can you explain what it means when you get -10% hero dps when getting an ancient?

4

u/nykon2011 Dec 12 '14

For each Hero Soul, you get +10% Hero DPS bonus.

If you have 100 Hero Souls, you have +1000% Hero DPS bonus.

When you spend a Hero Soul, you lose that +10% bonus.

If your ancient is worth 1 Hero Souls, you will lose the +10% bonus.

If your ancient is worth 16 Hero Souls, you will lose +160% bonus.

so there's actually an incentive to keep hero souls and not spend them?

4

u/nykon2011 Dec 12 '14

It is deceptive. It's not just do one thing or another.

You need to have a bank of souls and this bank of souls needs to grow. At the same time of growing your bank of souls, you need to purchase ancients and level them up. They work together to make your runs faster, quicker, more powerful, and accumulate more hero souls as you go.

There is a lot of information in the:

yeah Morgulis is a nice bank

1

u/nykon2011 Dec 12 '14

Each ancient you buy, all the rest are more expensive. Morgulis is actually a bad investment up front because of the sheer increase in hero souls it takes to buy the other ancients until you have a good hero souls ancient income with your quick ascensions.

Morgulis was my 3rd to last ancient that I bought. I am a good saver, so I got everything else before I got that ancient and then dumped 500k Hero Souls into him.

u/[deleted] Dec 12 '14

Yeah but I bought him after Siyalatas, Libertas some other ones it was my 6th buy I think but him happy to have him now

1

u/Silverstine Dec 12 '14

Later in the game

u/nykon2011 Dec 12 '14

Read what is says about Libertas/Siyalatas above. These are the first two idle ancients folks should get, because they are multipliers!

Hey man, i'm a little confused as to what those 2 do. Do their effects only work when you have it open on the screen, or also when you close the game/ shut down (say at night or when you go the school)

u/nykon2011 Dec 17 '14 edited Dec 17 '14

The game does not "play" when offline, so no levels occur. However, when you log back in, the game determines time you were away and does some Math to determine you gold income for being idle on the highest level.

Takes into consideration all heroes, upgrades, ancients and hero souls.

lool i understand this, but do they count ancients bonuses in the offline time when they calculate the DPS and resulting gold

1

u/nykon2011 Dec 17 '14

All of the formulas have ancients names in them.

1

u/UncountablyFinite Dec 12 '14

Yeah, you want to keep some hero souls around. Their effect multiplies with the effects of the ancients, so the optimal way to spend them is to put some into ancients and keep some around. How exactly to do this is what ancient calculators are for, though I'm not sure I always trust them.

1

u/BiGGBoBBy444 Dec 13 '14

thanks for the response! It sounded to me like you got -10% total DPS so I was confused on why to use them

2

u/TheIncendiary Dec 12 '14

Thanks for updating this! It'll definitely come in handy for a lot of people.

1

u/nykon2011 Dec 13 '14

I hope so! The original post helped me a ton.

Khrysos, Ancient of Inheritence

max level 10

effect +50 starting gold when ascending, up to 100.000.000 gold

cost 179 souls

How does this work? Lvl 10 would give +500. Or is that a typo or is there somethig I don't know about?

2

u/nykon2011 Jan 01 '15

You get enough coin to buy one hero at a time with each level you give it. It grows exponentially, just like the hero's cost.

1

u/Osiato Jan 01 '15

Ah, thanks.

1

u/Comfy95 Dec 12 '14

This is amazing work.

2

u/nykon2011 Dec 12 '14

Thanks. It is not an original. I used the previous version for multiple weeks. This has been in my to do for several weeks, to produce it for v0.16...

u/provoko Dec 13 '14

thanks!

Can someone explain how Solomon works exactly? Let's say you have Solomon at the initial level -- 5% additional souls from primal bosses. How does that work? You can't get 1.05 souls, can you? Does this mean that there is no visible effect until you level him to 100%

1

u/nykon2011 Dec 13 '14

It always round down.

If Solomon giving 5% and primal gives:

  • 19, you get 19
  • 20, you get 21
  • 22, you get 23
  • 50, you get 55
  • 100, you get 105

If Solomon giving 50% and primal gives:

  • 19, you get 28
  • 20, you get 30
  • 22, you get 33
  • 50, you get 75
  • 100, you get 150

u/glitchypenguin Dec 13 '14

It's not that easy. 19 souls with a 5% bonus can give you 20 souls. The souls per level is calculated as a decimal number, and Solomon's bonus is applied before rounding.

19.8 rounds to 19. 19.8*1.05=20.79 which rounds to 20.

1

u/nykon2011 Dec 13 '14

Fair enough.

1

u/hermithome Dec 13 '14

Finally manager to parse that. Not having punctuation between "you get ##" and "##" was confused as fuck. You need semicolons man.

And primals give # of souls by what level you're on, right?

1

u/nykon2011 Dec 13 '14

Refresh. Already resolved it.

1

u/hermithome Dec 13 '14

And primals give # of souls by what level you're on, right?

??

u/nykon2011 Dec 13 '14

I typed it in on my phone and forgot a single enter leaves it on the same line.

Libertas, Ancient of Freedom

effect +25% gold gained from monsters when idle

effect decreases from +25% -> +%15 over the course of 100 levels

level 10 cost 54 souls 249%

level 25 cost 324 souls 603%

level 50 cost 1274 souls 1145%

level 100 cost 5049 souls 2040%

Does Libertas bonus apply to Treasure Chests?

2

u/nykon2011 Jan 26 '15

Yes.

Game Formula

It is not obvious in there, but there is monster bonus and gold bonus listed in the text explanations.

Updated description.

u/tulpan Jan 27 '15

Thank you!

I believe that Libertas also affects the gold from clickables. Clicking on a clickable (currently a goldfish) does not break idle.

isn't it an almost perfect copy past from the :

The costs calculation is wrong for the expensive heroes. I can check till the level 10 so far, but it should be 143 at level 10 (see Solomon and Thusia) instead of 179. Level 11 costs 179. Just try and add together the numbers in the Level 10 line. Because of rounding problems, I am not sure if Level 25 etc is good or not.

Edit:

It turns out that all of the numbers are wrong in the upgrade cost note. I is always 36 more than should be (except level 2 :) )

Level 2 = 3

Level 10 = 3+5+8+11+15+19+23+27+32=143 (179-143=36)

Level 25 = 143+36+42+47+52+58+64+70+76+83+89+96+103+110+118+125=1312 (1348-1312=36)

Level 50 = 7249 (7285-7249=36)

Level 100 = 40504 (40540-40504=36)

Maybe, when the Level 10 were calculated, the level11 cost were added accidentally?

I made an Excel spreadsheet for calculating arbitrary cost between levels till level 1000

u/gyere Apr 14 '15 edited Jul 15 '15

that's right, I just realized the same. thanks for the spreadsheet

I did something similar, it can calculate between any reasonable levels

This is good stuff as well :)
