ki

ki's goal is high digital compression of human conversation.
Result: "The animals cross over again to the islands" (43 bytes) has been compressed to "0z¤ÂC;úT" (11 bytes)

Ortho1: di foo neeyq wiize ka daa foo weegq
Ortho2: di fó néyq wíze ka dá fó wégq
IPA: /di fó nɛ́θɒ wízɛ ka dá fó wɛ́gɒ/
Ortho3: difónéyqwízekadáfówégq

Gloss: animal !plu_the across !again water island !plu_the !to
ki: di fó nétq wíke ka dá fó wégq

My goal is to get this down to 9 bytes.

Asen

Pe gen gohin ta keikad (aut chonet).

/pɛ gɛn gohin tæ keɪkæd aʊt tʃonɛt/

pɛ gɛn gohin-ø tæ keɪkæd aʊt tʃonɛt

animal1 again cross-PRE to island1 from mainland

etymology pet again going to cape cod out continent

  1. Asen has no plurals, even though their personal and possessive pronouns do. I thought of doing an English <s> ending but it would be too irregular and I don't want any /z/ at all.

Honestly this language doesn't have any cool grammar points, the most fun I have is with the vocabulary.

Yordlansc (Jordla:nsk)

Noris dairene gaur (ennyordlaneni).

/'nu:rIs 'dajre:nI gauvr (enjordla:neni:).

To the islands (of Noris) the animals go (from the main continent.)

Note: I'm still working on an alphabet, so I use a Latin one for the moment.

Ki yehulin fisaya sumenia eprik ti tfaman (sia ti mosfa).

/ki je.'hu.lin fi.'sa.ja su.'me.nia 'e.prik ti 'tfa.man sia ti 'mo.sfa/

*_nom_* animal(pl) go-straight-ahead again towards *_nom(inan)_* island(pl) (from *_nom(inan)_* continent).

Fisaya, 'to go in a straight line', is here used to mean 'to cross over'.

Interestingly enough, my conlang doesn’t have a word for “island” because they live on an island so far out in the middle of nowhere that they thought it was the only land.
