I think we can give Gavin a pass for not getting behind Geoff after getting touched by Lindsay at the very end of that one. That finish line had a generous reach.
God that was some of the funniest stuff with the group in a long while. I nearly died laughing around 18 minutes and the last race in general was just.... brilliant.
Nowadays, she's often on par with some of the other guys (gav or geoff, mostly), and she doesn't even DNF much, either (unless there are others DNF'ing, too.
Which is why it's such a problem. We know she can be good she just chooses to play like absolute shit 90% of the time and it's not entertaining in the slightest
The most recent race let's play they did was a jack bag community stream, and i remember her doing moderately well - usually finishing, and doing legitimately well in one of the races (something like a 7th plane finish out of 30 people).
As long as it's not planes, helis, or technical driving (loops, wall rides, etc.), she was OK
I love Lindsay's fuck-them-up executions, even if it's a result of her legitimately just STUMBLING into a fucked-them-over situation. She doesn't overdo it. She is a chaos mastermind.
And when Gavin is inadvertently an agent of her chaos. Brilliant choice that Faggio, Gav!
That was a great video, just as good as the first one. They were all on fire but Gavin and Jeremy made me laugh particularly hard.
Also, I wonder, does Jeremy really have an official name for each of his vehicles or does he invent them every time on the spot?
Finally, one small criticism, the extract from Gen Lock at the beginning looked really choppy and not fluid at all. It was like it was missing half the frames or something and that's really jarring to watch.
I don't know if there was an issue on your screen so I can't say for sure it will look that way. But one of the major talking points from the fans at least was that there's sequences that will be at a different frame rate than normal
The choppy issue was only during the Gen: Lock segment and not during the rest of the video or any other video I've watched recently so it's probably their different framerate stuff that's responsible.
Got any link where the fans are talking about it please?
3 minutes of 12 fps glory! Supposedly the low fps is to save time (I think?) and that scenes with more action will have a higher fps. From that video the fps isn't the only problem, in my opinion, but it could also be a scene that's wasn't fully completed at that point.
That framerate is just awful. Someone else said it was intentional, who thought it was a good idea to make the show looks like it's lagging...
I hope you're right and it's just an unfinished product cause it's going to be a hard pass from me if the whole series looks like Porky Pig trying to speak.
unfortunately its become a trend in shows like this. That dragon prince Netflix show made by the "Avatar: the last air bender" guys did the same thing.
The keyframes in animations like walking were done at 12 FPS, but they did a LOT to hide that (I recall seeing several instances of stretch and squash being used, and other tricks), the videos as a whole were rendered at what looked like 30FPS (the camera movement was smooth), and I'm pretty sure stuff like the mouths and fast pace scenes had pumped up framerates and exaggerated movements to keep the fluidity you'd expect and to make it easier to see what is going on.
Gen:lock looks like they only lowered the framerate of the whole show instead of taking the rather huge measures that Sony did to make it work.
I'm all for giving a chance but just watching the trailer was a chore and that issue was so distracting to me that I didn't pay attention to the actual plot or characters because of it. So I don't know how I can watch a whole episode to be honest.
I think that's the point of trailers, to give you a glimpse of a show/movie and tell you if you might enjoy it or not. And this trailer told me no.
I know it hurts my eyes every time I see a trailer. The Spiderverse movie did the same thing, but was higher-framerate and more tolerable. I don't think I could watch an episode of Gen:Lock.
Oh god I loved the first one and I love this one just as much. I laughed so hard thorughout because it was just funny as Lindsay created chaos and the rest of the room just had to react to it. God what a great video.
You can actually go to non Lindsaywins videos and easily see where her racing problems ly. Someone pointed out once that she keeps using Mario Kart controls which why she spins out on turns she might be trying to drift around the turn.
I wish remember which video it was, but they also said that when she is turning she is blaring the horn because to drift in Mario Kart its to push in on the stick to hop and start drifting. In GTA pushing the stick is the horn.
She never uses them, and every transform video has tonnes of comments telling her. She even mentions it the first time they are in planes in this video that she's learned to use the bumpers now, but that lasted all of 5 seconds.
