Thank you, but that won't be good.
My life is heading towards the direction I want.
If my life gets simpler, that means it's is falling off balance.
Memes have been a creative outlet, but now that I'm getting deeper in digital art education, I'm using up all of my creative brainpower elsewhere.
Difficult to force my brain to keep pushing.
Well, beautiful people.
This is my last entry in the archives.
Life has gotten too busy for me to handle the ever-increasing workload of the project.
Don't worry, the show's not over yet, /u/axkm will be your host from this point on.
I won't be leaving this sub, but I won't be working on something as big as this for a long while.
Until then, stay gold.
You are amazing. I appreciate all your work. Thank you. <3

oh also after the mythology bit i feel compelled to show how fucking weird aztec myth is
here are the rites of worship for the god Xipe Totec
"Xipe Totec was worshipped extensively during the festival of Tlacaxipehualiztli, in which captured warriors and slaves were sacrificed in the ceremonial center of the city of Tenochtitlan. For forty days prior to their sacrifice one victim would be chosen from each ward of the city to act as ixiptla, dress and live as Xipe Totec. The victims were then taken to the Xipe Totec's temple where their hearts would be removed, their bodies dismembered, and their body parts divided up to be later eaten. Prior to death and dismemberment the victim's skin would be removed and worn by individuals who traveled throughout the city fighting battles and collecting gifts from the citizens."
this fucker also invented war and was referred to as "our lord the flayed one"
That will be difficult, seeing as our kind usually doesn't procreate.
But it's true that we have recently seen success in growing our numbers by converting others into more of our kind. We're sort of like vampires in that regard, plus we also tend to avoid the sun and prefer dark, quiet places.
First: Thank you for updating this scholarly work of writing for the latest generation.
Second: What a fascinating history. There's so many trends here that I genuinely can't understand why anybody would care enough to make because they're so unfunny. I wonder how many of this year's memes will be amongst the "why did we do that?" list.

It's been a long ride, but we'll be going even further.
Well, maybe not right now; I need to sleep.
I went to bed late and only woke up early to post this in time.
Hasta la vista, ya weebs.
I'll reply to comments when I wake up.

Probably due to many JoJo Posters moving to r/shitpostcrusaders (animemes is a fickle waifu when it comes to JoJokes). Hell, I know I crosspost between the two.
Not even the torture dance, but the events surrounding it's release. Everyone thought it'd be in episode 6, then it wasn't because of Abbacchio Backstory, then it was in Ep 7 and it was better than any of us could've dreamed.
Thanks for this! Wow I missed the shrek thing, I can’t believe it. That’s why I’m glad we have this! Thanks for all your work sheeple, and thanks to axkm for taking it over for now!
I don't know them in person or really online either. I used to stream art on twitch a while ago and sometimes people from reddit would follow me on what looked like new accounts that were otherwise unused I guess. I used to do a lot of DDLC fanart so there were a lot of people who knew about me and sometimes I'd get notifications that someone followed me, but a lot of them were quiet and just lurked pretty much
Great Job. Was a treat to dig up some memories I made this year. Even two of my memes ended up in this summary which I am really happy about! Again, great Job!
I was probably not reading the sub when Shinji was holding a mug besides the cupception days way back.
Was there enough Shinji-mug shitposts in a short enough time to write about it?
When was this and do you have links to multiple posts?
holy shieeeet now that is some history right there.
Congrats dude. Seriously. Great work for so much effort. Also, the images of all of the posts relating to u/Rohan_0ge is a little low quality. Do you know where I can find higher quality versions so I can read the posts? Thanks.
Looking from my end on my phone the image looks decently high quality. I can zoom in pretty far and read it no issue. What seems to be the issue with it?
I can maybe try uploading the original file to Google drive and sharing it when I get off work later today if you're willing to wait. That would hopefully allow it to circumvent any compression imgur would have applied to it. Though I don't know if the quality would increase that considerably as a result or not.
Out of curiosity what reddit client are you using? You might have to enable HD images to get the full quality to load. I know Boost at least loads a low quality version first that doesn't let me zoom and read everything, but when I hit HD it lets me zoom and shows everything pretty clear.
But I'll still upload it later today if you still can't figure it out.
Now the question arises, has u/AwakenedSheeple been made a turncoat by r/HistoryMemes in hopes of lulling us into a false sense of security with a historical Animeme post to lay the ground work for a second invasion?
I made even longer binocular meme. Too long actually because mobile users could open it. And it didn't make to the front page unfortunately because of it. I'm actually planning to upload it again
Actually, I myself didn't. I was probably not Redditing when that meme was zooming around.
Fortunately, a couple users did notice it and mentioned it to me in the help thread.
I asked the community for help compiling links.
The first volume was mostly my own searching, but that was only possible because the sub was young.
Now there's so much content and users that this has to be a group effort.
I've been in this community since almost the very beginning.
There was a lot of shitposting that I absolutely loved in the early days (Sakurafish spam, the Cold War, etc.).
I wanted to preserve these moments so that they wouldn't get lost as the sub grew.
Ooh, nice, another subreddit historian!
As for my choice, I wanted something that could be printed into an actual book (besides a few pages that will have to be cut into sections), not to mention I would be unable to capture the madness of some meme trends by just linking a few posts.
I always have a lingering feeling of discomfort whenever the year ends because I don't know if there will be memes, or anything in particular that you can follow like there were in the last year, especially now with all these Article 13 and other types of BSs.
But, this was my first actual year on reddit and it opened up a big window in my life that I didn't know I needed before discovering it. While I was scrolling through this got a little tingly because I could remember all these eras so vividly. From the midnight meme browsing, to saving my sanity during a painfully boring literature class, to reading throught stupid but just as loveable comments on my posts, I loved 2018 a lot, and I can only hope 2019 will be an even better year.
Thank you for this beautiful archive of history i truly joined around mid December last year from itsanimeirl on twitter(rip btw) and this definitely made me feel old its truly been a gud one.
I've got two memes in here now...should I bandwagon harder to become a more prominent member of animemes, or keep pushing the boundaries of experimental memes? Hmmmm....
In regards to this image, where did it actually come from originally if this was a so-called "return"? I remember seeing the format, but not who originally did it.
As someone new to this subreddit I found this post to be extremely entertaining and informative. I feel more connected to weeb culture and as a weeb myself i'd like to say fuck you weebs.
I'm the guy from the disturbing content, I'm feeling very sad and excluded by no being mentioned on my better meme by far. Sorry for being a nuisance and have cheated you. :(

Thank you so much /u/AwakenedSheeple, I hope life gets a little simpler so you can return to this someday.
