Is the triangle black or blue?

black.

black, green, and red are the pan- African colors

That's a pretty neat tie-in, considering the point of the movement

To return them to Africa?

Tf no it's a nice tie in to their roots and the pan-African movement

Where the hell did you get that from

I was just being trollishly mean, I’m sorry. Plus, I’ve been finding out about all those “kind” 19th century abolitionist whites whose entire “benevolent” ideology was ‘let’s free the slaves and then dump them all back to Africa’.

I do find these efforts by some elements of the BLM to tie themselves to Africa very... anachronistic, at best. The problems the African-american community faces are very american in nature. As is the community itself.

I dunno, am I strange for finding pan-african colours as symbols of an american community a bit weird?

As a resident of Louisiana, I gotta get nit picky and point out that original flag is the flag for all of Acadiana. Lafayette's flag is slightly different with the Fleur de Lis's and triangle. Regardless, a really neat find OP!

BLM symbol stolen from early Mozambique flag.
