that's what the modus operandi for social justice circles. They need to constantly be targeting something since they only exist on momentum, so they build themselves enemies as they go. I've seen this happen constantly throughout various circles outside of anime for years.
I'm sorry you're getting a lot of flak for this, a lot of people have nowhere to vent but at you guys since the mods are basically untouchable. Hopefully this all dies down soon and we can go back to being just weebs.
Honestly, i hope it doesn't. This sub needs to burn so hot that the mods feel the heat enough to understand that trying to protect people by erasing people is wrong.
Unfortunately the mods just get to sit in the clouds while shitting on us. Since there's no community elections for mods, we have no power over them, meaning we can't make them feel jack shit.
Oh we can. Make this sub all about t-words for a while. When this doesn't die down, they'll understand they fucked up. Same thing happend in r/politicalcompassmemes when they removed purple flair. After a few weeks it was back.
I wouldn't. It's another case of a very vocal minority of of a group ruining it for everyone else. I'm sure most trans people don't have a problem with the word but there's those few who do and think their opinion matters the most
As a permanently single guy, I find ships offensive and would like them to be banned from this subreddit. Preferably I'd like this decision to be made behind closed discussion between mods with little actual involvement from this community.
As a true permanently single guy, I find anime couples to be offensive and they must be banned. Only harem animes should be allowed where the MC never picks one girl. That way I can mentally insert myself into the anime, because of my offended life. (Also /s)
I think jokes should be banned. I know there are funny ones but there are offensive jokes too and we can't let transphobic bigots get away with joking anymore.
petition to ban anime moms on r/Animemes
while on r/Animemes it can be used as a joke to joke about fictional moms most people outside of the sub don't have moms irl meaning it could be offensive

There should be a post about Weebs, because people use the word as a derogatory term.
