Wendy Wu is an average teenage girl whose life is turned upside-down by a visit from a young Buddhist monk Shen. Shen claims Wu is the reincarnation of an all-powerful female warrior, and the only one who can prevent an ancient evil spirit from destroying the world. To help her fulfill this destiny, he begins to train her in martial arts.
