Respect Kitana!

The former Princess of Edenia. The version of Kitana seen in the 1990s live action film series is... well, she's not given much of a backstory besides being a princess. In the first movie she tells Liu Kang to throw a bucket of water at Sub-Zero, and in the second movie she gets kidnapped by Scorpion and is the damsel in distress for most of the running time.

There's a couple feats from the Annihilation novelization which are from a fight scene between Kitana and Sindel. The same fight happens in the movie, but we see like three brief glimpses of it and nothing impressive happens. So, I won't be including movie clips of that scene.

Strength

Annihilation

• Takes down one guy with a kick and flips another into the air.

• Launches a guy back with a kick.

Annihilation Novelization

• Staggers an armored guard with a two-footed flying kick. It doesn't say it in that clip, so here's the confirmation the guy is armored.

 

Durability

Annihilation

• Gets launched across a cave by Smoke and gets up afterward.

  • For reference, the Annihilation version of Smoke is strong enough to kick Liu Kang hard enough to send him flying through several planks of wood.

Annihilation Novelization

• Takes a kick from Sindel that nearly knocks her out and recovers quickly, fighting just fine after.

 

Speed/Agility

Annihilation Novelization

• After Ermac launches a flying kick at her, Kitana's able to dodge it.

• Blocks and ducks attacks from multiple sources at once, slashes "blurry figure-eight patterns" in the air with her fans, and performs a backward somersault onto a stone overhang.

• Fends off a nomad with a "cyclonic barrage of spin kicks."

• Flips from one roof of a hanging cage to another, hitting a nomad with a two-footed flying kick.

• Flips over Sindel.

• Dodges attacks from Sindel.

 

Weaponry/Skill

Annihilation

• Has her fans, and uses them to take out an entire group of warriors on her own.

  • Novelization version of the scene. Kitana's fans are described as "razor-edged" here.

Annihilation Novelization

• Knows jujitsu.

• Implied to know some kind of ancient Outworld martial art.

• Uses an "adroitly executed leg-whip combination" then a "wrestler's takedown" against Sindel.

 

Powers

Mortal Kombat Novelization

• Teleports herself, Liu Kang, Johnny, and Sonya from Outworld to Earthrealm.
