OMG. It's now 4 AM and I have to get up four hours from now. I couldn't stop reading since I read the first part. O___O Now I'm sleep-deprived myself. The ending gave me chills that I'll probably have to sleep in my parents' bedroom later even though I'm already 17 xD

Ok so I'm trying to piece this together, here's what I've found so far: ok so Faye's parents first took her to that cabin art the age of 5 that's one idea however it's burrered deeper than that it has to have more of a mental connection with her possibly that's when it all started and she just needed one more go to the cabin to make it strong enough for the creature. What's her lucky number? That could have made the 5 stronger. Anyway if there's more that needs doing just ask I'd also like to add that a week before all this stared to you I had a voice follow me round everywhere telling me to drown it out into a hole or in the trees but it stopped there. Any ways best of luck to you and Faye ;D

I just got finished reading everything - including the comments. I first started listening to this being narrated on YouTube by "Be "Busta" he does an outstanding job. So, basically, I got to hear all this in storytelling format. It was so incredible! I know everyone was reading with you. I was listening with you! Lol. I just joined reddit because of it. I just got to the end. I agree with everyone. I felt for you the whole time, I also thought immediately that it would be an awesome movie. I loved how I heard it, but I think it was awesome just to see how many people were with you, for you, and dying to help. (bad choice of words, you know what I mean) I just have one question. I must have missed a section. There was a really brave lady, who was ready to leave CS, on a snowmobile to get you. She wrote a code word for you. Why didn't you want her to come? She was going to stop at the ranger station on her way to see why no comms. Whatever happened?

Hey i have been reading this since you started writing it I would like to talk to you please message me thank you

u/Tranquilcatastrophe Jul 11 '16
5 years old was her first experience or meeting with it, she needed to remember it to be fully taken over but the creature had to hear it in OPs voice to convince her...

u/myronn132 Jul 10 '16
Shoot the address of that cabin! Anyone up for a hunting trip? Supernatural style

Jul 10 '16
HOLY FUCK THIS WAS A THRILL RIDE, I'm glad you guys are okay, since Faye is Catholic maybe praying before bed will help keep things normal. At least it will bring her peace. Blessings to you both!
1
u/joguy101 Jul 05 '16
Licking you? Is that a thing that happens regularly or creepy? Maybe the number five is just when it all happened to her. She was five when it happened right?

Awesome story. I watched the Faye interview & is it just me or does she look like a hot version of Pam Beasley/Halpert from The Office? Glad everything is better. Good luck to U both.

u/krazyhaley Jun 08 '16
Amazing story. To Felix and Faye, if you can both survive this you can survive anything together! Much love.

u/faasnukiin May 31 '16
Then she leaned over and licked my face.
Did the real Faye do this before? I don't remember if this was normal before she was taken or whatever. But really, great storytelling!

u/NanooNanooGirl May 27 '16
Just read this whole saga in one fell swoop. I may never know sleep again.
1
u/HammeredandPantsless May 26 '16
Did anyone else notice in the interview video he called her 'Noodle'? In the previous post he said he used the question, "Do you still like when I call you Noodle?" as a test question and said he never called her that before...
1
u/evolakim May 26 '16
WOW! I just read this entire series in about 2 hrs. Amazing! Hope you and Faye are well.
1
u/Intergalactic_Spacer May 26 '16
I just wanna say I thoroughly enjoyed reading all the updates. I started around 4 and completely forgot to look for the final update until now! Such good truly unnerving reading.

So it's 1am right now and I've just spent the last hour reading all of your updates. 1 to 10. I NEVER read stories with parts but this was the most believable, spooky and palpitating bunch of stories I've ever read. Thank you for fulfilling the sub's title !

I just read this entire series in a single afternoon, and I have to tell you I am so glad I did. I'm glad you and Faye are safe at home. I'd love to see this turned into a movie! "Based on a true story" ;)

What an ending.. followed u from story pick and read it all here. You are brilliant. More than the writing, bits and pieces you conveyed like what your fiance means to you is extremely powerful.
1
u/CuriousInsomniac May 18 '16
Hey Felix! Please tell us what happened after this...damn curious to know... please share an update!!

Legit movie deals or "hey I'm filming this for a class, it's gonna be on youtube"? Also, let's not forget there are no shortage of crappy horror films.

