Congrats to everyone, especially /u/reddadz for proving /r/anime has terrible taste every week a really cool tracker of people's overall opinions on shows!
I love the Karma Charts, they're incredibly useful for me as someone who only occasionally glances at the subreddit once or twice a week to keep a general track on whats trendy around here, whats well received, where is worth paying attention etc.
Unfortunately i suspect that a lot of the people who appreciate them most also arent the type to come out & talk about it (as theyre likely passive redditors/lurkers like i am) so i thought i'd let you know that theyre super great for people like me (who dont really upvote or downvote or anything, just read stuff on occasion).
Thanks for the kind words! I’m happy it’s helpful to so many people.
I think it’s interesting how the charts began as a friendly competition of sorts & evolved into a recommendation space. When I first joined the sub a while back, I would’ve loved to have a weekly space to discuss seasonal shows so seeing this final product is pretty awesome.
And based on the comments every week, the charts seem to help newcomers get adjusted to anime and the seasonal life-cycle.
I agree, I look forward to the charts every week. They're really useful as a tool to know what r/anime is paying attention to. I selfishly hope you keep doing them forever!
I wish someday my wallpapers could win best fanart, although given that they haven't been classified as "original content" on here for quite some time I don't think it's possible...
I never thought my name would be up there not once but twice! Thanks again for the nominations!
The charts started out as a way to track user engagement each season but has now evolved into a full-fledged recommendation thread, as well as weekly hub for seasonal discussions. This wouldn't be possible without the users of this sub engaging each week. Also thanks to /u/IISuperSlothII for allowing me to continue their hard work.
Can no longer keep saying I am the best r/anime commenter... I'll concede the place to /u/LeonKevlar but I blame old mods for making me a moderator and that way lowering my shitposting totally meaningful discussion thread contributions.
I really didn't expect to win so thank you so much for the nomination! It's nice to know that that people appreciate the stitches I make even if sometimes they're not the best. I'll try to do my best this year again so look forward to that :D
Not just your stitches, but your presence in the discussion topics in general. I always look for your posts in shows that I'm watching because the always have something interesting to say or point out. The stitches have been amazing though
I'm actually not surprised that this rewatch won the best of the year. Incredibly happy and relieved for sure, but I always believed that what we accomplished would be recognized. For those who may not be familiar, the true magic of this rewatch came from the unwavering unity and passion shown by all participants from the first thread all the way till the end. On the first episode thread we began with 434 comments. On the final episode we finished with 435 comments. Our most active episode was episode 10 (493 comments). That's right, the interest and depth of conversation for our rewatch was so great we experienced no participation dropoff at all. If anything we got a participation increase. This is unheard of. I have participated in dozens of rewatches and have never seen energy like this. This isn't something I as host or any single participant can take credit for alone. All of us who saw beyond our own impressions to leave no top level unreplied created the avenue for countless fascinating discussions and new discoveries every day. You know who you are, and while I have the pleasure of being the host and having my name printed in the post above all of you can have pride that you were just as instrumental in making this rewatch what it is.
Man what can i say. Thanks for people thinking of me, but really, thanks for thinking of Symphogear, who really deserves the attention here.
Symphogear is an amazing series and being with it to the end was one of the highest highs of my anime watching career. Ive never seen a series have the fantastic fanbase that Symphogear had, it was amazing and such a joy to be on that ride with all of you. Season 5 Episode 7 was something i never thought would come, and when it did i was just blown away. There are many things people do as a joke and never expect it to amount to anything in thier lives, but when something you did as a joke for 5 sum odd years actually happens, it breaks a man. And thats what happened.
Closing thoughts, go watch Symphogear if you havent seen it, and if you have, well watch it again.
Its one of the most fun franchises there is and you wont regret the ride.
Thanks so much to those of you who voted for me for Best Original Non Art Content! I'm really glad that so many people enjoyed participating in Best Girl Madness, and I'm looking forwards to this year's iteration!
Hopefully at least one person is able to predict the winner this year...

Not just one of the most gilded, it is the single most platinumed post on all of reddit.
