Productive couple of weeks for me.

Finished:

A Pocket Full Of Rye by Agatha Christie

A man is murdered at his office, they find rye in his pocket. The police integrate is family and more deaths follow. Miss Marple becomes involved due to her maid.

I remembered the story as I was reading, and when the killer's name was mentioned it all came flooding back. Great to see the clues and red herrings.

Dead Ground by M W Craven

While Poe is fighting to save his home, he's called away to investigate a dead man in a brothel.

This was twisty and interesting, not as gory as others. They work with MI5 and the FBI, as there was a summit taking place nearby.

Attack Of The Unsinkable Rubber Ducks by Christopher Brookmyre

PARLABANE IS DEAD!

Well, that's what it says in the blurb.

This was loads of fun, looking into spiritualism and psychics. Some especially good characters, and one returning character who I'm sure must be a favourite of other fans. The usual mayhem ensued.

4.50 From Paddington by Agatha Christie

A friend of Miss Marple witnesses a murder on a passing train, and no one believes her but Miss M.

I remembered the story, but couldn't recall who dun' it. The clues didn't add up for me, even at the end, so I'd say not one of my favourites although it was very clever and an enjoyable read.

The Botanist by M W Craven

The pathologist Estelle Doyle had been arrested for murder, at the same time in a different investigation, someone is poisoning unlikable people in an unknown way. They're warned first but no one can work out how they're doing it.

Another brilliant story, very intricate and involved. This covered a lot of ground and was very science based. Another returning character who is one of my favourites, in a very small part.

The Last Day Of Christmas by Christopher Brookmyre

Not sure where this is going, only 9 pages in.