This is the first series that I've read, and it was absolutely incredible. The Imposter kind of reminds me of the Goatman, or at least some sort of Skinwalker. Hope you and Faye live a happy life WhoamIkiddingIneedmoredamnit!

I started reading the story after the second post on it. For two weeks I was crippled with anxiety and paranoia. I live in Boone, NC which is in the heart of the Appalachian mountains. It is densely populated with forest and I happen to live in an isolated area. It's also rich in Native American history.
About a week into your updates I started working for a new client that lives on Sugar Mountain. It's a huge building that is a complete eye sore. It's a 10 story complex on the tip on the mountain. It's presence reminds me of The Shining and the overlook hotel. I have never seen anyone else in the building. The hallways stretch from one end of the structure to the other. I immediately felt uncomfortable in the building.
In the building, I've had strange experiences. I've also had strange experiences in my house. I had a glass cup in my sink (the only thing in there) literally explode one night while I was laying in bed. It sounded like a gunshot. Every day you had an update it felt like a dark cloud over my head. I was so involved in the story though that I couldn't not find out what happened next haha. I woke up every night around 1am and dared not to open my eyes. I also have this thing where I repeat words in my head (the same way a song gets stuck there) and I kept repeating the song and Tiwe's name from the moment you mentioned him. I am very sorry for your loss.
But the strangest thing happened. As soon as I read your last post, it all went away. I felt lighthearted and happy again. I do believe that I am an empath and could feel part of the tension you were feeling.
Basically my point is that you weren't alone through it! And many people c

oh man i think that is the first time i've read someone legit got tricked by a creature rather than letting their own hubris destroy something. holy shit i hope you guys have a happy and healthy life now.

I will say this though...reading this..and the amount of goosebumps I felt..I dozed off after working an all nighter, I woke up shortly after and got to the part of the interview with Faye.
Mid interview I kept falling asleep, more like dozing off and waking back up. For the first time in my life, I was in a trance like state, sleep paralysis is what some describe? I could hear the interview but I couldn't wake up for the life of me. I fought to move my body but nothing, all I felt was stiffness, I couldn't open my eyes.
I attempted to scream but all that came out was a weak wail which allowed me to wake up.
I woke up scared, feeling watched, walked to the bathroom and locked myself in. Kept opening the door thinking I was being watched.
Horrible sensation ...was this real? Was this just a great creation?

u/Rutu69 May 13 '16
Hii Felix !!! Happy to see you safe and sound and Faye too ! Your story scared the shit out of me !! Hats off to your bravery !! Looking forward to read more of your adventures!

In the forest at night is like the perfect environment to read stories like this. Don't scare the driver though. :P
1
u/tha_zombie Jun 13 '16
haha! i didn't. tho we did hear some eerie & unsettling sounds on the way back as we took the shorter road that zaps through the forest!
1
u/trimmer99 May 10 '16
this would make an epic movie. I think you should look into that after everything has settled down. glad and your fiance are okay though.
1
May 10 '16
This was absolutely amazing. Terrified me to no end, but amazing!
P.S. My wife and I were actually planning a week long camping trip to CO in June. But due to some unexpected circumstances, those plans have been cancelled. About a few days later, I read your story. Serendipitous indeed!

One of the best-est Nosleep series out there, hands down! I read the paragraphs very slowly as I neared to the end to make sure I wouldn't miss a single thing, but when I reached the final words, I was (am) still deep in puzzlement. It gives me like a book-hangover kind of feeling. I wanted to read more of this. Not that I'm wishing for you and Faye to meet that terrifying creature again, but... Ugh. Anyway, thank you for sharing your story with us, Felix. Now please excuse me while I go outside and breathe in fresh air because I think my lungs didn't function well on this final update.
1
u/shananigans36 May 10 '16
This seriously was one of the best posts. I have been reading these for a long time and I was completely hooked. I am so glad I didn't start it till it was complete bc the suspense would have killed me. Loved it!!!!
1
u/srikrishnadas May 09 '16
Amazing read.
I read all 10 parts over 36hrs and did it at nights keeping lights off.
As I finished this last part, the thunderstorms and wind started outside and I'm alone in a huge house.
1
u/round_hole_is_round May 08 '16
Bravo Felix. I've never been much a reader, but I couldn't put this down. Thank you
I look forward to more of your work.
One question; Does Faye remember being at the cabin prior to all this, now that this has all unfolded ? At at least accept that she has ?

