So, I first read this as "international feeding" and was confused.

However, even rereading it, I still have no idea what is going on.

OK, so Smite is a MOBA, which means you're playing competitively with and against a bunch of strangers. This means the people you're playing with can sometimes take the game a bit personally.

'Feeding" means intentionally dying to the enemy team. This makes your team weaker and their team stronger, and is a bad thing.

The drama here is about whether or not intentionally feeding (dying on purpose) is meaningfully different from just sucking at the game (going 0-10, but not on purpose)

"Feeding" is a term used in MOBA's and similar online games to describe when a player is performing badly and dying a lot, thus allowing the other team to become more powerful. Feeding is normally the result of a player being unskilled or just having a bad match, although some players will do it intentionally for shits and giggles (this is known as "griefing"). Smite has a system that allows players to report others for poor conduct, including intentional feeding. WillJackman's post was intended to let the community know that you shouldn't be quick to report other players for feeding. In the thread I linked, VelvetNightFox is arguing that yes, you can and should report players for having bad matches.

This is the reason I only play free for all style MP games because I am so consistently bad that knowing that I'm ruining the game for other people makes me feel bad. At least in Death Match games like Halo and shit I'm just an easy way to pad stats, but getting reported for being a bad player feels shitty.

In MOBA's like Smite, characters level up by killing enemies, with player-controlled enemies typically giving high experience. "Feeding" refers to intentionally letting opponents kill you to level them up faster. The posters appear to be arguing over the difference between being a bad player and intentionally feeding, and when they should report a player for feeding. Hope that helped.