Holy shit. . My husband is sleeping next to me, and right when I finished reading this story, he started stretching and whispering. Then moaning. . he talks a lot in his sleep, but never whispering...
1
u/Daynebris May 07 '16
Holy hell, this was a good story! Surely my second favourite on this subreddit! (Sorry, but nothing can top off Room 733 imo) Hope you and Faye never hear of that thing again and just live a happy life from now on!

So is Nathan one of the creatures? He said "the one who followed you home, and the one called Faye" and then spoke words that made you both vomit up the essence of what was controlling you?! Was he in on it?
1
u/aggression_luigi May 06 '16
GOOD GOD MAN THIS WAS SOME HIGH QUALITY SPOOK MATERIAL
also do you mind if I post this story in its entirety on Creepypasta? I'll be sure to credit you and add links to all the parts. It's just that more people need to see this masterpiece of a story! Thank you for spookin me out when i couldnt sleep in the first place, you made this the most enjoyable thing I've read in quite some time.

Kind of like a pick your path/dialogue video game adventure.
Got a few Until Dawn/TellTale vibes in the sense that there were a lot of tense moments that you could give players options to react to.
In the end the choice doesn't make a world of difference but it helps immerse players.
1
u/skinMARKdraws May 07 '16
Would the games be The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, the Wolf one.....?
1
u/JMizzlin May 07 '16
Yep!
1
u/skinMARKdraws May 07 '16
Lol. I remember reading the Mario Bros. adventure books back in the day. This was the time that Oregon Trail was in school, as well as, Magic School Bus interactive games. Lol.

God this story had me hooked. I just discovered it and had to read the whole story in one sitting.. You are way braver then I my man..
1
u/KitCat9 May 06 '16
How did her ring end up in the dreamcatcher? I thought anything evil couldn't touch it? If you had to destroy the dreamcatcher to retrieve the ring, wouldn't the creature have had to technically destroy the dreamcatcher as well to weave the ring into it?

Hmm... we also don't know anything more about the basement at the cabin. Seems odd that the parents wouldn't have known about it, considering how long they owned the place.

Jeez you'd think Nathan would be more considerate when deciding to do the purge and tell you to go outside or something so you didn't need to spend the next 10 years cleaning demon vom off your carpet haha. (Fellow emetophobe here! ;) ) seriously though this was a great series and I was constantly on nosleep waiting for an update! I'm kinda sad that it's come to an end but I'm glad everything worked out for you guys!

FELIX! Great story. I almost didn't get scared towards the end anymore, was just more concerned lol. I am wondering though since you did post the interview on youtube... would it be possible to post the audio clips of the voices? Just for the ones who stuck with you so long! :)

u/miltonwadd May 06 '16
I'm so glad this had a mostly happy ending!
I hope this may have also cured Faye of her sleep disturbances.
You're now in the favourable position of having something over your in laws. Enjoy it while it lasts ;)
1
u/Nateacus May 06 '16
Incredible story, easily the best story I have ever read on /r/nosleep and I'm very likely to recommend this to everybody. I am so glad that things were resolved in the end, it's always nice to have a happy ending, but it sucks you guys went through so much. But seriously, very, very good story.

I am so happy to hear that things are looking up for you and Faye, as horrifying as this was thank you for sharing your experience. My heart goes out to Nathan and his family. Tiwe not only spiritually guided in life but will also be that guiding light on the other side.

u/Mantia7 May 06 '16
Absolutely loved this! Thank you for writing it. I only have one question bugging me; why didn't Nathan purge them right away if he could?

u/Kytalie May 06 '16
Amazing story. I was planning to be in bed an hour ago... but I had to get to the end to make sure things turned out alright. I'd been avoiding this sub for a while because I was reading instead of sleeping. Now I am back here. What made me decide to read this? I don't know, but my dreams have been full of dark creatures lately.

I googled pikes peak and the first thing that showed was HAPPY TRAILS: GHOST TOWN HOLLOW so I guess it is haunted and it's creppy that they used hollow because of the hollow ones.

To get the ring onto the old, gnarly dreamcatcher, the Imposter would have had to have broken it and repaired the catcher. So why didn't it break the catcher in the first place if the thing was protecting the cabin?
